Alpha Blade;
“Any news from Alpha Arthur yet, Bronson?”
“Nothing yet.”
“And what about the girl? I mean….. The girl we brought back to the pack alongside the healer?”
Bronson sharply exhales, “She’s getting better. The healer is doing a good job so far. Lest I forget, Alpha Blade, I also requested the services of our pack healer. I want her to assist Alpha Arthur’s healer. Malicia needs to be alright and her body also needs to be scar free.”
Bronson!
His words make my cheeks drag, and my face lit up in a radiant smile. I was happy even when I had all my reasons not to be. But for my Beta’s sake, my heart can’t stop dancing in joy. Well, what Alpha couldn’t feel excited after finding out the true feelings of his Beta?
Bronson!
He’s in love. I don’t know if he knows it yet, but he’s a gone man. Never have I seen him this concern towards any lady. My Beta stupidly almost had himself killed all because of a Delta wolf. That was the worst foolishness of all time, but guess what?… I love it for him.
At first, I never wanted to get myself involved in the affairs of Alpha Arthur’s pack anymore. I fucking have my troubles right in front of me. But then, I know and understand Alpha Drakon’s rage. He won’t think thrice, but to take my Beta’s life. And oh, trust me when I said he won’t have a third thought about it all.
That day would have been the last day for my Beta. I had no idea my Beta was going to sacrifice his life for a girl. My only thought – he was just going to make an attempt to stop Alpha Drakon, even though he knew he couldn’t.
I made my way back to Alpha Arthur’s Pack for two reasons. First – Not to make my Beta look weak before everyone. Second – saving Elara’s best friend.
If anything should happen to that girl, it will break Elara into a million pieces. These were my reasons. Don’t know if she is innocent of the allegation or not, but she doesn’t look like someone who can steal or take the life of others.
I feel a game is being played and she is the scapegoat. Someone somewhere is manipulating a lot of things in Alpha Arthur’s pack, and my highest bet is Chloe. Nevertheless, this isn’t my cup of coffee.
Alpha Arthur should come back and fix his mess. Elara is important and he’s trying to keep her away from me, but there are serious issues going on in our various packs.
Issues we need to fix before thinking of who Elara truly belongs to. I know I will definitely get my fated mate back when it’s time, but right now, my responsibility comes first.
“Okay, Bronson. That’s a positive one. I’m proud of you for taking good care of that girl. When she finally wakes up, then we can get to know the truth of that day. We can find out who killed Princess Veronica and why?” I sound so unbothered, trying to mask my actual emotion.
I’m dying inside. Dead sick about the issue in my pack.
The truth is, after we rescued that girl and returned to our Pack, I’m being faced with my troubles once again. My troubles of finding out who killed that young Luna. Time was running out. The men I sent to search for anything or anybody that had an idea about the lady who visited that day, still haven’t brought any positive result.
Earlier, we had gone hunting together. Home by home, searching for anyone who knows something about that day. But Beta Bronson and I had to retrieve from the fieldwork because the pack members were so scared of us. Our aura made them not to voice out their thoughts.
After we retrieved from hunting. Then the news of that girl was heard and our next option was to head to Alpha Arthur’s Pack. Now, we are back, but no positive news regarding the problem facing our pack.
“Alpha Blade,” Bronson moves closer to me. His hands dab his suit backward, and he fixes his hands in his pockets. “I know you’re trying so hard to mask your emotions. You don’t want me or the guards standing around to see how worried you are.”
“But I’m not worried.”
“Nu-uh! Your pacing feet and hands locked behind your back say something very different. You’ve been pacing back and forth for over twenty minutes nonstop. I know you’re worried about what’s going on, but can we try to stay positive? The men will eventually return with good news.”
Bronson knows me so well, and can detect my every move. That’s the same way I know everything he does.
“Alright, Bronson,” my feet pause, and I sink my ass on my throne. We were in the courtroom. We’d just finished one of those crazy meetings with those old men.
“Alpha Blade,” Ryder suddenly storms in. A little smile spread on his face causing me to raise a brow. Questioning. Seeing a smile on his face was rare. Even if it was a faint one that had instantly disappeared when he ducked his head. But this is a nice development for him. “There is good news,” he announces.
“Speak, Ryder!”
“There is a maid who resigned from her duties after the incident that night. She said she saw the face of the lady who entered your chamber.”
Silence fills the air as I give Ryder a doubtful look.
“The source is legit, Alpha,” he confirms.
“Order her in.”
“Alright, Alpha,” and with that, Ryder storms out.
“Are you sure this informant is legit? You know how people can be desperate and might want to get a reward even if it means lying,” Bronson takes his seat beside me.
“She better be legit and true to her words. I will have her head cut off if she tries to mess with me,” my index finger taps the handrest of my throne impatiently as we await the lady and Ryder.
The door to the chamber opens and Ryder walks in again. This time, with a lady, ambling behind him. I noticed her body was slightly trembling, and fear was written all over her face.
The head of the lady bows in respect as her feet stop dead right in front of the council table. “Greetings to you, Alpha Blade. Permission to speak my truth.”
“Speak, Lady!” My teeth grind as my ears stretch, eager to hear her speak.
