The leader of the thugs shouted urgently. Upon hearing this, the other thugs also reacted. They all picked up their firearms and aimed at Chris, then pulled the triggers. Bang! Bang! Bang! For a moment, gunfire erupted and was deafening. Facing the barrage of bullets coming his way, Chris swiftly dodged.
Chris gripped his firearm tightly and, seizing the right moment, fired a shot at the thug leader. Bang! A gunshot rang out, and the thug leader was hit between the eyebrows.
He fell to the ground, powerless, his eyes wide open in reluctance. Until his death, the leader had not expected that he, with his group of twenty or thirty fully armed men, could not kill Chris.
After dealing with the thug leader, the other thugs were even less of a challenge. In less than ten minutes, Chris had eliminated all of them.
“Chris, you are truly amazing!”
James shouted excitedly as he saw Chris approaching. Just then, Chris’s expression suddenly changed.
“Watch out!”
Bang! A gunshot sounded, and a bullet pierced through James’s lower abdomen.
Whoosh! Chris immediately rushed over and stomped fiercely on the head of a thug. Instantly, the thug’s head was crushed. It turned out that this thug, although hit by Chris, had not died but was merely injured. Unexpectedly, he had feigned death and seized the crucial moment to shoot James.
Chris walked over and immediately supported James, asking, “James, how are you?”
Chris looked down and saw fresh blood continuously oozing from James’s wound. Although they had not known each other for long, Chris knew that James was not a bad person. Despite his habits as a spoiled rich kid, he had not committed acts of bullying or oppression. Therefore, Chris did not dislike James; on the contrary, because of Candace, he considered James a friend.
Suddenly, a large group of police officers rushed in. Lancaster Frost and Candace also entered.
“Cousin, what happened to you?”
Candace cried out in alarm upon seeing James injured.
“Cousin, I’m okay!”
James shook his head. Although injured, it was not a fatal wound.
Candace looked at Chris with a reproachful gaze; she had expected Chris to come in and rescue James, not to have him get injured. Seeing Candace’s reproachful eyes, Chris’s face turned embarrassed. Chuckling dryly, Chris said, “Candace, I’m sorry, I failed to protect your cousin properly.”
“Hmph!”
Candace snorted coldly and then hurriedly sent James to the ambulance. Lancaster Frost, seeing that Chris was unharmed, had a very grim expression. He had never expected that twenty or thirty fully armed thugs were no match for Chris. Was Chris a man or a ghost?
The entire building was sealed off by the police, and the bodies of the thugs were taken away. Slap! “Are you all useless? You can’t even handle one Chris; it’s a disgrace!”
At that moment, in a lounge bar next to the bank building, Hollow Frost slapped Lancaster Frost fiercely across the face. Lancaster Frost bowed his head and said, “I’m sorry, Young Master, Chris’s strength was too formidable; all the thugs I arranged were killed by him!”

Lancaster Frost nodded, not daring to object.
Meanwhile, not far from the bank building, Chris had not left. He looked up at the leisure bar, a mysterious smile forming on his lips.
“The Frost family, huh? Good! Since you’ve decided to mess with me, don’t blame me for what comes next!”
Suddenly, Hollow Frost’s gaze shifted. In an instant, their eyes met, sparking a fierce clash.
“Chris!”
Hollow Frost’s face turned ashen when he saw Chris. Although he had never met Chris in person, he recognized him immediately from his photographs.
Chris looked at Hollow Frost with a disdainful smile, then turned and walked away.
“Chris, you wait! Whether you’re the guardian Primus or the lord of Emberwood Estate, you dared to harm my brother, and I will settle this score with you!”

James’s injuries were not serious. Although the bullet had gone through his abdomen, it had not hit any vital organs. He just needed some rest and would be able to leave the hospital soon.
Seeing that James was alright, Candace breathed a sigh of relief. If James had died, she didn’t know how she would explain it to her grandfather.
“Candace, I’m sorry. I failed to protect your cousin,” Chris said apologetically as he arrived at the hospital.
Candace shook her head.
“Chris, this isn’t your fault! I will tell my grandfather about this. We need to investigate and find out who the real culprit is!”
At this, Candace looked furious. To harm her cousin was unforgivable!
Chris said, “No need to investigate further. I’ve already found out. The Frost family is behind this. They did this to target me, but James got caught in the crossfire.”

Seraphina looked at Hollow Frost impatiently.
“Hollow Frost, why did you ask me to come here?”
Hollow Frost’s expression was cold.
“Seraphina, I need your help with something. I need you to kill someone for me.”
Seraphina scoffed.
“Let me guess. You want me to kill Chris Shelby, the Primus of Amerosia?”
“That’s right!”
Hollow Frost gritted his teeth.
“Chris has humiliated my family and crippled my brother. I can’t rest until he’s dead. If you help me kill Chris, I’ll agree to any conditions you set.”
Seraphina mocked him.
“Hollow Frost, what could you possibly offer that I’d want?”
Hollow Frost snorted.
“Seraphina, your father Archer Wintersong has left Middleton. We both belong to the Dragon Order, and many in the Order don’t think highly of you. If you help me kill Chris, I can help you secure a solid position within the Dragon Order!”
