What right did someone like that have to live in this world.
As the words fell, her hand was held by Enrico.
His palm warmed her cold, feeble fingers.
“Then I’ll have someone bring him here.” Enrico said in a low voice.
“No, I have to go out first, I have one last question for Jeremy,” Paige said.
Enrico looked at her with a sullen gaze, his brow knitted tightly.
“It’s okay, trust me.”
Paige smiled at him before removing the shield from her collar and walking over to the window, pushing it open to look out at a group of small children who were playing, “Kids, come in and do Auntie a favor.”
A group of half-grown small children holding up small hoes and shovels majestically and energetically stepped into the backyard and numbly dug up the soil.
They dug with gusto.
Annie obviously wasn’t buried very deep, and soon the Davis family’s little boy dug a red box out of the ground and brought it to Paige like a treasure, “Auntie, Auntie, isn’t this it?”
Paige took it, quite a large wooden box, it was delicate and had a pattern on it.
She wiped off the mud on it and didn’t open it, instead handing it back to the little boy’s hand, “Give this to the old lady and say that I agreed to her request to go out and bring Jeremy in now.”
With that said, Paige turned and looked up at Enrico, who was standing by the wall, and flashed him a reassuring smile before saying, “Boatman, just please take me back, I have business to attend to.”
“…”
Enrico looked at her in silence.
Paige heads out the door without looking back.
…
The boat rested at the edge of the cavern, a ray of light leaking in from outside.
Beinice sits down in the boat, uncomfortable by the slight bumps; he sits up a bit straighter, glances at the sleeping fisherman beside him, and covers his nose in depression.
The smell was just too strong.
His cell phone suddenly vibrated, Beinice hastily picked it up and put it to his ear, “What’s wrong?”
Blanca’s voice came from the cell phone, “Jeremy got a small boat and also came over, I don’t know Marian’s plan, I didn’t step in to block it, people are estimated to arrive at your place soon, you think of a way to give Marian and the girls a mark, and keep an eye on them to see what Jeremy is trying to do?”
“Okay, I’ll keep an eye here.” Beinice immediately answered.
After saying that, Blanca’s side hung up the phone.
The hang up was so fast.
Beinice froze with the cell phone, the voice of the little sister … seems to be a little wrong, obviously after seeing Paige she relaxed a lot, and couldn’t help but laugh, how suddenly it sounds like the same as before.
Too late to ponder, Beinice glanced at the fisherman next to her and reached out to push him, “Hey–”
The fisherman was sleeping like a dead pig, not moving a muscle.
Looks like there’s still a while to sleep, no need to tie him up.
Thinking so, Beinice got up and prepared to find a spot to hide among the flowers and trees first to keep a good eye on Jeremy.
As soon as he got up, he was struck violently on the back of his neck, his eyes went black, and he fell down heavily on the boat.
The ship was shaken to a rocking motion.
On the side, the fisherman who was full of despondency stood quietly on the boat, raised his hand and pressed his neck, and his eyes became cold and deep instead of the casual and diffident ones before.
Suddenly came a The Gustin family’s villa daughter-in-law.
Suddenly he was attacked.
Quite odd.
What on earth were these people up to?
The fisherman crouched down in the boat and unceremoniously squared Beinice’s twisted face, a glance that left him transfixed and unable to return to his senses for a long time.
…
Paige and Enrico left the Davis family one by one, walking out the front door of the Davis family, fallen flowers drifting on the stone path between the flowering trees.
Just a few steps out, Paige lowered her eyes and looked under a tree to the side, when she saw a wet shoe print.
At the same time, her wrist was secretly caught by Enrico.
He had noticed it too.
Paige stared at the shoe print, her eyes turned, and said, “I’m not used to sitting in that boat of yours, it’s too dizzy, go back and get me a small stool.”
She stared back, and Enrico stared at her somberly.
Trust me.
Paige looked straight at him.
“…”
It was getting lawless.
With one hand on the brim of his hat, Enrico glared at her malevolently, but eventually complied, taking one step back and returning to the door.
Paige listened to the door slam shut and stood on the stone path and clapped her hands together, “Come on out.”
The words were followed by the cold muzzle of a gun pressed against her temple.
“I just told you to find the key, I didn’t tell you to talk so much!”
Jeremy stepped up beside her and cut his teeth, wanting to kill her right now.
“You mean what I told you truthfully in front of the old lady? It can’t be helped, I always have to raise some capital for myself to trade with you.” Paige said calmly, without the slightest flinch.
“A deal?” Jeremy narrowed his eyes and glared at her coldly.
“I’m not an idiot, I pretty much just figured it out when I wandered around THE Davis family.”
Paige stood still, looking at the flowers flying in the grove of flowers in front of her, and slowly said, “the Davis family was disconnected from the world after Annie left, and became truly isolated, which I guess you didn’t expect, so you didn’t dare to venture into the Davis family to look for that batch of antiques. After all, one Annie made you scared like that, the whole the Davis family you’re not sure exactly how many other people are in the population, you’ll be even more scrupulous.”
“…”
Jeremy gritted his teeth.
“But now that I’m in, you know that THE Davis FAMILY has become a complete peach of a world away from the outside world that doesn’t have access to the outside world, and all they know how to do all day is to take a hoe and plant a field, and solving a bunch of peasants is just too easy, they don’t need me at all.”
Paige said calmly, “If I wasn’t needed, wouldn’t I not be able to get your antidote? Of course I’m going to trip up a bit.”
It wasn’t as if she spoke those truths without thinking.
Jeremy listened, pressing the muzzle of his gun harder against her temple, “What do you want, little girl?”
“Originally you could have come in and gotten the basement curios by making up a story, but now, with my truths ahead of me, you’re on the head of THE Davis family, and even though you’ve got a gun, THE Davis family has quite a population, and it’s too much of a challenge to try and just get away with a bunch of curios and leave.”
“…”
“The longer it drags on, the more likely Enrico’s side will find out where you are.”
Paige said, “Mr. Gustin, why don’t you put the gun down and listen to my deal.”
“Fine, I’d like to hear what you have to say.”
Jeremy brought the pistol down and stared at her grimly.
Seeing the gun unloaded, Paige slowly turned to look at Jeremy in front of her and smiled slightly as she traded calmly, “I can help you get the curios, but not only do you have to give me the antidote afterward, as promised, but you also have to answer a question for me now.”
“What question?” Jeremy gripped the gun in his hand.
“Is there any best solution to A’s current predicament?”
Paige asked the one question she most desperately wanted to know.
Jeremy understood her meaning and let out a cold smile, “So you’re messing around with all this just to find out if Annie left any solutions back then?”
