Fear clutched at my throat, and a cold shiver went down her spine just thinking about something bad that had happened to my kids. Her face felt hot as her fear turned to anger.
“What do you mean you couldn’t find them? They were with you all the time. It’s your responsibility to watch them!” I yelled.
She fell to the ground on her knees, crying mess. “I’m sorry, your highness, I’m sorry.
We were in the garden playing, then I went to the kitchen to bring their snacks as usual, but when I got back, I lost them. Please forgive me. Forgive me, your majesty.”
Dread fluttered through me , and I shook my head. my worst fears for my kids were confirmed.
“Take her to the cell; I will deal with her later.” I ordered my guards.
“No, please, your highness, I did nothing wrong. Please spare me.”
“Take her now,” I growled.
Maybe Grandpa took them for an outdoor lunch. I picked up my phone and called him.
“Grandpa, are the kids with you?”
“No, they are not with me. I’m with Belinda. We went out for a lunch date. Why are you asking, has something bad happened to them ?
“They are missing.” I sobbed hard.
“I’m coming right now,” he says, then hangs up the phone.
Lucas is out for a mini honeymoon; he flees to Tuscany to spend a week there with Ruby.
I mind linking the petrol guards: “My kids are missing; they are nowhere to be seen in the palace; what the fuck where you been ?” Alarm all the warriors and search for them, or I will snap your necks. Did you hear me?
I feel my blood boiling in my veins; my hackles are rising, and all I want to do is tear everyone into pieces. I want to set the whole world on fire for my kids.
I mind-linked my Gamma Elijah. “Come to my office now!” I roared.
A few seconds later, he showed up , his face staring in fear, “What’s the matter, your highness?”
I punched him hard in the face, then grabbed his neck and tightened my hand on his throat, choking the hell out of him.
“Where the fuck have you been when someone sneaked into my kingdom and took and kidnapped my kids? It’s your duty to protect the kingdom from its enemies.”
I released him, and he fell to the ground, coughing hard and trying to breathe some oxygen.
“Listen, you have 24 hours to find my kids, gather a search team, and check the security cameras for evidence, or I will set your ass on fire, and all the people responsible for my kids missing. Now get out,” I growled.
I need to lay down a little bit. I think I will pass out from heartache, anxiety, bliss, pain, and a hundred other feelings.
With each step, the fear grew until I lowered myself into the chair, and my heart was pounding in my ears.
I held my face in my hand and sobbed in pain, fear, exhaustion, and frustration, bubbling uncontrollably.
I had to call Xander and deliver the news to him.
I’m afraid of his reaction; he will definitely blame me for the kid’s kidnapping.
I picked up my phone and called him. It rang, and my heart was racing.
“Did you miss me, baby?”he teased.
“Xander, someone kidnapped our kids.”
“What the fuck are you saying? How did that just happen? Hell ! How could someone kidnap them on your watch? Where the fuck have you been? And your fucking security guards? It’s their duty to keep an eye on the kingdom!” he yelled furiously.
“I think there’s a traitor in the palace helping the kidnappers.”
“I’m on my way; I will be with you in no time” he says, and he ends the call.
My face fell, and tears trailed down my cheeks.
What am I going to do ? For the first time, I felt helpless. I can’t think straight when it comes to my precious children.
Who kidnapped my kids? Who wants to hurt little babies? A wrecking sob leaves my throat. I would die if something happened to my children. I can’t live without them; they are my sunshine and the reason that kept me alive after what happened to me .
Out of the blue, my door knob unlocked, and Xander burst into the office like a tornado. I ran to his arms and buried my face in his chest, sobbing my heart out. He held me tight to his body, calming me down with the soothing words, “Please, Xander, bring me back my kids. I can’t live without them.” I cried.
“I beg you, Xander, bring them back home. Save my children ”
“Sush, baby, we will find them; don’t worry.” We stood in each other’s embrace, consoling one another, until we heard someone’s throat clearing.
We turned our heads up to find Theodore standing at the door with anger in his eyes.
