Book:Seduced by Danger Published:2024-11-22

In the following days, Gio tried to talk to me, but I decided not to meet him if he wasn’t willing to help me with the separation. I couldn’t afford to be weak. This was more than a simple disagreement.
I was on my way home from the office when my car broke down. I had no idea what the issue was, and there weren’t many vehicles passing by. I didn’t even know if anyone would stop to help me.
I surveyed the surroundings. The road was dark, and I couldn’t see any oncoming vehicles. My house was too far to walk.
I picked up my phone and checked who I could call. Initially, I saw Gio’s name; he was the one listed on my emergency contacts. But I shook my head and dialed Rae’s number instead.
It hadn’t been a minute when suddenly something covered my mouth and nose. I struggled, but the drug on the cloth took effect quickly, weakening me. When they put me inside the car, I lost consciousness almost immediately. I didn’t know how many hours I was out since they abducted me. Kidnapped again! How many times have I been kidnapped? Gio and I aren’t even together, and I still get kidnapped. Give me a break!
I opened my eyes. The surroundings were quiet, and all I could hear was the sound of waves crashing on the shore. I furrowed my brow when I realized I was hearing the ocean.
I winced and held my head as I sat up on a soft bed. A bed? Normally, I’m bound when I wake up after being abducted. Now, I was lying in a bed.
The door to the room opened, and I turned to look. The man who walked in was just as surprised to see me as I was to see him.
“Ma’am Millie?”
“Dario?”
We both looked shocked to see each other. He was probably surprised because I was awake, and I was equally shocked to see him here.
“What are you doing here?”
I couldn’t believe that Dario was the one I found here. He’s the one who kidnapped me? But why?
He scratched his head, clearly not sure what to say to me.
“I can’t tell you the reason, Ma’am,” he replied. “I’ve only been back for about a month, Ma’am, but I’ve heard that you and Sir Gio have separated, is that right?”
I scowled at him. It was evident that he was deflecting my question to avoid further inquiries.
“What am I doing here, Dario? Did you kidnap me? Are you a traitor?” I shouted at him.
“No, Ma’am. Dario isn’t a traitor. You’re here because I ordered them to,” another man entered the room. I was taken aback when I saw him.
His cold eyes were fixed directly on me, and it felt as if he was drawing the very essence out of me with his gaze.
“Don’t tell me.” I trailed off.
“Yes, Millie. I’m the one who had you abducted,” Gio said, his lips slowly curling upwards.
What the heck? My husband, Gio Locatelli, is my abductor?!

“What’s this scheme of yours again, Gio? Why did you kidnap me?” I irritably exclaimed.
He glanced at Dario, and it seemed Dario had deciphered his boss’s unspoken message. Dario quickly bid us farewell and left the room. I continued to lock eyes with Gio, waiting for his explanation.
He entered the room and closed the door behind him. He was dressed in a loose polo shirt and board shorts, a far cry from his usual attire. I couldn’t help but feel taken aback.
“You don’t want to talk to me, even though I’ve called you several times. You also refuse to meet me, claiming the only time you’ll speak or see me is when I agree to cooperate with your annulment request, which will never happen, Millie,” He said,
Biting my lip while still giving Gio an intense stare. I could feel the authority exuding from him, making it seem as if I were dealing with one of his subordinates.
“So, I decided to do things my way. Ever since you left the house, I allowed you to have everything you wanted. But things are getting out of hand, darling. I need to take action. I abducted you and brought you to this island, so you can never escape me, whether you like it or not.”
I stood up in shock. It wasn’t the other things he said that hit me; it was the fact that he had taken me to an… island.
My eyes widened as I recalled hearing the sound of crashing waves earlier. Without another word, I rushed out of the room. Gio called my name calmly. I didn’t stop and ran out of the house. I noticed a few of his men making way for me as they saw me running.
I came to a halt, out of breath, when I saw the vast ocean. I stared at my feet as I felt the soft sand gently caressing them.
“St-,” I cursed under my breath when I realized Gio had spoken the truth. We were on an island, and it wasn’t a public one! There were no other people here, and I couldn’t see any other establishments nearby. Besides the vast ocean, sand, and lush surroundings, there was only one house.
“You can try, Millie. There’s no escape here,” I heard Gio’s voice behind me.
I gasped but resisted the urge to turn and look at him. “This is a private island owned by our family. You can’t leave this place unless I say so.”
This was insane! I had never imagined my own husband would abduct me and take me to an island where it was just the two of us, along with his bodyguards. How was I going to get out of here?
I turned sharply to face Gio, staring at him as I marched toward him. I clenched my hands, making my way closer to him.
His expression remained unchanged. Gio kept his eyes on me as he observed my approach.
“I want to go home, Gio! Why did you bring me here?” I insisted.
“Didn’t you hear me earlier? You didn’t want to see or talk to me, so I had to take matters into my own hands to be with you,” he replied.
My jaw dropped at what he said. Gio approached me and held my chin.
“Don’t open your mouth too wide right now, darling. You don’t want anything obscene to happen in an open area,” he cautioned.
I quickly closed my mouth, appalled by his vulgar comment. Since when did he become so explicit about things? I wasn’t pleased. I didn’t want to be with him. I knew that spending too much time with him had a way of melting away my convictions and decisions. Yes, that’s the effect Gio had on me.
