Graham acted quickly after receiving the latest news from Ivan. He immediately sought out Kendrick to report.
“Alpha.”
Kendrick turned around. The arrival of Graham and his demeanor made him immediately ask, “Is there any news from Ivan?”
“Yes,” Graham replied, stopping in front of Kendrick. He continued, “Ivan and the elite warrior team are ready, Alpha. They are on standby to launch the attack in thirty minutes. Ivan awaits your command.”
A faint frown appeared on Kendrick’s forehead. “How are their preparations?”
“Ivan has divided his elite team into three core groups. Each will attack using guerrilla tactics,” Graham answered clearly. He then explained the focus of each group’s attack. “This strategy is risky, but Ivan has ensured that their movements will not be detected by the Nimbria pack.”
Kendrick nodded once. “I am well aware of their expertise. Ivan and his elite team are very skilled at guerrilla tactics. The chances of success are high, but we cannot stand idly by.” After considering many factors, he made a decision. “Prepare the palace warriors, Graham. I will lead them directly. We will be on alert for all eventualities. If something happens to Ivan and the elite team of warriors, we must move forward as well. For that, instruct Odin to maintain the palace defenses without any gaps.”
“Understood, Alpha.”
Kendrick’s face became even more serious. His eyes narrowed and he said, “In the name of the Frostholm Pack, I, Alpha Kendrick Thorne, order Ivan to lead the attack against the Nimbria Pack.”
With Kendrick’s order, Graham nodded and gave a quick salute before leaving. He hurried to contact Ivan and inform him that Kendrick’s orders had been given.
Moments later, the palace was on high alert. Kendrick and Jemma were preparing to enter the battlefield and ensure that the Frostholm Pack’s attack was executed flawlessly.
The palace’s elite warriors had gathered, ready to receive Kendrick’s final orders before moving out. Their eyes were focused and unwavering, radiating the spirit and determination to protect the pack with all their might.
At the front, Kendrick stood tall with Jemma and Graham. Their eyes were fixed straight ahead, as if they could see through the towering trees. The tension was palpable, evident in Kendrick’s stern expression.
“Alpha.” Graham approached and bowed his head slightly. His voice was soft, but full of respect. “The palace warriors are ready. All are in position. We await your command.”
Kendrick took a deep breath. The weight of responsibility weighed heavily on his shoulders. But he was determined to uphold the glory of the Frostholm Pack, even if it meant sacrificing his own life.
Kendrick’s eyes swept the rows of warriors at Frostholm Palace. He saw their unwavering readiness. Then his gaze fell on Jemma.
They remained silent. Kendrick said nothing and neither did Jemma. But their glances spoke a language only the two of them understood.
They would face this trial together. They would strengthen each other and fight side by side.
The fire of determination blazed within Kendrick. His eyes glowed with intense determination. Then he spoke aloud. “In the name of the Frostholm Pack, I, Alpha Kendrick Thorne, command you to advance and defend our territory to the last drop of our blood. We will defeat the Nimbria Pack!”
Kendrick’s voice echoed throughout the territory. His words ignited the spirit of the palace warriors, boosting their morale. They shouted with all their might, their blood boiling, creating a wave of courage that merged with every breath they took.
Meanwhile, in the warrior barracks, Ivan and his elite team had gathered. The atmosphere was no less tense, but it was filled with the calmness that only comes from those who have been to the front lines of war and faced death on the battlefield time and time again.
Ivan stood among them. He gave the final instructions, making sure each member of the elite team understood their tasks without missing a detail. Then he looked at all the members of the elite team and gave them a quick nod. Then they left the barracks according to plan.
The night was ominous. The sky was shrouded in dark clouds that hung low, as if pressing down on the earth with an invisible weight. A drizzle fell slowly, silently between the towering trees. Each drop carried a chill that crept through the skin, sending shivers that pierced the bones. The moonlight could barely penetrate the thick layer of clouds, leaving only a faint shadow on the wet ground. As the clouds thickened, darkness became inevitable.
Everything was dark. The darkness enveloped perfectly. Vision was obscured, allowing the elite Frostholm team to move freely according to plan. They moved like shadows. They were invisible, but always ready to strike at the right moment.
Ferdie and the first group went to the east side. They waited in silence for a moment before launching their attack in the silence. The Nimbria warriors were taken by surprise. They barely had time to blink before fangs sunk into their necks. Claws pierced their hearts. They died without even a chance to scream.
On the other side, the second group began to advance from the north. They infiltrated skillfully through narrow gaps between rocks and bushes, using the darkness of the night as a shield, an ideal cover. One by one, the Nimbria warriors were quickly and mercilessly neutralized. They had no time to react. Too late to realize the attack, they found that the command of their warrior groups had already fallen.
The leader of the Nimbria warriors-Ronan Bryan-was furious. His anger made his chest burn. He howled and ordered his remaining warriors to fight back. But they found none. The Frostholm elite team had expertly hidden in the darkness.
The Nimbria warriors were confused. They panicked. Ronan couldn’t risk it. So, he ordered the warriors to retreat immediately. They headed for the southern side of the Eresca Valley. But there the third group was waiting for them.
The Nimbria warriors were trapped. They had no way out, and that was when Ivan arrived in full force.
