Monica’s POV
THE NEXT DAY
It was finally time to leave the hospital and return home. Nicholas refused to leave my side since yesterday.
He didn’t go back home and didn’t even pick up any calls from the company because according to him, I was more important.
I still couldn’t believe that I got my memories back. I couldn’t even explain how it happened because it just happened while I was asleep.
I woke up and realized that I remember everything. I remember waking up in Germany and finding Ethan by my side. I remember slapping Anthony because he hurt Ethan.
I remember yelling at Nicholas and glaring at him multiple times because I felt he was only trying to sabotage my relationship with Nicholas.
I remember Nicholas glaring whenever I told Aunt Ella I wanted his apples. I remember Nicholas’s coldness when he instructed that I enter the car after seeing Ethan that night but I didn’t.
I remember the harsh words he spoke to me. His tone, his voice, and his cold blue eyes whenever he was furious. you remembered it all.
“You look very beautiful but would you mind allowing me into your head so I can know your thoughts” Nichol said, embracing me from behind and wrapping his hand around my waist.
“I’m just thinking about a lot of things,” I said and he sniffed me, placing his nose on my neck
“You smell so nice that I want to eat you like an apple” he whispered in my ears.
I instantly removed his hands from my waist and turned to face him “Nicholas, must you think of s*x whenever we’re alone” I asked shyly, averting my gaze.
“I’m a man and I’m your husband. You look too good to be ignored. You’re too pretty and your gorgeous face turns me on whenever we are alone so don’t blame me. Blame yourself for looking so pretty and hot” he said, his eyes roaming my body.
With a shy smile, I spanked him on the chest “You’re crazy” I said.
“Crazy about you” he responded and I couldn’t help but look away shyly. This man always had ways to make butterflies flutter in my stomach.
“Ready to come back home Mrs Sterling?” He asked, stretching his hand for me to take.
“Of course Mr Nicholas,” I said with a hint of sarcasm and he smiled as I took his hand and we both walked out of the room hand in hand.
Nicholas stepped out of the car first and stretched his hand for me to take and I did. I took his hand and highlighted from the car
I paused on my track when I saw all the twelve guards and fifteen maids all in white shirts but the maids’ shirts were different from the ones on the security men.
I smiled when I saw Austin and Oscar standing still in their positions like they usually do. Their face were very serious and their eyes, gazing in one direction.
Welcome home ma’am
All the maids wore a white shirt on a black skirt and these letters were printed on them. I was touched by this act and I felt glad at the same time. It felt so good to be back home where I belonged
“Whose idea was this?” I asked, tears gathering in my eyes as I turned sideways to look at Nicholas who stared at me with love and affection in his eyes.
“It was my idea. I know it might look stupid and childish but I was too excited that you were coming home so__”
“I love it and it’s not childish. It’s beautiful and I’m impressed” I said and a broad smile appeared on his face.
“Let’s go in,” Nicholas said, holding my hand tightly as we both walked into the house, arriving first at the living room
I paused instantly in my tracks as I saw Mason and Macy standing by their selves without any support. A tear ran down my cheeks as I watched Mason start to take his first step.
He took his first step towards me, carefully walking to where I was I stood. Macy who stood behind him seemed to find what her brother doing attractive and she followed suit.
Macy instantly fell on her butt and just as I was about to go help my baby girl up, Nicholas stopped me “Macy will be fine honey. I only want you to watch” Nicholas said and I stood still.
Mason soon reached me, his little hands on my legs as he raised his gaze to look at me, his precious blue eyes shining brightly with happiness and delight.
I squatted as I hugged Mason so tightly. Macy who couldn’t walk without falling simply just gave up and crawled her way to me.
I laughed loudly amidst my tears as I watched my baby girl crawl to her mama. It was nice seeing my kids walk by themselves and I was once again grateful for my memories.
“Our kids say, welcome home mama,” Nicholas said, squatting behind Mason and Macy and more tears spilled down my cheeks.
“Stop crying already. You will make me start crying again if you don’t stop” Nicholas said and I couldn’t even hold myself from crying more.
They weren’t tears of pain or sadness but they were tears of joy. The joy of a mother seeing her kids finally take their first baby step was so exciting and interesting.
“Thank you, Nicholas,” I said, staring at the man who had been there and never giving up on me.
“Thank you, Monica,” he said with a smile on his face “Thank you for not dying, and thank you for coming back to me,” he said and more tears rushed out from my eyes.
I held Mason and Macy to myself, wrapping my hand around their then and placing little gentle kisses on their face, making them both giggle.
Nicholas joined the hug, pecking me on my forehead and wrapping his arms around us. It was nice to know that I had a beautiful family and a lovely, affectionate, and dotting husband.
