An unexpected friend

When she barged in screaming, Fiona wanted to take action but I signalled to her to hold on. I knew this would happen sooner or later.
I was expecting her to do something like this because the Amara I knew would never accept this reality. Nevertheless, I’ll have to cut her off completely from the company. It’s not over until it’s over.
“What hard work did you do?” I asked, still maintaining my calm voice.
“What??” She asked, her voice and expression not hiding how angry and bitter she was.
“Well, you claimed to have done all the hard work in the company and I just want to know what they were.”
“I have been running the conpany on my own for four years. I did all the work…”
“…. and you weren’t able to make the company what it is now in those four years so I really doubt you actually did something.” I taunted, making her anger increase.
“And what did you do? You left the company on your own to chase a stupid love. You left for two years and I stepped in to cover up for you. Do you have any idea about how hard it was for me to do all those on my own?” She asked.
“Leaving the company was the biggest mistake of my life but don’t worry, you’ve already been relieved of your ‘hard work’ now that I’m back.” I answered, almost chuckling when I mentioned the words ‘hard work’.
“No!! I won’t have it. You can’t be the new CEO while I’m still around!!” She screamed at the top of her voice.
I smiled smugly, seeing her raging mad. I crossed my legs across each one, folded my arms underneath my boobs and I raised my chin high.
“Too late because I’m already the CEO.” I answered in a rather cocky tone.
“You’re unfit to be the CEO!!”
“Why don’t you tell that to the board members appointed me as the company’s head.”
She opened her mouth to retort but closed it back almost immediately when she didn’t know what to say. She grabbed her hair in anger and screamed out like a mad woman.
I didn’t flinch as she trashed around. My eyes were on dad as I feared her loud screams might be disturbing him. I was about to ask Fiona to make her stop when she did so by herself.
“You!!” She yelled out as she pointed her index finger at me.
“You really think I would let you have it all so easy??” She asked, trying to look scary but I didn’t falter.
I stood up, my gaze firm and unyielding. “Why not? They were all mine to begin with.” I answered.
Seeing that she wasn’t going to win at that moment, she resorted to violence. She raised her hand and was about to attack me but Fiona was faster. She caught her easily and caged her in her strong arms.
I turned around and picked up the ward’s telephone. I dailed the security’s number and was answered immediately.
“There’s a mad woman in the vip ward. I need her thrown out immediately.” I said and dropped the telephone down.
“You can’t throw me out!! I’m Hector’s wife!! Do you think your father would condone what you’re doing?” She screamed. Hearing my father’s name from her mouth made me angry but I tried my best to calm myself.
“As you can see, dad isn’t really around to save you. You’re being a nuisance so I have the right to do whatever I want with you.” I said. Within a few minutes, the hospital’s security came into the room and they took Amara with them.
Though she gave them a really hard time as she kept on screaming loudly and thrashing around, thereby attracting the attention of the sick patients and workers in the hospital.
They were finally able to throw her out of the hospital and they never let her in anymore despite her barking out orders at them. After all the ruckus, i plopped down tiredly on the chair.
Even though I tried to put on a strong facade, I was really exhausted. I have never had a moment of rest since dad’s collapse and me taking on the temporary role of the CEO.
I sighed and massaged my temples when I remembered I still had a load of work to finish before considering resting. I picked up the files I was dealing with before Amara barged in and wanted to continue but couldn’t.
I felt Fiona’s unflinching gaze on me and it made me really uneasy. “Do you have something to say?” I couldn’t help but ask.
“What are you going to do about her? You know she isn’t going to stop here.” Fiona said, raising her concern.
She was right. Amara never backs down no matter how much she fails. She always comes back more vicious and this time, it won’t be any different. She won’t take the humiliation easily and that would only make her take rash decisions.
I smirked when an idea popped up in my head. “I plan to do what I’ve always been planning to do.” I answered.
“Which is?”
“To cut her off completely from the company and our lives.”

When Amara realised that no matter how loud she cussed and screamed, they wouldn’t let her back in the hospital and she was only attracting bad attention to herself, she left.
When she got to the Dyson’s mansion, it was the same thing. The security wouldn’t let her in saying they had orders from Catherine to do so. She angrily left and went to book a room in a motel.
She couldn’t afford an hotel because apparently, all of the money in her credit cards had been seized. She was using the remaining money left from the one Andrew had used to buy the expensive jewelry for Catherine.
As she stared around the motel’s shabby room, she couldn’t help but feel anger course through her veins. She had already had Catherine in then.
She was able to frame her and the weakling, Hector, believed her but now, he just had to collapse. Now that he was in the hospital, Catherine had taken over and seized all of her precious belongings making her penniless.
The great Amara Dyson had been reduced to such a shabby motel with little to feed and wear. She never ever dreamt that a day like this would come. She couldn’t go back to how she lived before.
Never!! She couldn’t allow Catherine have it all after all of her hardwork. She needed to do something. She needed to take everything back but now that Hector was unconscious and Andrew was out of the house, there was no one to back her on her quest.
She roamed around her room, trying to come up with a good idea to get everything back when she suddenly heard a knock on her door. Startled, she stared at the door silently as she wasn’t expecting any visitor.
She wanted to open the door and check who it was when she remembered her ordeal in Miami. Fear gripped her immediate as she recalled the events like it recently happened. She still hasn’t gotten over it.
“Who’s there??” She managed to ask when the person knocked again.
“A friend.” The person answered. She still couldn’t tell who it was as the voice wasn’t one she recognized.
“Open up!!” The person demanded in a rather impatient tone, scaring her.
She picked up a small pocket knife from her purse to use to defend herself before proceeding to open the door. She opened it a little bit and poked her head out to see who it was.
She saw an unknown man but immediately recognized the person standing behind him. Her mouth dropped open in shock as she wasn’t expecting someone like him here.
“We finally meet Mrs. Amara.” The man muttered as a smile appeared on his handsome face.
“Richard Cartwright.” Amara muttered in shock.
