Who said you aren’t sexy?

Devon arrived as he promised, and my mates took him into the study. For close to an hour, they stayed in there, interrogating him about his plans. I stayed outside with Chris, who was undoubtedly fed up with me as we tried to listen to their conversation. It was fruitless, though. As the room was soundproofed, we couldn’t hear anything from out there.
Had my mates not checked on me when I entered the study with my mum, I would have likely cried until all the tears dried in my eyes and none of them would have known what was going on.
“What do you think they might be discussing in there?” I asked Chris, who was leaning on the wall, with her arms folded and a bored expression on her face. I knew she didn’t want to be here with me, seeking to listen to other people’s conversations, but she had to be. Since she pledged her life to me and offered to be my guard until death do us part, she had been keeping to her promise, unless she knew I needed space.
“What else but how to get rid of you?” She frowned, not bothering to sugarcoat her words.
“As if.” I removed my left ear from the door and walked over to the chair Chris brought over for me. She was such a darling, even though you would never hear me call her that to her face.
Relaxing on it, I let out a sigh as I fixed my gaze on the door. I was getting super worried, but I tried not to show it. What? Did I just say that? Of course, it was clear on my face that I was super worried about whatever they were discussing in there. There was certainly nothing concealing about it.
Thankfully, Chrys had gone over to their study building. It was almost like a school. The only difference was what they actually studied there. Unlike humans who studied history, mathematics, language, science and arts, they learned basic survival.
I had only been to their study building once, on the day we registered her. Thankfully, she was a werewolf, else we would have had to walk miles just to take her to the study hall of the species she fell in.
A few minutes later, the door opened and Devon stepped out. I got up from the chair, my gaze inquisitive as I looked at him, waiting for him to drop the bombshell because I knew he would.
His hair instantly changed to white as he beamed. “I passed the test!”
“Yeah!” I screamed.
One moment, I was standing in front of him and the next, I was in his arms, hugging him as far as my stomach could allow. I didn’t even realize what was happening until someone coughed.
Stepping away from him, I blushed a deep scarlet when I noticed my mates’ intense stare at me. They didn’t seem happy at all. Oh boy.
Devon looked between me and them before breaking the silence. “I will go get my belongings, my queen.” Bowing to me, he left with Chris, who offered to see him to the exit. Even without looking at her, I knew she was running from my mates.
With the two gone, my mates turned and headed into their study without saying a word, letting me know just how pissed at me they were.
Puffing out a breath, I opened the door and stepped in, closing it gently behind me. My mates were sitting behind their desks when I walked in. They didn’t look up as they pretended to be engrossed at their table.
Letting out a sigh, I closed the distance between us. It had been a long time since I saw them jealous. Though I felt oddly satisfied they still got jealous over me being close with other men. I knew I had to pacify their beasts. Makes me wonder why I even got mated to men who weren’t humans.
I’d never seen or met a man who was as territorial and possessive as my mates. I believed it all had to do with their other being.
“I didn’t mean to hug him, okay? I was just happy. It doesn’t mean I feel anything for him. He’s a kin. You know, right?”
Once more, they ignored me. Fred tapped his index finger on the table as he kept his gaze on the door, while Blue seemed to be more interested in his fingernails.
“What are you guys? Kids? I don’t even know why you are getting worked up over me hugging another man. I’m with your ring, right?” I raised my palm for them to see in case they had forgotten about it.
It didn’t get a reaction from them. They still acted like I was invincible. Puffing out a breath, I placed both hands on my waist, glaring.
“Okay, I know I shouldn’t have hugged him. Your anger is justified. I would have done the same if you hugged a woman, but you need to chill!”
Just like the first words I spoke to them, they ignored this one. I walked over to them and shook Blue to get his attention but without looking at me, he got up from the chair and walked over to the couch. Plopping down on it, he let out a sigh.
“So? Are you guys going to ignore me because I hugged another man?” I demanded.
Fred got up when I touched him and joined Blue. I noticed something, though. None of them left the room. It was almost as if they were waiting for me to do something.
When I understood that, I walked around the desk, to the couch. However, instead of saying anything, I pulled my gown over my head. After seeing how I looked in the mirror this morning, I realized I wasn’t as hot as I used to be. My shape wasn’t as it used to be. I didn’t look as sexy as I did before I got pregnant –
“Who said you aren’t sexy?” Fred growled, locking his gaze with mine for the first time since I stepped into the study.
