Olivia’s POV
We lay in bed together, and Andre pulled me close. He stroked my face and pushed my hair aside, and I became ensnared in his beautiful green eyes.
“Olivia, I need to tell you something.”
His voice was so soft, and I had no idea why I felt nervous.
“The doctors are coming again today. Your symptoms are very peculiar, and they make me worried. I called them to come over and do some more tests so that we can find out what exactly is wrong with you and maybe try to fix it.”
The concern in Andre’s voice was heartwarming.
I was slightly upset that he didn’t tell me about this earlier but I had grown to know Andre well. He would do the things that he felt necessary for me and probably won’t tell me but he always did them for good reasons.
“Are the tests going to be painful?”
He was about to answer when we got a knock at the door.
I hurriedly stood up and grabbed my house coat and walked to the door. As I opened it, I saw a maid standing outside. She gave me a deep curtsy and a polite nod.
“Luna Olivia, I am sorry to disturb you, but the doctors are here, and they require your presence.”
“Thank you.”
I closed the door and turned to Andre with worry all over my face.
“They’re already here. Promise me that this is not going to hurt.”
Andre stood up from the bed and walked towards me. He was stark naked, and for some reason, I couldn’t take my eyes off his swinging cock.
He smoothed my hair lovingly to the side of my face and kissed my forehead. I closed my eyes and scrunched my nose as I allowed his love to burn into my soul.
“I promise you that none of the tests are going to hurt. It’s just to understand your symptoms further so we can better handle it. And I will be with you the entire time.”
I gulped fearfully and nodded and he carried me bridal style into the bathroom.
After a quick shower, we went to the living room and saw the doctors sitting on the sofa waiting for us.
They go to their feet and give polite bows of respect.
“Alpha Andre, Luna Olivia, good morning. It’s so nice to meet you.”
I gazed at their uniforms and noticed that it was significantly different from the one the doctor wore this morning.
I looked at Andre suspiciously, but he squeezed my hand, and I didn’t feel the need to ask the question, which dissolved from my consciousness.
One of the doctors turned to me and gave me a warm smile.
“Luna, I believe the Alpha has told you the reason for our visit. We’re just coming to run a few tests so that we can better assess your symptoms. Would you mind taking a seat?”
I sat on the sofa, and Andre sat down beside me. The doctors moved a bit closer to me, took out a contraption, and wrapped it around my arm.
I looked at Andre in alarm, and he assured me that it was fine.
The doctor began to press a pump and the band around my arm began to tighten. I grimaced, waiting for the worst part of the pain to shoot through my body, but it didn’t come, except for the constriction feeling that I felt around my bicep.
“There is no need to be alarmed, Luna. We’re simply checking your pulse.”
They took the readings, and finally, the strap around my arm loosened, and I could feel my blood rushing back into my hand. I wiggled my fingers to dissipate the tingling feeling. I guess it wasn’t that bad at all.
They checked my temperature and also checked my mouth to inspect my tonsils.
After a series of tests, I sat down and they broke the news to Andre and me.
“First of all, there is nothing to be alarmed about. The Luna is perfectly fine. Her temperature is a little bit above normal, and her pulse is slightly quicker.”
Andre was alarmed and leaned forward, evidently worried.
“I still don’t understand what you’re talking about. Is she fine or not?”
The doctor rested his head on his hand and I could tell that he was thinking about how to break the news to both of us.
“We actually knew that the symptoms that she was showing were going to get worse on the previous blood tests that we took of her. For starters, her hormone levels, particularly her estradiol, are very high, and this hormone is particularly directed at increasing female sexual activity when they are in heat.”
I moved uncomfortably in my seat, and Andre held my hand and patted it gently.
I could tell that the doctor was picking up on my discomfort as he turned to Andre.
“Do you think we could step outside for a moment so that I can ask some other questions?”
A blush spread on my cheeks, and I felt slightly angry.
I held on tightly to Andre and faced the doctor squarely.
“Andre and I are engaged. Whatever questions you think you can ask him, I am very sure that you can ask them in front of me, too.”
Andre looked at me, stunned, but he gave a smirk and I could tell that he was proud of my confidence.
“Very well,” replied the doctor, giving in to my request. “Your estradiol levels are very high, which shouldn’t be considering the fact that you are pregnant. It is very alarming that you are with a child, yet you are exhibiting symptoms of a female who is in heat. It is almost impossible. Both of you recently sealed your mate bond, and it is normal for mated wolves to feel this abnormally high sex drive, but you’re being pregnant was supposed to nullify the effects. Tell me, are there any other symptoms that you feel are akin to a female in heat? Do you feel some kind of relief when you are engaged in amorous congress with your mate?”
My cheeks exploded with colour. I knew the doctor wanted to avoid asking me any uncomfortable questions, but I insisted that Andre stay. I guess this is what I get for being decisive.
“Yes.”
My voice was barely audible but I was certain the doctor had heard what I said.
“Okay. Do you feel a sort of fever, maybe a mild headache and this restlessness?”
“Yes, I do.”
The doctor whipped out his notepad and began to take notes of what I was saying.
There was a thick silence, and finally, Andre broke it.
“Now what?”
The doctor looked up at him and exhaled.
“Now, we need to find a way forward through her symptoms. Symptoms of heat and pregnancy should not be according simultaneously. We will still need to run some more tests on her later, but as it stands now, there are no drugs that are known to combat this situation. We do have one drug that we managed to synthesise based on the data we were given from her last test. It showed a 40% success rate in lowering her estradiol levels. But considering the fact that the fetus is growing well under these conditions, we cannot give her this drug. It is still under experimentation, and we are scared that it might hurt the fetus.”
My mood fell drastically.
“So what are we going to do now?” I asked sadly.
The doctor exhaled and looked at the two of us with a dampened expression.
“I’m afraid that there is nothing that you can do for now. The Alpha is just going to have to keep up with your demands until we can find a better way to lower your symptoms. However, if you give us two more days, we might be able to come up with some more conclusive results”
Andre glared at the doctor, and he fidgeted a little.
“Thirty hours”
The doctor gave a nervous nod.
“Yes, Alpha.”
“Well then, your time starts now…”
