I do

Book:Revenge On My Ex Husband Published:2024-11-19

As Nicholas’ gaze descended on me, I was so lost in it. He had a lot of emotions showing in them; affection, care, happiness and the best, love. Being lost in his loving gaze, I couldn’t help myself.
That was when I realized that was the moment, the moment I had been hoping for. Unlike normal couples, the lady gets proposed to but for me, I mustered all the courage to do it myself because I couldn’t go another day of living without him.
I took in a deep breath and; “Let’s get married.” I blurted out.

Nicholas’ heart skipped a beat when he heard that. He couldn’t believe what he had just heard.
“What???”
“I said let’s get married.” Catherine said again, a little bit louder so he could hear her well.
Nicholas was really stunned at her direct proposal. He sat on his spot in shock with his gaze never leaving hers. Being eyed like this, Catherine felt really shy so she bowed down her head.
At that moment, she felt fear and was really wondering what was going on in his head.
“What if he rejects my proposal??” She asked herself while fidgeting on her spot.
Nicholas on the other head was so happy. He never realized a day like this would come. Catherine was really asking him to get married to her. It was like a dream come through to him.
At that moment, he wanted to jump into her arms and shout; “Yes!! I’ll marry you!!” It took a lot in him not to do that. He still had to be very sure she wanted to marry him.
“What about Andrew?” He asked. Not like he actually cares about how he would feel when they get married but she was married to Andrew so he didn’t want any complications later.
“He’s out of the way.” Catherine answered.
“Huh??” Nicholas didn’t really understand what she meant by that so she had to elaborate.
“I found new evidence to throw him out of the house. Turns out he’s been cheating with several other women apart from Amara.”
Hearing that, happiness surged through Nicholas. “So he’s out of your life now?” He asked happily.
Catherine scoffed when she saw him smiling. “He is.” She answered.
“One more question. Are you really serious about marrying me?” He asked slowly.
“I have never been more serious in my life.” She affirmed.
“You sure you won’t regret it?” He asked again and she nodded her head.
At that moment, Nicholas’ heart overflowed with great joy. He held Catherine’s hand tightly and vowed;
“I promise to never let you down, to never let you regret your decision of getting married to me. From this day on, we’ll be one, till our last day on Earth.”

I was really thrilled to have reconciled with Nicholas and even better, I was getting married to him. Every moment of my life was slowly turning into a more joyous one.
After a few days of being in the hospital, my health had finally improved and the doctor agreed that I could be discharged. Nicholas arrived early to the hospital to handle the discharge procedures.
I wasn’t mad at dad anymore but he had something important to do at the company so I told him not to worry about me. He doesn’t really know I’m getting discharged at the moment but I’ll tell him after I leave the hospital.
When Nicholas came into my ward, I couldn’t help but notice the wide smile dancing on his face. Like me, he was also happy to get married. This was the beginning of my recovery but also the the start of our new life together.
He finished up with the discharge procedures soon and we left the hospital. He drove over to a boutique and we walked in together.
“What are we doing here?” I asked when we got to a private section.
“To get you new clothes.” He answered.
“What’s wrong with the ones I’m wearing?” I asked as I stared down at the sweat pants and shirt I was putting on.
“You can’t wear them to the marriage registration office.” My eyes widened in shock when he said that.
“We are doing that today??” I asked in surprise.
“When else would you have us do it??” He asked back.
“Possibly after Andrew have signed the divorce papers.”
“Well, you don’t need to worry about that because I’ve taken care of that issue.” He said
“You have?? How??”
“I don’t share my secrets, I just need you to relax because for now, you’re a single woman.” He muttered and pulled out a fancy looking dress from the rack.
“Try this on.” He muttered as he placed it on my hands.
I didn’t argue any further and walked into the changing room. After I was done changing into the dress, I walked out to meet him. He was sitting on a couch with his eyes glued to his phone.
I coughed out to let him know of my presence. I noticed how his eyes widened in admiration when he raised his head to look at me.
“How’s the dress? Do you like it?” I asked as I did a small twirl in front of him.
“I don’t like it.” He muttered. What?? Then why was he staring at me that way.
“If you say so. I’ll just change into another o…”
“I love it.” He added, cutting me off.
“Really??” I asked, as the happy smile returned back to my face.
“Yes, you look so breath taking in it and it would look even hen better if you add this..” He said as he showed me a pair of silver heels.
He held my hand and led me the couch. He made me sit on it and helped me out on the heels. I stared at my reflection in the mirror and couldn’t help but admire myself.
“You have a really good taste in women’s fashion.” I said.
“No, it’s you. You have a very perfect body that looks good in anything.” He praised as he came to stand behind me.
I couldn’t help but blush when he said that. “Hold your hair up.” He ordered and I did that immediately with questioning him.
He took that chance to hook a necklace around my neck. When he was done, I couldn’t finally see how the necklace looked like. The necklace glittered in the well lit room.
It was a silver necklace that had my initials inscribed on it. I turned around to face him with a wide smile on my lips.
“Thank you so much.” I muttered while he smiled back at me.

After our time at the boutique, we went to the marriage registration office, hand in hand, our faces beaming with happiness. The staff welcomed us with smiles, asking about our intentions.
The registration started immediately and when asked if we take each other as our lawfully wedded spouse, I and Nicholas exchanged a look of love and said “I do” in unison.
