Olivia’s POV
“What are you still standing there for? Don’t you know that we need to get out of here immediately?”
I looked at him sceptically. I still didn’t trust him. There was no way he expected me to follow him.
“Look, I can tell that you don’t trust me, and that’s perfectly fine. But didn’t you notice how most of the men at the cafe were looking at you? Don’t you think that’s a little strange?”
I looked at him in shock.
“How did you know that they were looking at me?”
He took a deep breath and looked around nervously as he tried to explain quickly.
“I was in the cafe, and I saw everything that happened. It’s a full moon, and it is dangerous for you to be walking around with your pheromones running wild.”
I looked at him in confusion. Pheromones? What was he talking about? Did whatever he just said mean that I couldn’t walk around on full moon nights anymore?
I was nervous and scared, but the last thing I wanted was for what had happened with those men to recur.
“My car is just down the street, probably a few blocks from here. If we hurry now and get there, I’ll explain everything to you. We need to get out of here as soon as possible.”
We soon reached a Maybach that was alone in the parking lot.
As soon as we got in, he switched on the ignition, and we drove down the street.
“Okay, now that we are safe, could you please explain to me what is going on?”
He fixed his eyes on the road but continued talking to me.
“Pheromones differ from female to female, but if uncontrolled, they could lead to very common occurrences of assault by other male werewolves. Most of the time, these male werewolves do not have any idea of what they are doing. Very few male wolves can resist a female’s pheromones when they are in overdrive.”
I looked at him questioningly.
“And you can resist them? You don’t seem to be affected by mine.”
“I have a sister with wild pheromones. So you shouldn’t be a problem. However, if you want to walk around on a full moon, you need some suppressant to keep the pheromones in check.”
I listened to everything that he said, and my mind went into full gear. This wasn’t the first full moon that I had experienced, and something like this had never happened before.
I saw him sigh in defeat, and he took a glance at me.
“Well, since you said that I would need a suppressant to get my pheromones under control, I need to know where exactly I can get them.”
He gave me a little smile and stole another glance at me.
“I am not from this city. However, I do have a friend who has a pack on the outskirts of this place. I am sure that I can book an appointment with their pack doctor and get you some suppressants for your pheromones.”
My scepticism rose again. However, after what happened tonight, I knew that I needed those suppressants. I needed to be able to walk around the city every night, including full moon nights.
I took a deep breath and relaxed. I had come to the city and should have known that weird things like this would happen. If I was ever going to find who my father’s killer was, I needed as much help as I could get. And so far, he has seemed like a pretty honest and decent guy.
“All right, I’ll come with you to get the suppressants.”
As he started the car, I realised I didn’t know his name, “I didn’t even ask your name. The events of tonight made me forget my manners.”
He turned to me with a bright smile, and his golden eyes shone like stars.
“Jonas. My name is Jonas.”

The drive to the pack didn’t seem so long, and in a few minutes, we were already there. Jonas and I got out,
We all walked towards the hospital, but Jonas was careful to make sure that there was a great distance between us. Walking through the pack worried me even more, so I folded my hands across my chest defensively.
The male wolves I passed all looked at me with lewd expressions on their faces. I could see their desire to approach me, but they stopped when they saw Jonas walking beside me.
I huddled closer to Jonas, and we continued to walk towards the hospital.
We soon got in and saw a doctor going through some files late in his office.
As soon as I walked into the office, the doctor raised his head, and his expression turned serious.
Without a word, he pulled out a mask before gesturing for us to go into the examining room.
“What is your name?” asked the doctor.
“Uhmmm… My name is Olivia.”
The doctor checked my vitals, and Jonas watched him like a hawk, noting the placement of his hands and even the slightest twitch of his fingers.
The doctor got his equipment ready and took a blood sample. Once he had gotten a reasonable amount, he took it to the lab and left Jonas and me together for a while.
After a while, Dr Sean emerged from the room with a confused expression on his face.
“Your pheromones are unlike any I have ever seen before. They are extremely powerful and might be resistant to the suppressants that I have. However, I was able to whip up a crude batch. If I come up with a stronger remedy, I’ll be sure to let Jonas know.”
I thanked the doctor, but now, I had a reason to stay longer. I never knew that my pheromones could be this powerful and would require me to take suppressants for them.
It was getting really late, and I felt tired. I yawned, and Dr. Sean noticed.
“You should get some sleep,” said Dr. Sean. “I will try to get your suppressants ready by tomorrow.”
I looked at Jonas, and he agreed, and we left the hospital together. I felt a little more comfortable walking beside him as most of the male wolves of the pack had retired for the night. I was quite worried, as I hadn’t packed any clothes for this trip, and my luggage was still in my room in the basement of the cafe.
I turned to Jonas, and we locked eyes briefly.
“I know it’s late, but is it too late for you to drive me back to the cafe? I didn’t bring anything for this trip.”
Jonas sighed and turned his head away.
“I can, but do you really think it is proper for you to be alone, especially on a night like this, especially since you just found out how powerful your pheromones are? I can still take you back home, but I need you to make a choice. Like I said earlier, I have an apartment here, and I should have a few of my sister’s clothes you can wear. My offer is still very much open.”
I was silent for a while, and my eyes were transfixed on his golden ones, which shone with warmness and sincerity. Jonas had already done so much for me, and it would be unfair for me to have him drive me back to the cafe so late at night.
“All right, I’ll stay. I just hope that Dr Sean can get my suppressants ready by tomorrow.”
