Jack.
After what happened with Jennifer, I have to admit that I was incredibly worried about her well-being. My mind was swirling with anxiety, imagining all the possible scenarios that could unfold. Yet, surprisingly, amidst that worry, I felt a strange sense of relief and comfort in knowing that she seemed to forget all about Tomas. It was a peculiar mix of emotions, a cocktail of hope and uncertainty, but I couldn’t help feeling a flicker of optimism about the future. Maya approached me, asking me to walk with her, which gave me the perfect excuse to step away from the chaos surrounding Jennifer for a little while.
“Now, Jack, it’s your chance. Use this opportunity! It’s a miracle, don’t you think so? Use our deal to finish all of this. This must end immediately,” Maya urged me, her intensity reflected in her eyes, which sparkled with determination.
“But why? She already forgets about Tomas. I don’t need to tell him anything! Jennifer will ask to come back with me, and this is enough,” I replied, trying to convince her that things were already falling into place, that the tides had shifted in my favor.
“What? Are you an idiot?! Do you really think that Tom will just leave her? Do you have any idea what I did to make him hate Tomas and forget about him like this? I went to Tomas’ room while he was sleeping and tried to seduce him, but he denied me and refused to touch me. Luckily, at that moment, Jennifer entered the room. That’s all it took! He still wants her! He is stubborn, for God’s sake! He will never let anyone take what belongs to him!” Maya informed me with urgency, her frustration evident as she paced back and forth.
“What?! So Tomas didn’t betray her! It was just a misunderstanding?!” I asked, my eyes widening in disbelief as the realization sank in.
“Yes, so accept it and finish our deal now,” Maya insisted, her tone demanding, leaving no room for negotiation.
Before she could say more, we heard Tomas’s voice talking with Jennifer, so we hurried back to the room to see what was happening. Tomas was telling Jennifer to get ready because they would be returning home soon, his tone authoritative and final.
In a rush, I moved towards Tomas, interrupting him before he could speak further to Jennifer. “Tomas, please come with me. We need to talk,” I said firmly, cutting through the tension that hung heavily in the air.
He spun his head towards me, confusion written on his face, brows furrowing. “What do you mean? We don’t have anything to discuss! Jennifer will come with me to our house, and that’s final,” Tomas informed me with a sense of authority, his voice leaving no room for dissent.
“No, she is not going anywhere with you, Tomas! Come with me first! I remember you asked me a question before, and I said I would tell you the story after saving Jennifer,” I insisted, determined to get through to him, to break through the walls he had built around his intentions.
Tomas narrowed his eyes at me, a storm brewing behind them, and we walked outside the room, distancing ourselves from Jennifer, who looked lost and confused.
Tomas stopped, looking at me with intensity, his stance rigid. “Now what, Jack? What do you want to tell me about?” he asked, his voice low but charged with emotion, the air thick with unspoken tension.
“Jennifer used to be my girlfriend; she lived with me at my house. We did everything together. I was the first man in her life, and I’m sure she didn’t forget that,” I said, trying to convey the gravity of our past, the memories that lingered like shadows in the corners of my mind.
Tomas stepped closer, his eyes narrowing in anger, the muscles in his jaw tightening. “What the hell are you trying to tell me, Jack?” he shouted, his frustration palpable, echoing in the hallway.
“I’m telling you, Jennifer is not the innocent girl you think she is. I broke up with her, that’s all. I became famous and was surrounded by many girls, so I left her with a broken heart. If you don’t believe me, check social media; you will find many pictures of us as a couple,” I informed him, desperate to make him understand the complexity of our history.
“So you’re trying to convince me that she was a liar?! All this time, she was cheating on me?” Tomas smirked, his tone dripping with skepticism, as if my words were absurd.
I gasped, my frustration boiling over. “I don’t know why she did that, but she wants me now. She needs me, and I guess that should be enough. She has faced so much with you here; just leave her alone, Tomas,” I pleaded, hoping to sway him, to make him see reason.
Tomas pushed past me, heading back to Jennifer’s room, and I followed closely behind, my heart racing. He pulled Jennifer’s hand roughly. “Now, wear your clothes! We are coming back home!” Tomas shouted at her, his frustration boiling over as he towered over her.
Jennifer started to cry, trying to pull away from him, her voice trembling. “Stay away from me… I don’t know you…” she sobbed, visibly shivering from the emotional turmoil that enveloped her.
I clenched my teeth and shouted, “Stay away from her, Tomas! That’s enough! I told you she’s mine. We used to date, and we will start over again!” I confronted Tomas, my anger mounting as he shot me a deadly look, the tension between us sparking like a live wire.
“Kid, stay away or I will kill you!” Tomas threatened me, his voice low and dangerous, the menace in his tone sending chills down my spine.
### Jennifer
When I heard Jack telling Tomas that we used to date, I wanted to shoot myself at that moment! What the hell was he doing? What was I supposed to do now? I decided to stay silent and see how the situation unfolded, hoping to gather my thoughts amidst the chaos. I had put myself in a difficult position, and I didn’t know how I would come out of it or even survive after this confrontation.
Tomas insisted on taking me with him, but Maya stepped in to stop him, her voice steady and persuasive. “Tomas, wait a second, please! I think we should all stay here. Maybe she will regain her memory if we all remain around her. And as the doctor informed us before, she needs some rest,” Maya said, her tone calm yet firm, trying to diffuse the tension in the room.
“I agree with this, Mr. Tomas,” Carl chimed in, trying to back her up, his voice steady as he looked between the two of them.
Tomas looked at Carl, then nodded reluctantly, his frustration still palpable. He left the room with Carl, heading down to the pool area, leaving a charged silence in their wake.
Jack started talking to me, taking care of me, and he even asked the maid to prepare dinner for me. He was being attentive, but at the same time, I wanted to kill him for what he had just said. I kept glancing at Maya, who was smiling in happiness over the chaos that had unfolded. I couldn’t help but notice the tension in the room, especially between Maya and Jack. What had Jack said to Tomas? Was there more to this story than I realized? I was whispering these questions in my mind, trying to piece it all together, my heart racing with uncertainty.
### Tomas
“Mr. Tomas, you said you don’t know if you love Jennifer or not? So why are you so angry like this?” Carl asked me, his brow furrowed in concern, his eyes searching mine for answers.
“Because she was cheating on me! I’m the mafia king, for God’s sake! How could a little girl like her do this to me? Jack told me that he used to date her, that they lived together. What the hell is this?! A joke?! She was playing with me! I thought she was so innocent!” I vented, frustration pouring from me like a raging river.
“Are you sure, Mr. Tomas? Maybe he is just lying!” Carl suggested, trying to keep my anger in check, his voice soothing yet firm.
I rubbed my face and huffed, the weight of the situation pressing down on me. It dawned on me that Jack might have been trying to manipulate me into breaking up with Jennifer. Even so, I was left feeling angry and confused. “I don’t know, Carl, but right now! I want you to hire investigators to find out everything about this situation and about her and Jack. Prepare all the men; we are moving tonight. I will take Jennifer home,” I commanded Carl, my voice firm, each word dripping with authority.
“Yes, Mr. Tomas. I will get right on it,” Carl replied, understanding the urgency in my tone.
An hour later, I walked to Jennifer’s room, pulled her up, and lifted her into my arms despite her screaming protests. I ignored her words and questions as my men followed closely behind. Everyone came sprinting after us-Maya, Selena, even Jack-trying to stop me, but it was futile. I took her to the jet, and we left without looking back, the weight of my decision hanging heavily in the air.
Jennifer remained silent until we reached home; she didn’t speak a word, treating me like I was kidnapping her. She simply stared at me, her eyes filled with confusion and fear, and I felt a pang of guilt but pushed it aside.
….
Maya POV.
“Jack, Selena, Mark, please everyone, prepare your bags! We have to travel home now. I guess everyone knows what he really wants,” I was telling them when Mark cut me off, his voice raised in indignation.
“Yes, exactly, Maya! You want Tomas back, and Selena wants him too! And Jack wants Jennifer. But what about me?! Did you forget me, Maya?!” Mark shouted at me, a smirk on his face, the tension in the room palpable.
“What about you, Mark?” I asked, raising an eyebrow, trying to maintain control over the spiraling conversation.
“Did you forget who made you, Maya?! You were nothing! Working as a waitress, struggling to pay rent or bills! You were a nobody! I made you!” Mark yelled, his voice filled with arrogance, each word a dagger aimed at my pride.
Selena laughed, “What a waitress!” she mocked, enjoying the drama unfolding before her.
Mark stepped forward, staring at Selena with intensity. “What?! And I made you too! Or did you forget about that?!” Mark shot back at her, his voice dripping with disdain.
Selena cleared her throat, looking deeply into Mark’s eyes. “What, Mark?” she asked, a challenge evident in her tone.
“Selena, I’m the one who helped you get into Tomas’ life! I’m the one who convinced him to stay with you! Don’t forget that!” Mark said, reminding her of his role, the manipulative strings he had once pulled.
Jack was watching all of us, his expression a mix of shock and contemplation. “Then this is a trap for Tomas!” he exclaimed, piecing together the situation as if connecting dots on a dark canvas.
We exchanged glances, and I then started yelling at Jack. “Don’t make yourself look like an angel! You are the same as us. You told Tomas that you were dating Jennifer, that you lived together, and that you were her first man-the man who took her virginity! So don’t try to disguise yourself. You are a devil!” I accused him, my anger boiling over, each accusation more potent than the last.
“Well, now I’m involved with Maya, so I guess we have to continue what we started,” Jack said, a hint of determination in his voice as if he were ready to face the storm.
With that, we all packed our bags and boarded the plane back home, ready to reach our goals, no matter the cost, the stakes higher than ever, the battlefield shifting beneath our feet.
