Failed plans

BLUE
This wasn’t how it was supposed to go. Fred and I planned to ask her to stay with us after the expiration of the contract. I had gotten everything I would say to her ready, but when she spoke those words, I lost it. It seemed like the demon I had been trying to suppress for weeks finally got out of the cage. I couldn’t even control the way I felt at that moment. I was blinded with rage and could only go with the pull of my body, not knowing what else to do.
Had it not been for Fred, I might have done something disastrous. Something I would have regretted. I was lucky he was with me, standing behind me while I tried to make a freaking fool of myself.
After I stormed up the stairs to the room, he followed behind, slamming the door shut when he stepped in, his eyes blazing with anger.
“What the freaking hell is wrong with you?!” He growled at me, his eyes narrowed to slits.
“You bloody know what that is. Quit fucking acting like you didn’t feel it!” I tugged hard on my hair, almost ripping it from its roots. I was yet to gain control of my senses. Stifling my inner monster made it deadly. It was now out, too stubborn to handle.
“But I wasn’t as mad as you were!” He yelled in my face.
“Stop fucking acting like a saint. You observed me touch her but said nothing. Don’t fucking give me that look because I know you wouldn’t have stopped me had I not gone further!”
He watched me, his eyes blazing red in fury and his fangs elongated. He looked as mad as I was, his monster at the surface.
“I had to stop it! It was the only way knowing I would only aid you should I let go of my hold on my fucking self!” He growled. “I knew one of us had to be sane!”
I watched him, panting. If there was one thing I hated about our powers, it was the beast residing within us. It was difficult to handle whenever it wanted to possess someone. There was just something about Bella that made it want to rip out of my body and possess her unlike nothing else.
Fred was the same. I could tell his monster was on the surface. We were lucky he didn’t lose control when I did. Else, we would have ended up doing something disastrous to her.
I could still recall the scared look on her face as she begged me to let go, but I couldn’t do anything, not with the hold my other self had on me. I was powerless, watching as he merged our desires for her and the need to control her. There was this insistent nagging I had to possess her, make her mine, and never let her go.
My other self wanted to lock her up and fuck her every day so she wouldn’t think of leaving us. And that was fucking crazy, deadly even.
She wouldn’t come close to us should she get to know my thoughts. I was so fucking gone, and so was Fred. Having her leave was the best thing we had ever done. Had she remained on the property after we asked her to leave, it would have been an entirely different story altogether.
…..
We stayed for a week, monitoring and protecting her from the dark as we tried to calm the raging beast. We couldn’t afford to contact her, only for our beasts to break through the barrier to hurt her.
It was still unsafe. Which was why we didn’t meet her. It wasn’t until we got ourselves calm did we thought of a way to do this.
We planned to visit her at the office. As the best journalist, we were sure the director would ask her to take us on a tour. This way, we would get her to be alone with us and apologize for what we did. It was our plan. We even went through it, from how we would approach her to the words we would say when we met her.
But it all changed when we saw her smile. Seeing her so well when we were dying inside, from being far from her made us want to hurt her. It was childish on our part, but we didn’t care, not when we wished to see her cry.
Choosing her worst enemy was the only thing we could think at the moment, and from the way her expression changed, I knew we had gotten to her. She looked as if someone kicked her favourite pet and that made us happy.
However, the happiness was short-lived when the woman we picked started chattering like a parrot.
“So, this is the director’s office,” she pointed at a place we had been to. “Though there are over 50 workers. Only 5 out of the 50 have an office. The rest shared with the others. Five or more in a room.”
I looked towards Fred, who sent a bored glance my way. He was feeling the same thing I was, also regretting our decision.
We followed the woman around, not saying a word as we tried to think of how to get to Bella. We knew she was in her office, but didn’t know how to step in without making it seem like we were looking for her.
“So, that’s all, sirs. I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did,” the woman said with a smile, looking at me. I noticed the way her eyes roamed over our bodies. Having been with my fair share of women, I knew what that look meant. Of course, every woman wants us. They can’t resist the allures of our charms. It had something to do with our vampire genres. Which was how we got any woman we wanted. No need to flash a smile. They come running the moment they see us.
“Thank you for your hard work,” Fred mumbled, his words clipped.
She blushed, tucking her hair behind her ear as she looked up at us. “If you don’t mind, I can -”
“We want nothing,” I interrupted before she could say more. I wouldn’t be surprised should she remove her clothes and lie spread on the floor for us to fuck her. It was obvious as fuck on her face.
“Oh,” she chuckled nervously, biting her lower lip. “I was just wondering if you have enough time to look through my files. I was once the best journalist here before that bitch -”
“Complete that statement if you don’t like your tongue,” I growled, taking a step towards her with a menacing smile. “Your tongue will make a delicious meal, human. Are you willing to part with it?”
“No!” Her eyes grew wide in fear as she frantically shook it, gulping. “No!”
“Oh, what a pity.” I smiled. This time, it wasn’t as dangerous as the one I flashed her way. “You can return to your office if there’s nothing more.”
“So fucking handsome,” she whispered.
Fred and I watched, shocked, when her eyes rotated, and she fell on the floor, with her right hand placed on her chest.
I exchanged looks with Fred, who just shrugged, letting me know he was as clueless as I was.
“Well, that went smoothly.” I turned and headed down the hall, knowing the woman would rise. She didn’t faint. She was just having a nosebleed from how handsome we were.
Locating Bella’s office wasn’t difficult, since we were the ones who ordered the renovation. The only task we had was how to approach her without giving anything away.
