Olivia’s POV
I was in school in the library, trying to find answers to an assignment. I loved being at Crestwood College, but sometimes the workload could be demanding. I couldn’t believe that you were asked to find lycanthropy myths stipulated by humans and compare them to what it was like being an actual werewolf.
I had been on my phone for almost an hour, and most of the things that humans thought about werewolves were simply eyesores.
I felt my phone buzz in my hand, and at the top of the screen, I saw a text message from Andre.
“I will be out of town on a business trip. Would you like to come along? I don’t think a day from school would hurt so much.”
I felt myself grinning from ear to ear. It was as if he had just come to save me in the nick of time. I texted him back instantly.
“I would love to. I need a break anyway.”
I wasn’t even up to a minute, and a reply came through.
“A break so soon? But you only just started. *Laughing emoji* I will tell the Dean of Academics about it. He’ll give you a formal letter of absence. I’ll also ask the maid to pack some clothes for you. I’ll pick you up after school. *kisses*”
I smiled and sighed happily. I had forgotten my Lycanthropy myth assignment and sat in the library waiting for time to fly by. I had one last class for the day, and luckily for me, the teacher was on sick leave, and we had no substitute.
It didn’t take long before I heard an announcement over the speakers.
“Could Miss Olivia please report to the secretary immediately?”
I smiled to myself. It seemed that Andre was just as anxious to get me out of school as I was to leave.
I rushed to the secretary’s office, and Miss Regina handed me a typed document.
“The alpha asked for a two-day leave of absence for you from school. He said that there is a medical test that you are required to perform.”
I nodded, playing along with Andre’s little story.
“Yes, I have been feeling under the weather for a while. I really don’t know what’s wrong with me.”
“Well, I am sorry to hear that. If you don’t have any classes, I suggest you go home immediately and rest. Pierre called me and said he would pick you up soon.”
I tried my best not to smile, so I nodded politely and left.
I headed to my locker, grabbed my bag, and tossed a few books into it. I walked outside, and just like I expected, I saw Andre’s car parked in the parking lot.
I hurried over to it with a big smile on my face. The front door opened, and I saw Andre at the wheel, smiling at me.
I smirked and got into the front seat beside him.
“The secretary told me that Pierre was coming to pick me up.”
He smirked back at me.
“I thought my kitten wanted us to be a little secret for now. Unless, of course, you are ready for us to tell the whole world.”
I blushed hard, and I felt his lips warm mine. I was getting lost in his taste when he finally pulled away and left me craving his lips.
“We should get going.”
I pouted and nodded my head. He was teasing me, but there was nothing that I could do about it.
I pulled out of the parking lot, and soon, we were cruising down the road.
The windows were open, and the breeze whipped my hair, and I felt so alive. I was smiling from ear to ear, and the air was crisp and fresh.
“Where are we going exactly?” I asked him.
“You’ll see when we get there,” he said with a mischievous grin.
We were on the road for three hours, and soon, I began to see high-rise buildings and so many people. I sniffed the air. Humans! There were so many of them in one place.
He slowed down, and we were soon caught in the traffic. I looked around in shock and surprise. It was a beautiful yet busy city filled with humans. I could smell a few werewolves, but it was nothing like Crestwood.
We soon pulled up to a mall, and I looked at the large, intricate building in shock.
“Wow,” I said in surprise.
“It’s one of my many enterprises. I came to inspect the progress and handle a few minor meetings.”
“It is amazing. I have never been to a mall.”
I felt a hand grab my chin, and he turned my face. I soon found myself staring into Andre’s green eyes, and my body became hot.
“Well, it seems like you are in luck. We will get to do a little shopping together when I’m done sorting out some things.”
He let go of me and reached into his pocket, handing me his credit card.
“You should probably get a head start with the shopping. I’ll find you. My pin is 1506.”
I took the card. “1506? That’s actually my…”
“Your birthday? I know.”
I smiled and couldn’t help the smile that crept on my face.
“How did you know?” I said quietly.
He leaned over to me and kissed me passionately, drawing soft groans from my lips and making me feel wet and helpless for him.
He pulled away from me and pressed his forehead on mine.
“I’m your mate, Olivia. Of course, I know.”
I smiled, got out of the car, and watched him drive away.
I was alone and with his card. This was the first time that I had been to a place like this. I wasn’t even sure of where to start. In my old pack, there were a few families with small businesses in the human world, and they would talk about shopping and things they did in the human world.
I had always wanted to experience it, but Papa was already struggling to keep up with our expenses; I didn’t dare to ask him and add some extra burdens.
I did feel a little thirsty, so I went to a bar and grabbed a cold drink.
As soon as the icy beverage hit my tongue, I felt refreshed and rejuvenated. I walked deeper into the mall and gazed at the stores as I walked by. I didn’t even know where to start.
Soon, something caught my eye. I grinned naughtily to myself.
“This seems like a great place to start my little shopping spree.”
