Taya had never met Griffon’ grandfather, but she had heard of him.
It was said that when Dominic Knight was in power, not even the four great European packs dared to compete with him.

The powerful but retired man had come to see her in person, most likely because of Griffon’ mating.
As Taya vaguely guessed the purpose of his visit, she became nervous and scared, but she still pretended to be calm and went downstairs after tidying up.
Without an invitation, Dominic entered the house, wearing a well-tailored suit, leaning on a dragon-head cane, standing upright in the living room.
The old man, aged 75, had white hair but looked young, he was in great spirits and exuded an aloof aura of a powerful and refined person.
Taya could feel the oppressive aura emanating from him even before she approached him, but she had to gather her courage, clench her fists, and walk up to him.
“Mr. Knight.””
She greeted him politely, and only then did Dominic retract his gaze from scanning the surroundings and shift it towards her.
His poised eyes were not so much sizing up Taya as they were scrutinizing her, from head to toe.
Taya felt chills all over her body as he stared at her from head to toe, and her heart was pounding with nervousness. Despite this, she did not dare to show any sign of fear on her face.
Seeing that Dominic remained silent, she pretended to be calm and invited him to take a seat, “Mr. Knight, please be seated.”
She made a gesture of invitation, hoping to have him seated on the sofa, but he raised his hand and waved, “No, I’ll just say a few words and then I’ll go.”
The old man’s voice carried a sense of vicissitudes brought on by the pa*sage of time, but he was still vigorous and powerful, with an imposing manner that made people dare not disobey his wishes.
Taya retracted her outstretched hand and looked up at the towering figure of the old man, “May I ask if there’s anything you would like to instruct?”
She did not ask him why he was here or what he came for, but instead asked if he had anything to instruct, showing full respect.
Originally, disliking her, Dominic had a look of contempt and disdain in his eyes, but it had subsided slightly after hearing her words.
He gripped his cane and looked down at Taya from his high position, “On the night when Griffon proposed to you, he invited me and all the elders of the pack. Do you know why we didn’t go?”
Taya knew the reason, but still pretended to be ignorant and shook her head, “Perhaps I can get an answer from you now.”
Dominic straightened his body and said coldly, “I don’t agree with your mating.”
After he had said his purpose for coming, Taya felt relieved inwardly, “Mr. Knight, Griffon will decide everything about our mating. If you don’t agree, you should go and discuss it with him.”
She and Griffon had gone through so much together, but when it came to the point of mating, they faced obstacles from Griffon’ elders. It was out of her control and the most immediate and effective solution was to leave it in the hands of Griffon.
Dominic was surprised that the good-looking girl was not only unafraid but calm and composed when facing him, and even threw the question back at him.
He stared at Taya, sizing her up again. This girl must have known that he had opposed the mating between them in front of Griffon, that was why she dared to be fearless and ask him to go discuss with Griffon instead.
She was very clever, no wonder his grandson was dazzled by her charm.

Dominic raised a finger and asked Taya, “First question, with your background and status, are you worthy of him?”
Taya’s heart sank and her eyes slowly lowered. As an orphan, where would she have a background to speak of.
Dominic sneered immediately when she could not answer, “I’ve researched your background, you were born an orphan, even if you’ve found your sister later, she’s just a designer, how can you be worthy of Griffon?”
Comparing based on background, Taya was indeed not a match for Griffon, but she said, “Even as a designer, my sister has achieved remarkable success in her field.”
Others may say that she was of humble origin, but she would not tolerate anyone speaking ill of her sister.
Dominic clearly looked down on an ordinary designer like her sister, but instead of arguing with Taya, he simply said emphatically, “You know that’s your sister’s achievement, and it has nothing to do with you.”
His point was her sister’s achievements were not representative of Taya’s own, and Taya agreed with that statement.
But he misunderstood her intention, she was just trying to speak up for her sister and defend her achievements.
Taya wanted to explain, but Dominic did not dwell on the first question anymore, and instead raised his second finger and asked, “My second question, Ms. Palmer, which university did you graduate from?”
This question struck deep into her soul, causing Taya to feel even more inferior.
Noticing that she was speechless, Dominic replied for her,
“You didn’t even get into Arcadia University, but only to an ordinary university, while Griffon went to Harvard at a young age. Do you think you’re worthy of him?”
Taya clenched her fists tightly. At this moment, she was not intimidated by the aura of Dominic anymore, but was filled with intense self-doubt due to his two questions.
