Tomas.
Reflecting on what transpired later at the pool, I found myself engulfed in a whirlwind of doubt and uncertainty regarding Jennifer’s intentions. There was a nagging part of me that worried, as Amanda had suggested, that Jennifer might do something terrible to my young child, driven by some twisted sense of revenge or jealousy. Yet, deep down, my heart refused to fully accept that possibility. I knew that Jennifer was fundamentally sweet and kind-hearted. Having grown up orphaned, she had a unique understanding of the complexities involved in dealing with children that many others lacked. After she had saved my son, I took a moment to halt Amanda from speaking, wanting to give Jennifer the space she needed to care for Tomas without any interruption or added stress.
Watching Jennifer’s worried expression as she tended to my son filled me with an unexpected sense of hope. I couldn’t help but wish fervently that Tomas were Jennifer’s child instead of Amanda’s. Yet I was also painfully aware of my own emotions. Despite what others might say about me being a notorious womanizer, I had never actually crossed any lines with Jennifer. It was a bizarre situation, considering my reputation, and it left me feeling conflicted.
“Amanda, please don’t make such a fuss,” I said, trying to keep my voice steady and calm. “You messed up with my son. Don’t you think it might be better for all of us if we let Jennifer take over this position for now?” I sighed, shaking my head slightly as I stepped closer to Amanda, trying to gauge her response.
“Tomas!? What are you saying?! What position do you mean? You want her to be my son’s mother!?” Amanda stared at me, her eyes wide with disbelief and a mix of anger.
“Oh, don’t be silly. Of course not! I simply mean as a babysitter. I need you to be with me at the company, working alongside me. You already know so much about my work, and you understand Cercus and the ins and outs of our business. This will make things a lot easier for us. But let’s be real: acting like a devoted mother doesn’t suit you at all. I know you love your son, but don’t kid yourself. You live away from him a lot, so it isn’t that hard.” I smirked, spinning my head back to look at Amanda, waiting for her response, hoping she would see my perspective.
“Um, I guess you’re right, Tomas. I’m not that great at watching over little kids, but we could probably find a good babysitter for Tomas,” Amanda suggested, her tone softening slightly as she considered my words.
“No, Jennifer will take care of him. I’m sure of it. End of discussion, Amanda. I’m not asking for your permission here; I’m just letting you know what I’ve decided.” I turned away, walking down the hall before stopping to glance back at her. “By the way, Amanda, sleep well tonight because tomorrow you’ll be with me at the office. We have a lot of work to catch up on. We’ve wasted enough time as it is,” I said sternly before leaving her to ponder my words.
The next morning, I woke up early, eager to get the day started. I knocked on Amanda’s door and waited for a response.
“Oh, you’re ready! That’s good, that’s my girl,” I said, raising my eyebrows and smiling as I walked ahead, feeling her follow me closely.
When we arrived at the office, Carl was waiting for us, but something strange and annoying caught my attention. When I opened the door to my son’s room to kiss him good morning, I found Jennifer sleeping next to him, hugging him softly like an angel. It was a tender scene, yet what bothered me even more was that Amanda hadn’t even thought to check on her son before leaving. It struck me as odd, almost heartless. I may have been known as the most heartless man in the world, but after looking at my son’s sweet, innocent face, I realized he was the best thing that had ever happened to me. His baby face, with its cute smile, melted the darkness that had long lingered inside me.
We left for the office and took our seats to discuss the new position I planned to offer Amanda. She had been a police officer and was incredibly smart, knowledgeable about my illegal operations. A few minutes later, I asked the secretary to bring in Mr. Cercus for an urgent meeting.
Cercus knocked on the door, and I let him in, ready to get down to business.
“Come in, Cercus, and shut the door behind you,” I commanded. He complied, but just as he did, someone unexpectedly stuck their hand in and pushed the door open.
I stood up, staring at the door in disbelief. “What the hell?!” I shrieked, the surprise catching me off guard.
The door opened slowly, and the shock of seeing Jennifer standing there hit me like a freight train. She smiled brightly as she entered. “Good morning, everyone! Sorry for being late,” she giggled, strolling toward my desk and sitting on it as if it were the most natural thing in the world, looking at me and Amanda. “Oh, I see you were getting ready for your meeting. You should start from the beginning,” she chuckled, seemingly unfazed by the tension.
“What the hell are you doing here, Jennifer?!” I narrowed my eyes at her, feeling the tension in the room rise to an uncomfortable level.
“Oh, what a silly question, Mr. Tomas! Did you forget that I’m your private secretary and your fi-a-n-c-e-e?” She laughed hysterically, staring at me with mischief in her eyes.
“What are you talking about?! You can’t be here!” Amanda yelled at Jennifer, her voice sharp and defensive, clearly feeling cornered.
“And who are you to tell me that!” Jennifer shot back, standing up and striking the desk with her hand, her voice dripping with disdain and defiance.
“I’m… Amanda,” she stuttered, looking away as Jennifer widened her eyes, the jealousy practically radiating off her.
“Stop this fight right now! We are not in kindergarten! This is my office, so shut the hell up!” I shouted, looking at both of them in frustration.
Jennifer spun her head back to me, her demeanor shifting slightly as she realized the gravity of the situation. “I’m here now, Tomas. I’ll just go back to my office,” she said, trying to diffuse the tension. She walked a few steps before stopping, glaring at Amanda. “Oh, I totally forgot that my office is here, in Tomas’s office. Now let’s all start this meeting. But first, I have someone I’d like to introduce to all of you,” Jennifer announced, her tone shifting to something more serious.
As I sat there, glued to my seat, I wondered what she was planning. A few seconds passed as I waited to see who this mysterious person was, and I couldn’t shake the feeling of unease. Then, to my shock, she entered the office holding my son Tomas, opening a lollipop for him and tickling him until he smiled.
I blew a breath away, running my fingers through my hair in frustration. I hit the desk with both hands, then turned my body to face her. “What the hell are you trying to do here? How could you bring a little child into an office?!” I glared at her, my frustration spilling over.
“So what? I’ll take care of him too; it’s not a big deal. I can’t leave him at home. He’s a little baby, and I love him so much. After all, he is your son. Don’t worry; this will be fun,” Jennifer replied, laughing and kissing Tomas on the cheeks, seemingly unfazed by my concerns.
“God, you are so insane!” I widened my eyes at her, somewhat incredulous. Amanda rushed over to pick up her son, but he started to cry heavily, clinging to Jennifer and refusing to leave her side.
“Stop, Amanda! Don’t you see that you’re hurting him!” I yelled, feeling the tension rise further.
“What are you saying, Tomas? He is my son, not hers!” Amanda yelled back, frustration evident in her tone.
“Amanda, come over here! We can’t waste all day like this. We need to work, and besides, Jennifer is totally useless in the office. At least she can do something productive by taking care of a child!” I smirked, glancing back at Jennifer.
Jennifer huffed, furrowing her eyebrows in disbelief. “I’m useless? Okay, Tomas, let’s see. Anyway, I’m so proud that I can care for a life instead of destroying one,” she shot back, her voice strong.
We began our meeting, setting boundaries and dividing responsibilities between Cercus and Amanda. But I was completely distracted by Jennifer. While she played with my son, I felt a pang of jealousy as he climbed her legs, reaching out to touch her and play with her hair. I couldn’t concentrate at all.
“Stop this now, Jennifer! I can’t focus!” I yelled at her in exasperation, feeling the pressure mounting.
She raised her head, staring at me with wide eyes, her expression challenging. “You can’t concentrate because of what?!” she challenged, her tone sharp.
I cleared my throat, trying to regain my composure. “Um, I mean, please take my son and do something outside of my office until I finish this meeting,” I said more politely, hoping to regain some control.
She giggled, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “We will, but after you finish. I thought we should go buy some baby stuff for our little Tomas. I want to prepare a baby room full of toys for him…” she smiled brightly, her enthusiasm contagious.
Oh God, I felt a surge of jealousy wash over me! How could this happen? My son was squeezing Jennifer’s waist, and I knew he was just a baby wanting affection. But my body felt hot, and I was sweating everywhere. I couldn’t concentrate as I watched her tugging her fingers through his hair, kissing his cheeks softly. It made me feel flushed, embarrassed, and aroused all at once.
For the first time, I realized that I hadn’t paid attention to Jennifer’s body before. She was incredibly sexy and attractive, but now, in the office, I couldn’t help but notice every little movement she made: the way she smiled, how she bent her legs, or even when she sat on a chair and crossed her legs. The way her skirt rose up from the wind drove me wild.
What frustrated me even more was that I hadn’t touched her at all, even when she teased me and took off her clothes. I treated her like she didn’t matter, and that realization gnawed at me as I whispered in my mind after we finished the meeting in my office. I needed to seduce her now. I couldn’t handle this heat any longer; the tension was unbearable.
After the meeting, and after a very long day filled with appointments, Jennifer informed me that we had to go shopping. She insisted that I should accompany her, and I reluctantly agreed, knowing that my feelings for her were becoming harder to ignore.
