Andre’s POV
I watched her face go red, but I was unfazed. I had told her what she needed to know.
She turned from Jonas to me and back to him, stepping backwards in fear.
“What is going on? What kind of sick joke is this? Where is the bitch that you are mated to? Where is she?!”
I scoffed lightly and said nothing for a while. Her confusion was amusing, but her acting out of line started to get on my nerves.
“I have told you what you need to know, Nicole. My private life is no longer any of your business.”
I stared at her and caught sight of a vein bulge on her forehead, ready to pop.
“Why are you hiding her? Why? Is she scared? The bitch knows that she is about to tear up a happy family, and she is too pussy to show her face!”
My anger spiked, and I growled at her. I walked towards her and bared my fangs.
“Don’t you dare! She is my mate, and you can’t talk about her like that. Her identity, whereabouts, and when she will be getting here are none of your business.”
I could feel Olivia’s tension rise slightly as I confronted her mother. She agreed to tell everyone about us, but I could feel she didn’t want her mother to know first. I had said too much and needed to throw her off our track and divert her suspicion.
Nicole was shocked by the way I spoke to her. I saw her lips tremble, and I could tell that she was dying to talk back to me.
She looked away from me and fixed her poisonous stare on Olivia. I saw Olivia freeze and go pale almost instantly.
“You! You caused all of this! I’m losing everything that I worked so hard for in mere minutes, and it’s all because of you! Where the fuck did you run to that he was able to find his mate? Was it because he went searching for you that he was able to find that homewrecker?! Arrgghh!”
Nicole bolted past me at lightning speed and lunged towards Olivia. I was just about to grab her when Jonas stepped in.
He stood defensively in front of Olivia and faced Nicole head-on, grabbing her at the last minute and throwing her off balance.
Nicole was a thorn in my side, but she was a skilled wolf. She caught herself in mid-air, flipped, and landed on her feet.
There was heavy tension in the air. The staff were stunned; Nicole and Jonas were glaring daggers at each other, and Olivia was standing fearfully behind Jonas.
“Don’t you dare lay a hand on her!” Jonas snarled.
I felt my wolf fighting to burst out, and my hate for Jonas intensified. What was he doing? I could take care of my mate just fine. Why did he feel the need to step in and play the hero?
I clenched my fist and turned to Pierre and the guards standing with him.
“I think Nicole has overstayed her welcome. Get her out of my sight.”
Without hesitation, they moved towards her and seized her.
“What?! Who the fuck are you?! Don’t you know who I am?! Let go of me!”
She fought and cursed, but they held her firmly and dragged her away.
“Do you really think you can treat me like this, Andre? After everything that I did for you!”
Her voice became fainter and fainter as they pulled her away, and she disappeared inside the mansion. I nodded in satisfaction and turned to look at Olivia, who seemed horrified.
“Andre? What happened? What did you do? How come she doesn’t know she signed a contract?”
“I had to end things with her, Olivia,” I replied defensively. “I was anxious to find you, and I couldn’t let things drag on between me and her, so I tricked her into signing for our contract termination. The only way to finalise this was to get her to sign without knowing what exactly she was signing.”
Olivia’s gaze fell, and I felt her mood dampen.
I walked towards her, pushed Jonas away and stood beside her. I stroked her cheek with my thumb and tilted her head upwards with a finger to her chin.
“Olivia…”
“Andre, I feel bad for her. I know that she will lose everything, but I feel bad that I will take everything she worked so hard for.”
I couldn’t help but smirk, pinch her cheek, and tug it lightly at the corners into a smile.
“You know, I think you are too nice, princess.”
Olivia looked away with a blush, and at that moment, I caught Jonas stealing a jealous glance at us. Our eyes met and locked briefly, but he looked away.
I felt possessive of Olivia and pulled her close to me. There was just something that was off about that bastard. The way he looked at her and acted around her put me on edge.
It wasn’t a wrong guess to say that he had some interest in her.
Suddenly, I felt worried. I looked at my kitten’s deep blue eyes, and as I stroked her soft cheeks, I realised our vast age difference for the first time.
I was in my forties, but Jonas was about to hit his thirties soon. I couldn’t help but worry that my kitten would fall for him.
I let go of my kitten and turned to the bastard.
“I’ll have my men look for a comfortable hotel for you. I will cover all the expenses.”
Jonas scowled and turned to me. The look in his eyes spelled ‘trouble’.
“Aren’t you the owner of this mansion?” He asked with raised brows.
“Yes.”
“Then I think I can crash here for a few days.”
I felt a vein in my forehead pop, and I was about to reject him, but my kitten jumped in.
“See! I told you that he wouldn’t mind.”
I rolled my eyes and sighed. My kitten didn’t seem to understand my worries.
