Andre’s POV
I kissed her cheek and grabbed a towel. I lifted her out of the water and tried my best not to wake her. I dried her up and laid her gently on the bed. She stirred and whimpered sweetly, but soon, she was calm and quiet.
“Guard, tell the others around the perimeter to tighten security. No one gets in or out without my notice. Is that understood,” I said to the head guard over the telepathic link.
“Yes, Sir. I will inform them. There is also a suitcase in front of the mansion. What should I do with it?”
I realised that I had left Olivia’s suitcase outside when I carried her inside.
“Leave it. I’ll come and get it myself. Come back and guard the third floor. I don’t want anyone to bother me this evening.”
“Yes, Sir.”
I sighed and turned to look at Olivia. I pulled the covers over her beautiful naked body, resisting the urge to suck her pink nipples or kiss her succulent lips.
“Stay here, Kitten. I’ll be back.”
I kissed her cheek softly and left the room.
The hallway was quiet and cool. There was no movement at all, and the moon’s rays flooded the stairs and filled them with light.
I walked to the front door, and just before I opened it, there was a loud knock. I opened it, and the guard stood there. He gave me a bow, and I let him inside.
I went outside and searched for her suitcase. It didn’t take long, and there it was, on the ground, near the darkest part of the wall, propped up neatly against it.
I chuckled and picked it up. It was quite heavy. What had my kitten packed for the trip?
I carried it inside and headed upstairs to my room. I opened the door gently and saw that Olivia was still sleeping soundly. I smiled at her and set her box down on the table. I opened it and began to search. I wanted to know where she wanted to go.
Who did she want to see? I searched every pocket, but there was nothing but clothes and shoes. I reached into a deep pocket, and finally, my hand grazed something that felt like paper.
I pulled it out and saw that it was an envelope. I tore it open and saw a small wad of cash. Money. I could tell that it was for her little escape. I smiled and put it back.
At least I knew that my kitten was smart.
As I put it back in, my hand grazed something else. I reached in and pulled out a picture of her and a man. I looked closely and saw that he had a wide smile on her face. It was her dad.
I gazed lovingly at the picture and the big smile on her face. I could tell that she loved him and missed him dearly.
“Your father would be happy that you found someone that cares about…”
“…you mean that I can’t come up here! Let me through!”
I heard a loud booming voice pierce the quietness of the night, and it made me drop the picture rapidly from my hand into the suitcase and turn to Olivia to see if she had woken up.
Luckily, she was still in a deep slumber. She stirred, turned on her side, and continued to sleep. I smiled, but it disappeared as soon as I heard the loud voice. I knew it was coming from the hallway, and it could only be one person.
I stormed out angrily, and to not much of my surprise, I saw my guard quarreling with Nicole, doing his best to keep her back without hurting her.
“What is the meaning of this?”
My voice rang out, and soon, there was a calm.
Nicole straightened herself, and I looked at her with scorn and contempt.
“Alpha Andre, good evening. I am so sorry to disturb you, but I wanted to discuss something very important with you, and the guard here said that I am not allowed upstairs.”
“Well, I guess the order is a very simple one. You should leave then. Whatever it is, you can talk about it with me tomorrow.”
My eyes washed over her, and I saw the skimpy nightdress that she wore, with a very low neckline and almost revealing her breasts. By the looks of it, she wanted to do more than talk.
Even if there was no Olivia, I had vowed never to touch Nicole from the contract we signed because I didn’t want to blur the lines. And I knew women like her could be trouble.
“I also want to see my daughter,” she added quickly.
I scoffed and turned away from her in anger. She was getting on my nerves.
“I’m sure she is asleep. You can see her tomorrow.”
I could hear the exasperation in her voice.
“What do you mean? I would like to see my daughter, and you refuse, and now the guard is telling me that no one is allowed on this floor. What is going on?”
I ignored her and began to walk to my room, but she called out to me loudly, and I stopped in my tracks.
“This isn’t fair. I have served you as your Luna, and yet I stay on a lower floor, but my daughter gets to stay up here.”
I scoffed and turned back to the door. She was impossible.
“Olivia, isn’t you, Nicole. You seem to forget that I am the Alpha of this pack, and I decide who sleeps where.”
Her mouth pursed in dissatisfaction. “But…”
“Good night, Nicole.”
I went into my room and slammed the door shut behind me. I stayed silent for a while to hear if Nicole would shout again, but all was back to normal, and the night was quiet again.
I turned and saw Olivia snoozing peacefully. I smiled and walked up to her. She mumbled something, and her lips pushed into a cute pout.
I couldn’t help myself anymore. I bent over and kissed her forehead and her lips softly. She was so beautiful. But I was still sad that she ran away from me. Why would she do that? I loved her and was ready to give her anything that she wanted.
If only I could understand why she did it.
I lay beside her and watched her sleep.
“My beautiful mate. Please don’t try to leave me again.”
I pulled her close, and she nestled her head into my chest, breathing lightly.
“Good night, Kitten.”
