Tomas.
“Honey, good morning! I’ll take my leave now to get ready. I’ll meet you later at the wedding,” I said as I kissed Jennifer’s forehead while she was still sleeping in bed. I felt a surge of optimism about our wedding day. They say I shouldn’t see my bride on the day of the wedding, which is why I hurried to leave as daylight streamed into the room, waking me up. A new day, a fresh start! I stretched my arms in the air, a gigantic smile spreading across my face.
“Good morning! Where are you going, Tomas? Wait!” Jennifer called out, her voice still sleepy.
I waved my hand back at her. “You can tell me anything you want over the phone, but right now, I have to disappear.” I threw a kiss in her direction, and she giggled, “Dammit, you’re totally crazy! I just wanted to tell you I have a surprise for tonight. But you rushed off. After the wedding, you’ll be shocked!”
I heard her, but it didn’t matter. We had the rest of our lives to make love at night. All I cared about was having her by my side forever. I shut the door behind me and walked toward Jimmy’s room.
“Hey, Jimmy! Wake up. Dress well for tonight!” I shook him, but he didn’t wake up. He merely waved me off, nudging his nose as if I were a pesky insect. So, I grabbed a water jar and dumped it all over his head.
“Ouch! What the hell?! It’s so cold, man! What time is it?” Jimmy yelled, rubbing his eyes.
“It’s 10 AM, so get up!” I smirked.
“Just 10 AM? Why are you here? It’s your wedding, not mine!” He covered his head with the blanket and started to snore.
“What the-? He fell asleep again in seconds! Is he an alien or what?” I muttered, grabbing pillows to hit him. “Wake up! Who said it’s not your wedding too?” I shrieked, narrowing my eyes at him.
“You’re going to kiss my ass after tonight, Jimmy,” I teased, giving him a devilish smile.
He finally raised his head, squinting at me. “What do you mean, Tomas?”
“Just get up! Move your butt, dude! Let’s get you dressed and take a fast shower first. Oh, and by the way, the wedding is at 3 PM, not at night. Hurry up! I’ll check on Olga.” I informed him as I left the room, heading to Olga’s suite.
I knocked several times. She was already up. “Good morning, Olga!” I smiled.
“Good morning, Mr. Tomas!” she replied with a bright smile.
“I guess you’re ready?” I winked at her.
“Ready for what, sir? You mean for Miss Jennifer’s wedding?” she asked, her eyes wide in confusion.
I scratched the back of my head. “Oh yes, that’s what I meant. Could you please go to Jennifer’s room now? Remember, you both must wear white wedding dresses.”
“Yes, sir, but why me too? That’s a bit weird,” Olga stammered.
“It’s not weird. The wedding planner said so. I guess it’s about the theme-something white, that’s all. Anyway, go now! Hurry up, the wedding is at 3 PM!” I turned to walk away, trying to avoid any more questions.
“But sir, you said it would be at night! We don’t have time for this!” Olga exclaimed, dropping her jaw in disbelief.
I glanced back at her. “It’s okay. I just want to marry Jennifer, regardless of what she wears. Love means accepting the other person, even in their worst moments.”
Olga nodded, looking convinced. I managed a chuckle as I saluted her and headed to the lobby to check on everything else. As I walked, I pulled out my phone. “Hey, Carl, what’s up?”
“Tomas, everything is under control. Just come down to me. I have a surprise for you,” Carl said, sounding mischievous.
“Okay, I’m on my way. Meet you at the pool,” I replied.
“No, I changed the plan. Come to the ballroom instead,” Carl giggled.
I pushed open the door to the ballroom. “Well, well, Carl, it’s impressive, but why all the guards here?” I furrowed my brows.
“Sir, tonight will be a formal night. We want everyone to remember who you are. We can’t risk anyone making an undesirable move,” Carl explained.
“Okay, I need to head to the spa. Have you invited Olga’s father and her fiance? The one she’s supposed to marry?” I raised an eyebrow.
“Yes, everything is set. They’ll be here at 2:30. Just finish what you’re doing, and I’ll take care of the brides and the other groom. This will be hilarious!” Carl chuckled.
“I hate your evil plans, Carl,” I said, patting his shoulder as I walked to the spa.
At 2:30 PM, I started to feel the nerves kicking in. I was getting married-a real marriage! I slipped into my suit and hurried to exit the room. Arlo entered just then.
“Are you ready, Tomas? Everyone is waiting!” he said.
“Yes!” I confirmed, trying to calm my racing heart.
“Cool! Do you want to make a grand entrance or keep it lowkey?” Carl asked.
“Go get Jennifer and Jimmy. Let Jimmy walk her down the aisle, and you take Olga’s hand. Five minutes later, you’ll find me in the ballroom waiting for my bride,” I instructed.
He nodded and dashed off. Five minutes later, I strode confidently into the ballroom, a determined expression on my face.
As I entered, everyone started clapping. I walked to the stage and grabbed the microphone, gesturing for everyone to quiet down. “Hello everyone! I guess we’re all here for my wedding.” I paused as I spotted Jennifer walking toward me, radiant in her white dress, her shy smile lighting up the room.
“I can hardly believe I’m staring at my lovely bride walking toward me. Please, Jimmy, come here with my beautiful bride!” I said into the mic. When they reached me, Jimmy was about to step away, but I grabbed his hand. “Don’t move! I have a little surprise for you.”
Everyone looked on with curiosity as Carl appeared, holding Olga’s hand. “Please, Carl, bring Olga to the stage.” The look on Jimmy’s face was priceless-he was frozen, staring at Olga, his jaw dropped in shock.
“Olga! Why are you wearing a wedding dress?” her father shouted from the audience.
“Hold on a second! I didn’t give you permission to speak. Have a seat,” I commanded, and he fell silent, clearly taken aback.
I handed Olga’s hand to Jimmy. “Take her hand, Jimmy! Don’t be a fool!”
“What’s going on here, Tomas?” Jennifer exclaimed, eyes wide.
“This is a double wedding! I’m marrying Jennifer, and Jimmy will marry Olga!” I said with a devilish grin, eyeing Olga’s father. “Does anyone have an objection?”
Olga’s father stood up, visibly upset. “Yes! She has a fiance, Mr. Tomas!”
A guy stood up, introducing himself as Olga’s fiance. “Yes, I’m her fiance, Mr. Tomas.”
I glared at him. “You don’t want me to shoot you now, do you?” I threatened, and he quickly sat back down, looking terrified.
“Even so, Mr. Tomas, I’m her father, and I didn’t give permission for this,” Olga’s father protested.
I threw the microphone toward him, my patience wearing thin. “Don’t forget who I am! Sit down, or I’ll make you regret it,” I warned, my tone firm. He knew well who I was, a king in the mafia world.
“Please, I just want to ask her if she really wants to marry Mr. Jimmy,” he said, his voice trembling.
“Do you want to marry Jimmy, Olga? Don’t be afraid; if you don’t want this, I won’t force you,” I said, locking eyes with her.
She giggled and nodded shyly. “Yes!”
Jimmy’s face lit up. “Really, Olga? You’d marry me?”
“Yes, idiot!” she laughed, and he wrapped her in a tight embrace, both giggling.
And just like that, we were married.

After the wedding, Jennifer and I were completely in love, and everything felt perfect. Fate had finally smiled upon us. Jennifer soon discovered she was pregnant, and we were both overjoyed. Even Jimmy and I had raised the white flag of peace; we talked and hung out as best friends.
Jimmy and I worked together, hand in hand, supporting each other. We kept our past lives tucked away, but we were determined to build a future. I had tried to step away from my mafia ties, but the world didn’t let go easily.
I realized that if I lost my power, I’d be vulnerable to my enemies. So, together with Jimmy, we navigated our lives as both businessmen and brothers.
Life had thrown us challenges, but we faced them together. I knew that my family-my wife and future child-was everything. With love and hope in our hearts, we moved forward, ready to embrace whatever came next.
The past was behind us, and we were ready for a beautiful future filled with love, laughter, and the promise of new beginnings.
The End
