Zera’s lashes fluttered in bed to find Aaron already awake and staring at her with an adorable look on his gorgeous face. She knew this look because she had seen it countless times. Just like always, there was nothing adorable about her look. She squirmed and turned to face the other side of the bed, where he wouldn’t see her face.
She heard his rich chuckle, and he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer so that her back pressed against his chest.
“Good morning, my love,” he mumbled, leaning in and placing kisses on her shoulder. This was her weak spot, and he knew it, too. She moaned, and her lashes fluttered weakly.
“Good morning, babe,” She answered, and her hand reached out so she could stroke his face tenderly before running her hands through his hair.
You’d think that being married for over a year would make this man change in his show of affection, but the truth is he didn’t; if anything, it made him worse. He could wake her up in the middle of the night with his touch, and she cannot count the number of times that have happened. He also made it very difficult to get out of bed. Yes, he has equipped himself in all areas of seduction, so that leaving him felt like a crime. Most mornings, she’d give in, and she have never regretted doing that.
“I hope you had a good sleep?” he asked, his lips brushing over her hair.
She moaned her response. “It was great.”
“Did you dream of me?” he asked his usual early morning question, which had either landed her on his good side or bad side every morning.
“I didn’t, but I hope that I will this night.”
He smiled and said, “Good, it’s our anniversary today.”
“Aaron,” she started, because today wasn’t the date of an anniversary she remembered.
He must have noticed her confusion because he asked, “You do not remember, do you?” she shook her head. “I’ll give you time to,” he said.
“I don’t think there’s any anniversary that has to do with us, Aaron.” He silenced the rest of her words when he placed his lips on hers. She smiled into the kiss and kissed back, and he pulled her to himself and on top of him. They kissed desperately and deeply, and she trailed her hand down his body, down to his belly, and then behind her to his already excited member.
This was her ideal way of starting the day. It was his too.
She finished dressing up, and she stood before the dressing mirror, staring at her reflection and her outfit. She looked great and was content with what she saw in the mirror. Slowly, she saw Aaron move on to stand behind her too; he had on navy blue suit trousers and white long sleeves, and he appeared to be doing the buttons.
He paused and took a moment to stare at her back, and through the mirror, she could see where his focus stayed: her ass.
She cleared her throat, and his head snapped up to look at her, his eyes wide but lost.
“You look…” he cleared his throat, “gorgeous.”
“You mean my ass looks gorgeous?” she corrected him with a raised brow. Her question made him realise she had seen him staring.
He didn’t try to deny it, so he smiled. “Your ass is a part of you.” He said this, stepping towards her.
She rolled her eyes and said, “Yeah, right.”
“You want to know what else is gorgeous?” He stopped moving when he came to stand behind her. “You are.” He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her against him.
He leaned in and kissed her neck. “Do you remember now?” He mumbled into the crook of her neck, and that sent tingles through her.
He had asked her what today was when she woke up earlier, and she didn’t answer because she didn’t remember, and he told her he would give her time to remember. She knew it wasn’t their wedding anniversary; they just celebrated their first year last month. It wasn’t Zion’s birthday either; they will celebrate it in two months. Aaron’s birthday would be right after the new year and hers would follow after his, so she did not know what she was missing.
Yes, work has been on her neck, but she have done her best to stay on track, at least with dates and events.
She turned around to face him and for a moment forgot to think; he looked so sinfully handsome that she almost reconsidered going to work. Aaron wouldn’t mind if she missed a day or two at work, but she didn’t want to. She have attracted a few unwanted attentions at the university in the last few months. With missing classes, turning up late for meetings and events, and also being late on her lecture timetable, the director of student affairs, Mr Gordon Cook, was on her ass about performance.
Gordon didn’t really like her very much. She got hired back at the university over six months ago, and everyone was happy to see her except him, and he didn’t hide the fact that he wasn’t happy about her return. She didn’t want to give him more reason to annoy her. Knowing Aaron, he wouldn’t mind having her home; he’d love that idea. She’ll stay home all day every day and have no reason to say no to him. She just returned to working, and she didn’t want to quit just yet.
It was too early.
Her eyes dropped from his, “I cannot remember what anniversary today is, so do you want to tell me what it is?”
“It’s been three years since the Hart company came to the States,” he told her, leaning in and kissing her lips.
“It was?” her brow narrowed because she was still trying to remember.
This wasn’t her first time celebrating this day, nor was it her second, but she still didn’t save the reminder. Aaron had told her the company was hers as much as it was his, but she always found a way to treat it like it wasn’t. she never thought to save it, but it came two months before Zion’s birthday. His calculations were correct.
He pressed his lips together and nodded. “How come you still don’t remember even after three years?” he asked, his brow raised.
“Work hasn’t been kind.” she tried her lame excuse.
His nose scrunched up, not buying what she just said. “I don’t want to compare, but I work more hours than you do, babe.”
He was right; he did, and now he just backed her into the wall. Yes, he owned the company, but he put in more hours and attention, so between the both of them, he did more work.
Despite being a sage, she had to admit Aaron had a better memory than she did. He remembered all events and dates as if they were written in the back of his mind. She, on the other hand, had to set a reminder just to remember dates that weren’t his birthday, Zion’s birthday, or their anniversary.
“Thanks for remembering.” she leaned against him and pressed her lips on his.
He kissed back, his arms wrapping around her waist. “You’re welcome, and now that you know, I hope you also know that there will be a party at the company to celebrate the event tonight. You’re my wife, and it’s proper to have you by my side.”
Her lips pressed together, and she stayed silent for a while, thinking through her schedule for the day.
“Do you have commitments into the night?” He raised a brow, but she couldn’t answer because she was thinking.
After half a minute of silence, she saw his patience go thin and his brow furrow in displeasure. That made her crack up.
“You find this funny?”
“No, but you’re adorable.” she cooed, and leaning in, she kissed his lips again. What was meant to be a quick but tender kiss turned into a deep and hard one. She knew he was taking out his frustration, and she smiled into the kiss.
His hands roamed over her body, stopping when they got to her chest, where her breasts sat, and his thumb sought out her nipples to play with them. Her bra wasn’t padded, so finding the tip was as easy as breathing, and he captured it between his thumb and pointy finger. In reaction, her nipples hardened, and she moaned into the kiss. His hands have always felt good, and in times like this, they felt even better.
He pushed his hips to grind against her and assaulted her body with pleasure while plucking and poking at her hardened nipples.
He was already driving her towards the edge, and her breathing and body must have told him that because he ground against her harder and applied more pleasure to her breast, cupping and fondling while playing with her.
She was so close to the edge when he pulled away, and a moan of desperation tore through her throat.
“No! Aaron! Please…” she couldn’t even make out sensible words because her throat ran dry, and she suddenly lost the words to say.
“You want your release? Clear your schedule and be my date tonight,” he said, stepping back from her.
He did not expect her to go to work turned on and frustrated now, did he?
He did, and that was what he hoped for.
“Aaron.”
“I will not be the reason you go late to work,” he said, as if he were the reasonable one. Since when did he give a damn about her work?
She groaned, and she could tell her face looked red. Yes, she could force her way and take her satisfaction from him, but like he said, she’d go late to work.
She growled in frustration, picked up her bag from the bed, and stormed out of the house. She entered the car and moved her mind to anything that wasn’t him because the angrier she got, the hornier she became, and so she needed to focus and keep her mind locked down.
