Chapter 102

Book:Alpha Arthur, She is mine Published:2024-11-22

Alpha Arthur;
Inhaling sharply, I straighten up from my seating position and stroll toward Elara. Taking off my jacket, and covering her. She was lying on the private jet sofa, her body shivering. That’s the way she has been reacting ever since the death of Nova.
Elara collapsed the day we found out Nova was gone, and ever since, it has been Elara falling sick and unable to do anything. This was her own way of mourning Nova’s death.
I had no choice but to leave the Blue Moon Pack with her in this condition. We’d spent an extra two days in the Blue Moon Pack because of the news of Nova, but Elara and I had to return. We couldn’t stay back to attend Nova’s burial.
“How are you feeling, Elara?” My fingers gently comb through her hair as I sit beside her.
“Same way, Alpha Arthur,” she responds with a quivering voice. Drops of tears roll down the sides of her eyes.
“Don’t worry, babe. You’re gonna be fine,” pulling forward and gently kissing her forehead. “I have some snacks for you. Do you want them?”
“No….. Alpha Arthur, I’m good. I just need more rest,” she lightly sniffs, closing her eyes shut in an immediate deep sleep. I know best not to bother her.
But I hope she gets through this. She’s the only one who can bring herself out of this situation. What was wrong with her was a mental and emotional problem. I feel the soul-switching made her connect to Nova so well, that she could feel whatever Nova was feeling.
Now Nova is no longer in the picture, Elara needs to find a way to disconnect from her. It’s a mental and emotional battle. I hope she’s able to pull through this storm.
Shooting Elara one last glance of concern, I push myself up from the seat and casually move to the other side of the jet. There is a lot for me to worry about. The madness that has been going on in my pack and ways to restore peace.
I’ve heard way so much negative news coming from different packs about my pack. The fact I left for another pack with a lady, was the topic on the lips of everyone. This is because Loki has failed in his duties. It’s quite surprising to me. Loki is one of the most vibrant Betas that existed in all the packs put together.
So what is it with him this time?
Why did he turn out to be very incompetent during this period? There were times I had traveled to other packs to handle crazy events, leaving the pack in the care of Loki, and he always did a good job.
But this time…. (softly breath).
I’ve not called him for days. I’m too mad to speak with him. I hope he has a tangible reason for letting Chloe take over my responsibilities. As for Chloe, I need to know the level she has gone with her madness, so as to know how well I will punish her.
But for the time being, let me try to focus on something else. I might go crazy if I allow the thoughts of everything to overwhelm me.
My hand snakes, reaching for the magazine right in front of me. Never been a fan of fashion magazines but I need something that can serve as a distraction.
Slowly, I flip the pages. My gaze scans through each picture and article. Nothing interesting to see here, but I need to keep reading.
“Alpha Arthur, we are landing soon,” my pilot informs me through the PA microphone.
I slightly inhale, closing the magazine. Standing up, I stroll toward Elara, sitting beside her once again. My palm strokes her hair, but making sure not to wake her up.
A few more seconds, the jet descends, and comes to a stop. We’ve arrived.
I yank Elara closer, lifting her from the sofa into my arms. She stays cuddled closer to my chest as I make my way out of the jet. Heading straight to the convoy already prepared for my arrival, I gently fixed Elara in the back seat of a car and also sank my ass right beside her.
Her hand rests on my shoulder as she sleeps peacefully.
My convoy driving into my Pack, the atmosphere in my pack feels very different. There were scents of death, fear, and pain lingering. Everywhere seems calm.
My once joyful pack feels like a graveyard. Honestly, what happened here?
This is becoming more than I expected.
We get to my mansion, and the cars come to a stop. Carefully, I step down, carrying Elara in my arms as I did earlier. Everyone bows in respect as they set their eyes on me.
I notice the smile that lit up their faces as I walk past each of them. They’re excited about my return. But fucking wait a minute…. Why do I have so many maids in my house like this is a slave community? And what is this thing they are wearing?
I will get to the bottom of all this madness. First, Elara needs to have a proper rest.
My feet stroll into my bedroom, and I gently lay Elara on the bed. I’m glad she is asleep. Don’t want her to be a part of all this madness.
Confirming Elara is comfortable and sleeping peacefully, I make my way back to the living room. My movement stops mid-way. My lips twist to the sides, a hostile smile playing on them as I set my eyes on Loki.
There was fear written all over his face, and filled in his eyes.
Shoving my hands in my pockets, moving slowly toward him, “What happened here, Loki? Why does my pack reeks of blood, pain, tears, and sadness? What did you do in my absence?” My voice is calm but filled with anger.
“I’m very sorry, Alpha Arthur. I deserve to be punished,” he goes down on his one knee before me. His head bowed.
“This doesn’t give me the answers I need, Loki. I know you will be sorry the moment you set your eyes on me but what I need is an answer,” for the first time, I’m seeing my best friend as just a pack Beta but not my best friend.
My heart is already breaking. I’m sensing betrayal but I pray it shouldn’t be the case. I don’t know if I will be able to stand it and descend punishment on Loki. Please, Goddess, his response should come from a place of; he got carried away with something else that has nothing to do with me. And not Loki betraying me for real.
I’m not sure I can stand it.
“I don’t think Beta Loki will be able to give you any response ’cause he can’t speak about his actual reason for letting Chloe…. Sorry, Luna Chloe, take full control over him,” Kalus’s voice that echoes from the entrance of the living room gets my attention.
My head snaps away from Loki, my eyes set on Kalus, “I thought you’ve returned to your pack, why are you still here?” I’m in no mood for his bullshits.
“First of, welcome back, Alpha Arthur. I’ve been waiting for your return so I can carry out my assignment,” he chuckles dryly.
“Kalus, I’m not interested in your games.”
“I’m not here to play games either. But you need to see this,” he steps closer to me, stretching his phone at me. “For your eyes only, Alpha Arthur.”
Snatching the phone from him, “This better be something….” My voice makes a quick stop, halfway in my throat as my eyes land on the screen of Kalus’s phone.
Slightly tilt my head to get a better understanding of what I’m watching – Loki making out with Chloe.
I scoff hard, shaking my head and blinking hard. This is real! These two were fucking themselves behind me. I mean, Loki was fucking my Luna, and because of his cock, my pack and my people had to suffer.
Fuck!!
Not the betrayal. Not my best friend betraying me, the pack, and his duties because of her. This is the last thing I had expected.
Sending my gaze back to Loki, my hand clutches into a fist. My heart pounding in anger. “Why, Loki!!? Why must it be her!!? Why did you do this to us when you know the consequences!!? Fucking tell me why!!?” I roar, punching my fist into the wall.
