[GIOSEFFO]
“Gio… I’m sorry, but I have an urgent matter to attend to. I can’t accompany you right now. But don’t worry, I sabotaged them as you instructed me to do. Marion is all yours.”
I immediately shot the man approaching me while still talking on the phone. We had been here for a while, and although we were having fun playing with them, I wanted to get to my main objective-Marion Huff.
We were on a private island owned by the Belleza family. Who would have thought that someone like them could afford a private island and hide Marion Huff here? Well, of course, they would protect Marion. He’s a pawn on the other side of the chessboard-my enemy-and the man I needed to take down.
“Don’t worry about it; I’ll handle everything here. You did great. Thanks, Arcel.” I ended the call.
I killed anyone I saw approaching without even looking at them. My focus was solely on one man-Huff. When I spotted him, I made sure I would send him to his final resting place. My men surrounded the entire island, capturing Marion’s men.
Arcel was part of the plan-a long-term one, actually. I had introduced him into Marion Huff’s life a long time ago. Ever since the day Millie found out that I had brought down the Huff company, I knew there was something hidden behind Marion, and that’s what I was trying to investigate. That’s when I planted Arcel as my spy.
Why Arcel? Besides me, among our cousins, Arcel had the lowest profile.
Only a handful of people know what Arcel Locatelli looks like or who he really is as Uncle Morgan’s illegitimate child outside our family. He’s just like me; we both detest the spotlight. So, I knew that if I sent Arcel to Marion, he wouldn’t realize that Locatelli and Azi are cousins.
Additionally, Arcel worked for a year in the investigation bureau, making him adept at this kind of work. Often, in situations like this, I entrust everything to Arcel.
Yes, their sabotages in some of our company’s transactions were part of the plan to win Marion’s trust and make him believe that Arcel is on his side. That’s where Arcel gained Marion’s unwavering trust.
There were a few miscalculations because both Arcel and I faced problems. Millie and I had a falling out, which I mishandled. As for Arcel, something happened with the girl he was pursuing, and I lost track of Marion. That’s when I lost control and let the emotions that should not be given attention take over. Well, I will never submit to them again.
When Azi and I got back on track, Marion himself sought Arcel, and we found out that Marion was indeed in Minnesota. He needed Arcel’s tactics to take us down because Marion’s strategists couldn’t match those who came from Arcel. I allowed it because it’s better for Marion to rely on Arcel so I can destroy him faster.
Accidentally, Azi spotted Millie when she first saw Marion. That’s when Arcel sent me pictures and information about Millie’s whereabouts.
I also discovered Gianna’s plans fortuitously. I overheard her talking to Carol one day, and I caught them. That’s how I found out that she was the one who saw Millie, hid it from me, and that Millie never really had amnesia.
Everything aligns with my wishes. The day I went to Minnesota is the day I promised myself I would protect Millie in a way that would never hurt or leave her. I won’t run anymore, I won’t be afraid because, truth be told, it’s scarier to live in a world without her or with her far away from me.
I know Marion is hiding now because he knows I’m looking for him. I’m letting him explore his little island. Besides, I’m certain he won’t escape. He won’t leave this place alive.
I felt someone following me from behind. I pointed my gun behind me and without hesitation, shot at whoever it was.
I looked at him over my shoulder and I shot him in the chest, where his heart lies.
“Come out, come out, wherever you are, fucker.” I gripped my gun so tightly my knuckles turned white.
I can feel it within me-the thirsty monster that will only be satisfied after I crush my enemy and see their blood leaving their lifeless body. The demon who will always rule me, and the monster I allowed myself to be controlled by.
Even so, I never lose sight of the path I want to take. Whenever I let my demon control me, I know that no one will find a weakness in me. That’s why I choose this over letting the cowardly part of my being prevail.
I will treat Millie as a source of strength and never as a weakness.
I heard a rustling sound. I paused in my tracks, and a smirk instinctively appeared on my lips.
I stopped for a moment, gauging his next move. When it became evident that he had no further steps to take, I made my own move.
I swiftly left my position, and when I saw the man I was looking for, he seemed startled.
“Oh, there you are.”
His body trembled noticeably, clearly intimidated by my presence. I didn’t understand why, at that moment, I let this person threaten me when I despised feeling threatened.
He pointed a gun at me, his hand trembling as he struggled to aim it properly at me.
I raised both of my hands in the air, inviting him to shoot me. “Go on, shoot me, Huff,” I said in a calm voice.
He attempted to shoot me again, but hesitated.
“Shoot!” My voice roared for the second time. I had no patience for people like him, especially when I knew that my wife was waiting for my return.
I took a step closer, alarming Marion. “Don’t come any closer, or I’ll shoot you.”
“Empty threats can’t do you any good. Shoot me if you can, or else, I’ll be the one to kill you, and it will be painful, Marion.”
I paid no attention to his men because my men were the ones searching for them. The only thing I truly cared about was getting this man out of my way. After killing him, I’d be done here, and I wouldn’t care about anyone else.
“I’ll kill you!” he shouted at me.
The remaining humor on my face disappeared. “Time’s up. We don’t have all day here.”
I approached him, and when he noticed, he tried to shoot me, but he only hit the gun I was holding, making me drop it.
I looked at the gun I had dropped because of his action.
“Fine, come closer! The next bullet will be in your head!”
I grazed my tongue over my lower lip. I remained silent and quickly moved closer to Marion. He attempted to shoot me again, but I swiftly grasped his hand.
We struggled over the gun, and in the end, it fell. I pinned Marion to the ground and gripped his throat, asphyxiating him.
“Gun is not the only weapon I have. I’m not going to use it for you, to begin with. An easy death is not suitable for someone who has pushed me to my limit.”
He fought to free his throat from my grip, but he couldn’t manage to remove it.
Rage consumed my thoughts. I couldn’t think of anything else except ending this one man.
“I gave you a damn chance to live and get the hell out of our lives, but you chose to defy me. Now, I’ll show you how I punish those idiots who keep defying me.” I wrapped my hand around his face, my palm covering it, and slammed him onto the concrete floor. In one swift motion, he managed to grab a knife. He tried to stab me repeatedly in my shoulder and chest, hoping I’d loosen my grip on him.
“You’re stabbing in the wrong place, you bastard. There’s no heart in there. You can’t kill me just by stabbing me. Stab wounds won’t kill me.” I said as kept crashing his head on the floor like a madman.
I was out of control, repeatedly slamming Marion’s head onto the floor while he kept stabbing me. I couldn’t feel the pain of his stabbing; my body had gone numb to the pain, and all I felt was anger and the desire to finish him.
When I saw a pool of blood flowing from his head, that’s when I calmed down and released him. Marion’s head was completely shattered from what I had done. His eyes were open but lifeless.
I was breathing heavily, looking at his lifeless body as the blood continued to flow from his head. I believe I had even crushed his skull, and a part of his brain was visible at the back of his smashed head.
A triumphant smirk appeared on my lips, as if the demon within me was satisfied by the blood of my enemy on my hands.
“G-Gio…”
That’s when the smile disappeared from my lips. I glanced at the woman who called me, and to my surprise, I saw my wife.
