Olivia’s POV
I watched as Andre led the doctor out of the room, and they stayed outside for a few minutes. I closed my eyes and was lost in my thoughts. It seemed so weird that I was feeling so terrible this morning, but after Andre released inside of me, I felt my symptoms: my nausea, headache, and fever all just disappeared like they never existed in the first place.
I was ashamed to tell the doctor everything because I didn’t want him to think that Andre and I couldn’t keep our hands to ourselves for just a few months.
I continued to lie there with my eyes closed. I was exhausted and was teetering on the edge of sleep. I heard the door open and close, but when I opened my eyes, there was nobody there. I sighed and grabbed my phone that lay on the bedside table and began to browse for my symptoms. I was nervous as my hands trembled as I typed the keys on the keyboard. After a while, I couldn’t find anything matching what I was feeling.
I had never been pregnant before, but I had read a lot about babies, and I was certain that pregnancy symptoms didn’t just disappear after wild sex.
I continued to search, but it ended with unfruitful results. It just didn’t add up.
I placed my hand on my stomach and rubbed it gently. I was just glad to know that our baby was okay and that I hadn’t hurt him with my desperate plea to have Andre’s cock inside of me.
I sat up, waiting for Andre, but he didn’t come back inside. I was quite tired but I was able to drag myself out of bed and walk to the door. As I opened it, I saw no one standing there. I put two and two together and decided that maybe he was in his study.
I walked gingerly down the stairs, scared of the possibility of tripping and falling and killing our child.
I got to the study and went inside.
Empty.
That was rather odd. If Andre was anywhere in the house, it definitely had to be his study.
I was about to leave, but suddenly, an idea came to mind, and I decided to look through the books there for any answers to the symptoms that I was having.
I walked amongst the tall shelves, checking the spine of each book for available information about werewolf pregnancies.
I passed five tall shelves and could only find three books. I flipped through them, but none of the information there helped me.
I was on the end of the sixth shelf when I saw a reference.
“For books on werewolf pregnancies, please see shelf seven, row two, section eight.”
A smile curled my lips, and I walked to the seventh shelf.
“Row two, section eight. Where are you?”
I saw the books, and I was filled with glee.
I grabbed a handful of them and headed to Andre’s desk to read them.
I had flipped through all of them, but after about three unfruitful searches, I was beginning to lose stream.
I raised my head to stretch my neck, and then I realized that there was an open door inside Andre’s study.
I stood up in alarm and stared at the door. How come that I didn’t notice it before?
I stepped cautiously towards it, and as soon as I reached it, I felt the doorknob.
I gasped. It was unlocked.
I summoned the courage, took my chance, and pushed the door open. It was a dark corridor that seemed to go on forever. I stepped inside and walked down the straight passage, fearful of the things that might be around me. However, my curiosity was stronger, and it heralded me down the dark hallway.
It felt like the passage went on forever, and I had my hands stretched in front of me since all around me was pitch black. Suddenly, I felt a dead end.
Who on earth puts a dead end in a dark, spooky corridor in a study?
I felt the wall and soon found a knob. I gasped! It was a door!
I was trying to check if it was locked when a loud voice boomed from the other side.
“Let go of me, you pathetic imbecile!”
“No! You are going to tell us the truth! Who is Olivia’s real mother?!”
“I told you that I don’t know. She was left as a child on our doorstep and…”
I burst in without thinking and found myself in a dimly lit room with just one candle. Nicole was on her knees, Pierre was grabbing her hair, and Andre was standing over them, watching everything.
I was in tears as I looked at all of them.
“What did you just say?”
Everyone in the room paused except for Nicole, who glared at me with spite.
“Well, well, well. If it isn’t the little sluts. You heard the news, didn’t you? It must be so heartbreaking to know that the man that took care of you and showered you with all that attention isn’t even your real father…”
She didn’t even get to finish her sentence when Andre and Pierre jumped on her and started beating her up. I stood there watching them, unable to do anything. I was thrown into limbo as my entire childhood flashed before my eyes. All my happy memories with Dad, all the time he made me smile and kissed me on my head and face, were not real.
I looked on the floor and saw that Nicole was beaten to a pulp. Pierre and Andre were standing around her, panting and snarling at her.
A gasp filled the whole room as Andre reached into his pockets and pulled out a gun. Its cocking noise echoed through the entire basement as he pointed the barrel directly at Nicole’s face.
“Nicole, you have one more chance, and you had better say the right thing. Tell us where Olivia’s parents are, or I’ll put lead through your head and have your body dumped into the sea. I assure you that no one cares about you, and no one will look for you.”
Nicole went pale in the face as she stared down the barrel of the gun. She was bruised and she trembled.
“I already told you the truth. We do not know who they are. We opened the door one day and saw two imposing figures standing at our doorstep with her in a basket. They ordered us to take her as our daughter and raise her as our own. We did not refuse and accepted her in fear. We never saw their faces and even if we did, we couldn’t even be sure that they were her parents. I don’t know who they were, Andre, but I assure you, there are certain people that we aren’t supposed to cross.”
Andre scoffed. His gun-wielding hand didn’t waver.
“Well, I don’t think that they were that imposing or tough, considering the fact that you left the child they asked you to take care of and ran all the way here to play Luna for me. You even had the guts to leave her and run away from the pack.
Nicole scoffed and turned her head away.
“I stayed with her until she was 5, and in those 5 years, they didn’t come, so I supposed that they had died and we were finally safe. Olivia is now an adult, and they have not yet come to reveal to her that she is not my daughter. One can only suppose that they have forgotten about her and that she meant nothing to them in the first place.”
All the information that was bombarding me was overwhelming. The room began to spin and everything went pitch black.
Olivia!..
