JAYCE’S POV
I’m fuming with rage as I storm out of that livingroom. I still cannot believe what I just witnessed. That stupid Alpha rejected the mate assigned to him by the Moon goddess and chose a mate for himself. He has no idea what he has just done. He is going to suffer. He’ll come begging Alora on his knees sooner or later and he will be too late because she is mine.
Thanks to him, I’ve found my mate and I’m going to protect her at all cost. When he comes back for her, I will send him away like a fly. He has rejected her and has no place in her life now. She is mine and mine alone!
On my way here, I ordered my Beta, Lloyd, to come here with a few guards and rides. I was out on my evening runs in my wolf form when I found Alora in the woods. There’s no way I’m making her run with me in our wolf forms back to my Pack so I mindlinked Lloyd and asked him to come over here when Alora and were on our way to this castle.
When we arrive at the car, one of the guards open the passenger seat door for Alora, but she shakes her head and steps behind. My heart misses a beat.
“I can’t. I can’t ride in the same car as the Supreme Alpha.”
I let out an exasperated sigh and step infront of her. She has her head bowed down in respect and I can feel the nervous energy enveloping her.
“Alora, right?” I ask and she nods her head. She still does not spare me a glance. “Look at me.” I instruct and she calmly shakes her head.
“I do not have the audacity to look the Supreme Alpha in the face.” She denies with a trembling voice. Rage boils in my veins, not towards her, but towards the people who have made her like this. She looks like she has had it tough in life. I can bet she has been stepped on since she was a child, that’s why she’s so afraid to look at anyone with authority.
“It’s an order from your Supreme Alpha. Or, do you want me to go on my knees and beg you? I can do that if you want.” I tease and what she does takes me off guard.
She instantly goes down on her knees with her head still bowed down.
“Please forgive my indulgence, Supreme Alpha. I’m sorry for talking back at you. I will accept any sort of punishment you have to give me.” I look at my guards who seem just as confused as I am.
What exactly have these people been doing to this poor girl?
“On your feet, now!” She obeys my instruction. “Look at at me.” That’s one seems hard. She keeps her gaze glued to the ground. “Alora.” I call patiently. “look at me. Please.” My voice is calm and gentle when I talk now. After several minutes of contemplating on her end, she finally looks at me and I’m blown away by her starling blue eyes. They are as blue as the swimming pool I have back at home and I’d give up everything to swim in them. Her auburn hair is thick and long. Almost touching her waist. The edges are a bit rough and unkempt. It’s obvious she hasn’t had a haircut for a long time. Her facial features are so delicate and gorgeous, it makes my heart hurt.
She is beautiful. She is perfect even though she looks a bit underweight and malnourished. She has been through a lot in the hands of those people. But all of that is over now. She’s my mate and the future Supreme Luna of the entire werewolf world. She will rule over the people who once trampled on her. I will teach her everything she needs to know about power and authority.
I will make sure she gets her revenge on them one by one.
Her blue eyes are searching for what I do not know on my face. I smile and take a step forward. Towards her. My heart misses a beat when she steps back prolly out of fear.
This is going to take some time.
I open the back seat of the G-wagon I came in and gesture her to get in. She shakes her head and takes several steps back.
“I do not have the courage to ride in the same car with the Supreme Alpha.”
Here we go again.
I inch closer to her.
“You do know we are mates, right?”
“I’m still trying to understand how that’s possible.” She whispers and I almost shout with joy when she looks at me. “Just yesterday, I could feel the mate bond with Alpha Leon, but now, it’s all gone and I can feel a very strong connection with you. How is this possible?” Her pink rosy lips tremble as she asks me that question. She’s making my heart melt like hot chocolate. Her voice is so melodious, I want to hear her talk all the time.
I want to hug her and squeeze her in my arms. I want to hold her and never let go. Her pheromone is raiding my mind. I’m feeling everything they had said I would feel when I find my mate. It’s amazing!
I smile as I take her hands in mine.
“How about we go home first and then I explain everything to you?”
“Home?” She asks, confused. I nod and smile.
“Yes, home to the Blue Pearl Pack where you belong, with me. Everything has changed for the better now, Alora. You are no longer a servant. You are the mate to the Supreme Alpha and that makes you the Supreme Luna. I understand that you’ll need a lot of training to be able to take up that position, but first, I have to take you home. Will you let me do that?” I ask as calmly as I can.
As much as I want to get her out of this God forsaken pack, I don’t want to scare her. This is a lot for her to take in all at once and I have to be very patient else I’ll ruin everything.
“The Blue Pearl is now my home?” She asks and I nod.
“Yes, it is. Will you let me take you there?”
“Yeah.” She whispers.
“That means you’ll have to ride with me. Will you ride with me?”
“Yeah.”
“Thank you.” Without warning, I wrapp my arms around her petite frame, engulfing her in a warm bear hug. I kiss her hair and inhale her scent. She smells like vanilla flavored ice cream and if I don’t control myself, I’m going to eat her up. “Alright then…” I say once I pull away from the hug. “Let’s go home.” I make a hand gesture for her to get into the car. She hesitates for a while, but after looking around the castle, she shakes her head and gets in.
Yes love. You are making the right decision.
Throughout the ride, I try to start up conversations with her, but she doesn’t respond or even look at me. Her eyes are glued to the door glass. She’s looking at the tresses outside as we drive past them. There must be a million thoughts swimming in her head. She’s probably wondering if life is going to get better and I want to assure her that it will, but I chose to stay quiet and let her be.
I must not scare her away.
We arrive at my pack in four hours. As the convoy I went out with drive into the castle premises, all the soldiers and guards stand erect in rigid positions and every other person that was walking past, stays still. Our car finally comes to a half and the side of my door is opened by my Beta, while Alora’s door is open by a gaurd.
“Welcome home, Alpha Jayce.” My Beta, Lloyd, greets me with a slight bow and I simply nod and walk past him to go meet Alora who looks terrified by all the attention she is getting.
The guards and everyone else around can feel her powerful aura and they are all bowing down to her. Lloyd comes over and does the same. One person whom I had expected to see here is missing.
My very recalcitrant Omega, Reed.
“Where is Reed?” I ask Lloyd in a whisper. He shakes his head.
“Said he’s busy with work. Wouldn’t come out no matter how much I persuaded him.” Lloyd reports and I shake my head as well. That’s very typical of Reed. He can’t be told what to do by anyone, not even me. He acts when he wants to and the way he deems right.
Sometimes I wonder who the Alpha is between us.
“Anyway…” I clear my throat. “Call a meeting with the elders, tell them I’ve found my mate and they can stop fantasising about my dethronement.” Lloyd chuckles and nods his head.
“I will do just that, Alpha.”
“Good. I’ll join you in the meeting after getting Alora settled. Off you you go.” He bows one last time before walking away to execute my orders. I place a protective arm on the small of Alora’s back and she tenses.
Goodness!
“Don’t be afraid, I just want to lead you inside.” She swallows dryly and nods her head. The guards make way as I lead her into the castle. She’s looking around, completely awed by what she’s seeing. My castle is a hundred times larger than that of her former Alpha’s.
In the living room, there are ten female servants lined up with their heads bowed down. Alora and I stop before them and they issue us a unanimous welcome greeting.
“This is Alora, my mate and your Luna. I need you to take her to my bedroom and have her cleaned, dressed and fed. Also make sure she gets enough rest.” I turn to Alora who looks lost. “You’ll go with them. They’ll treat you nicely.”
“Are you going somewhere?” I can see a glimmer of fear in her eyes. My heart breaks.
“Unfortunately, yes. I hate to leave you behind, but I have to. I have this thing to settle with the elders, but I won’t be gone for long, I promise. I’ll head back to you as soon as I’m done with the meeting. Okay?” She quietly nods her head. I place a gentle kiss on her head and turn to the maids. “One complaint from her about you girls not treating her right and you will live to regret it. Do your absolute best!”
“Yes, Alpha!” That chorus makes me sick. I watch as they take Alora away and I can’t help but smile.
I still can’t believe I found her.
I turn on my heels to head out of the living room and something immediately crosses my mind. I close my eyes to mind link Lloyd.
“Alpha.”
“Tell Reed I want him at that meeting whether he’s busy or not.”
“He’s here with us already.”
“Good.” I block the minflunk and walk on.
I can’t wait to see the look of disappointment on those elders’ faces when I tell them I’ve found my mate.
