An unhealthy relationship

Book:The Lycan Brothers' Willing Toy Published:2024-11-22

It troubled my mind as I went through everything that had happened these past few days. Was it normal? The way my body craved their touch despite the pain, and the promise of more?
Before I left the day before, Fred mentioned the toys once more, but Blue refused like always. I could tell it was only a matter of time until Blue gave in. And should that happen, where would that leave me? Moaning as I asked for more? Crying out in agony and hoping they don’t fuck me to death?
My arse and pussy ached like no man’s business. I had to take some painkillers to relieve it. Yet, I was certain I would run to them should I get a call. This isn’t fucking normal! Nothing about men who had spent all their lives in a mansion was healthy. How did they survive this long? And their wealth?
I think I know what I will ask the next time I visit them. I’d never heard of any company in their names.
I clicked my pen on my teeth, staring at Ken, the new worker in the office. He joined us a week ago. He was the epitome of handsomeness if you are into men who are soft and look more like a high school bad boy. He wasn’t even up to par with the guys I have. But I would give him some credit.
He barbed his red hair round, and what remained of it in the middle was held back with a small hair clip. Whenever he smiled, his grey eyes seemed to sparkle like rare gems, and let’s not forget the dimples on his cheeks.
All the girls, including Chris, were silently crushing on him. You could hear them sigh whenever he walked past them. They were madly crazy in love with him. Me? I constantly compared him with the brothers.
That was why I stressed that none of this was normal. And more so because he asked me out yesterday when I returned to the office, almost limping, mind you. I should have agreed right away like any other woman should, but I gave him the flat, ‘Give me some time.’
Like, what the fuck? Allow me some time to think of what? Going out with a regular man? I doubt I would have blinked twice had the brothers asked me out. Hell, I would have jumped at any opportunity to go out with Blue, even if he wouldn’t talk that much.
But when I got asked out by a man, I gave him a flat answer. God, what’s wrong with me?
Ken looked my way. He waved when he noticed me staring, and I waved back, forcing a smile. Ugh! I felt like pulling my hair off. Why couldn’t I just act normal for once?
I worried my bottom lip, thinking of the right thing to do. Should I reject his proposal or try things out with him? I mean, it wouldn’t hurt a soul should I do that, right? I think so. I would just check things out with Ken to understand what it means to be with someone.
The relationship I had with the brothers couldn’t be considered healthy, it was toxic. It wouldn’t hurt to try out a normal relationship, to know how it feels.
My phone started, taking my attention to it. I got it out of my bag, only to frown when I saw the caller’s ID. I had already saved their number, so I knew who it was. Inhaling sharply, I picked up the call.
“Hello?” My voice shook a bit. I glanced up, widening my eyes, when Ken rose from his seat. Beaming, he made his way towards me.
“We want you at our house tonight.”
“I’m afraid I won’t be available tonight. Why don’t we schedule it for tomorrow?”
I watched as Ken approached my table, still smiling, his dimples making him look so cute.
“Why? What are you busy with?” Blue’s voice had a certain edge to it.
“I…”
“Bella? Can I have a moment?” Ken asked, still beaming.
“Give me a minute. I’m making a call.” I gestured to the phone I was holding.
“Bella? Answer the damned question!”
I almost yelped at the growl that came from the phone. His use of my real name scared me. Goosebumps erupted on my skin, and I felt beads of sweat on my forehead.
“I… I have to work tonight. Chat with you later!” I stuffed the phone back in my handbag and turned to face Ken. “So… Good morning.”
“Good morning.”
There was silence after that. We stared at each other without saying a word, waiting for the first to break the stillness, and he did.
He cleared his throat. “So… About my proposal yesterday. Have you thought about it?” He asked, looking down. His dimples became too deep. You could even slip your fingers in the hole they made.
“Yes.” I nodded without a moment of hesitation, knowing I might back out should I do that. I had nothing to do tonight, anyway. “Yes. We can take this slow.”
At least, I would know what it means to go on a date and get doted on by a man, not men who fuck me every time they see me.
“Great! I will pick you up tonight?” He asked, looking hopeful, his eyes still sparkling.
“Mmm.” I nodded, smiling. This time, it wasn’t forced. It was real.
“Great! See you later!” Beaming, he turned and returned to his table while I tried to concentrate on my work.
I took out my writing pad and tried to type in some things I learned from the brothers. I was still far from getting to what I wanted, which was a filmed interview with them, but I would get there. It might not be now, but I have all the time in the entire world.
“Bella?”
My heart jumped in my throat when I heard the call. It wasn’t coming from anyone in the room but my bag.
