Charlotte was taken aback, then wisely turned and walked out. As Nelson was about to close the door, he casually remarked, “Armani doesn’t suit you.”
Charlotte’s expression changed instantly. Nelson took a few steps back to close the door when Callie came into his view.
The door across the room suddenly opened, and Callie appeared holding some documents.
Charlotte clearly saw Nelson’s face change the moment he saw Callie, his demeanor instantly becoming alert.
Callie also noticed and was momentarily stunned.
The plane had arrived at dawn. She followed the address Anthony had given her to Nelson’s hotel. With only two hours until sunrise, she feared missing Nelson’s schedule, so she rented a room to store her belongings before heading out, only to witness this scene.
An indescribable humiliation washed over her. Seeing this, Callie naturally misunderstood. The visual impact was immense; it seemed he didn’t want her to come in the first place.
Callie felt a tightness in her chest and a discomfort in her stomach. She didn’t look at the man, just gripped the door handle again and closed the door.
At that moment, she suddenly felt a gust of wind, and her wrist was grabbed forcefully. She was pulled into his room, and the door was kicked shut behind her.
Even Charlotte, no matter how clueless, understood something.
“You misunderstood.”
He trapped her in the corner, their faces so close that they could feel each other’s breath.
The way he was honest with her made her heart race.
“Who is she?” Callie asked, trying to suppress her emotions.
“You’ve met her, Jaquan’s assistant.”
“You’re talking to someone in a bathrobe?”
Nelson’s expression softened instantly. “I was too tired; I had just woken up when she arrived.”
This explanation dispelled Callie’s doubts. She sighed, reaching out to touch his finely chiseled cheek. Her eyes cleared up, dark and bright as she smiled, “You scared her just now.”
Nelson grabbed her hand. “When did you arrive?”
Callie smiled but didn’t tell the truth. “Just got here, woke you up.”
“It doesn’t matter.” Nelson’s gaze fell on the documents she was holding. Seeing the key words on them, he roughly guessed what they were about. This glance made him feel a vague sense of fatigue.
Callie seemed gentle and indecisive but was actually very smart. Smart girls had one common flaw-they liked to be serious.
She came to Afupshire today for the Oconnor Group, not for him.
Nelson looked deeply at the woman in front of him, feeling bored for the first time. He let go of her.
Callie was very rational. When she saw his expression, her heart sank: it was over.
She moved quickly. As Nelson turned around, she hugged him tightly from behind, “Anthony gave this to me, and I wanted to see you.”
She spoke quickly, urgently explaining herself.
Nelson was good at catching the point.
After hearing her words, he immediately understood that Callie’s real purpose of coming to Afupshire.
It was truly sweet; a smile easily spread to his eyes and lips, making him look gentle.
Nelson was a man, a perfectly normal man. After being stimulated by Bridger last night, he couldn’t hold back anymore with a beauty in his arms.
