Dinner date
Today was the day, my first date with Angel. I was sitting before my mirror as my make up was being done by the make-up artist Angel hired.
I was very nervous so I clutched my robe as my heartbeat raced. I was really excited for tonight and my face burned from it.
“You can look at yourself now pretty.” Ari, the make up artist said but instead I looked in the direction where Camila and Cassandra stood, patiently waiting for my make over to be done.
Their faces were bright with smiles and eyes filled with admiration. Their stare told no lies and it got me emotional.
“You’re so beautiful Thea.” Camila said and I could see tears glisten in her eyes.
“Come on Camila don’t tell me you’re crying cause of a make up?” I said shocked and amused at the same time. She was the most emotional amongst us three.
“It’s not that Thea.” She said wiping her tears then she chuckled. Her laughter was beautiful, moving my eyes to well up as well. She came closer and Cassandra watched her then she looked at me and I couldn’t believe my eyes, she had tears wet her lashes.
“Oh come here you two. You’re going to make me cry. It’s not even my wedding day.” I said laughing as I pulled them for a group hug. They laughed as well and we stared at each other again in silence.
“I’d cry a river that day because you’d look even more beautiful.” Cassandra said. I gave Ari a signal to excuse us which she did. I wanted to have time with my girls.
“You deserve everything good Thea. You’re a beautiful soul.” Camila said and I carressed her cheek. I tilted my head back trying not to mess my make up with tears. I let air out through my mouth also trying to calm my breath as well.
Cassandra held my hand and looked at me with the softest expression.
“Angel will be blown away when he sees you.” She said and I feel a blush creeping up my cheek.
“I’m blown away by your reactions too.”
“We love you so much Thea.” Camila said and I blow a kiss to them.
“I love you both too.” I said and we share another hug.
Ari comes back in after I am dressed and does some final touches before leaving finally.
Now it was time to meet Angel and go start our date night. Camila and cassandra stayed behind because I told them I was both shy and nervous to meet Angel.
“He’s here.” Cassandra said when the first knock came. “Alright….” She said coming in front of me. “You really need to take a deep breath. She said and I nodded but didn’t do it yet.
“Thea?” Camila called. “Breath in.” She said and I did so. “Now, breath out.” I did so too but my heart was still racing like the exercise had no effect.
“Feel better?” Cassandra asked and I shook my head.
Another knock lands on the door and my heart skips a beat. It begins to beat spoiling the little bit of calmness I might have had before. Cassandra smiles and walks towards the door.
Both Camila and I were shocked thinking she was opening the door for Angel to come in. I felt lightheaded and almost tripped but Camila held my arm.
“Are you okay?” She asked and I nodded.
“I’m just startled.”
Cassandra finally opens the door but not completely.
“Where’s Thea.” I heard Angel’s voice.”
“Can you give us a minute please?” She said.
“Is everything alright?” He asked again sounding worried.
“Of course Angel we just need a minute.” She said and closed the door gently. She turned towards me and said. “You have a minute before that door opens again.” She held my hand and smiled lovingly while Camila rubbed my shoulder slightly.
We didn’t say anything and just let the minute pass by.
“It’s time.” Cassandra said and I nodded having mustered a little courage to meet Angel now.
I waked towards the door and Camila opened it for me.
Angel’s scent enveloped me immediately and I was compelled to look at him. He had a worried expression at first but when his eyes settled well on me, he froze.
I wondered what was going through his mind, did he like what he was seeing? I mean to the degree I wanted him to.
Angel stepped forward and my breath hitched. I dipped my head avoiding his gaze.
I felt chills wash over my body as he took another step towards me. He stopped and his finger touched my jaw gently. My lips quivered and my body shook slightly as he touched me then he lifted my jaw up slowly. I took a second to not look at him then gradually, I lifted my eyes to stare into his.
I found myself blinking. The look in his eyes….
“Wow….” Angel whispered. His eyes toured my visage slowly, taking details of every inch and corner of my face. He looked blown away and I was overwhelmed with the joy that filled my heart.
He looked incredibly handsome. He withdraws his finger from my jaw and stared at me intensely. I let a smile lengthen my face and I took in his perfection.
We didn’t say anything and seconds went by as we just admired each other, getting lost in our gaze.
“My world….” Angel said breaking the beautiful silence between us and making it up with his spelling voice.
“Yes.” I answered softly.
“I knew you’d look pretty but I never expected you to look this unearthly. You are art itself.” He said as the tip of his fingers carresed my face.
Describing me as art itself? He didn’t need to say more to burst my bubbles. I couldn’t say another word to him so I just spoke to him through the smile in my eyes and lips.
Angel stretches his hand to me and I place mine in it.
“Shall we?” He said and I answered.
We head downstairs meeting the others. They all had a wowed expression and If I haden’t seen myself in the mirror I would have thought they were exaggerating. We finally left the mansion and headed to our destination.
We got to a five star hotel, the moment we stopped, there was a lady wearing a bright smile waiting for us.
She identifies herself as our dinner host and leads us to the Vip elevator.
I’m curious as to where our venue was exactly but I held down my curiosity till we got there.
Angel intertwined our fingers and found it hard to look away for even a second. I found myself staring back at him. I really wanted to hug him and feel his warmth but I had to let the night run it’s course. Our hug and kiss and every other thing in-between would come. I just had to remain calm.
The elevator doors chimed open, and Hailey, our dinner host, ushered us to the venue. My jaw dropped as I gazed at Angel in awe.
“Angel…” I whispered, my voice barely audible.
“We’re not there yet,” he teased, leading the way up the stairs to the rooftop.
As the door swung open, my eyes widened in wonder. The artistic decor took my breath away. A personalized sign at the entrance read: “Happy First Date, Angel and Thea.” The background music was soft and carressed our senses.
We were greeted by beaming waiters, who presented me with a stunning bouquet and a fancy plate holding a card. I opened the card, and tears pricked at the corners of my eyes as I read Angel’s heartfelt words:
“Tonight, I want to show you how much you mean to me. You light up my world, Thea. Forever yours, Angel.”
I looked up at him, my eyes shining with emotion. “You’re going to ruin your makeup,” Angel reminded me, his smile gentle.
I laughed, blinking back tears, as he led me further into the rooftop oasis.
“I can’t believe you rented the entire place,” I exclaimed, taking in the expansive space. The decor was breathtaking, worthy of a five-star hotel rooftop dining experience.
“Only the best for you,” Angel whispered, his eyes sparkling with affection.
As we stepped forward, a waiter greeted us with two glasses of champagne, which Angel and I eagerly accepted. I smiled and thanked him, and then Angel led me to the seating area.
The ambiance was breathtaking. String lights, fairy lights, and candles lit up the night , casting a romantic glow. We sank into plush sofas, enveloped by candles, fresh roses, and a stunning view.
“Angel, this place is incredible,” I whispered, still in awe.
“I’m glad you like it,” he replied, smiling.
“No, I love it, Angel,” I corrected, my voice filled with joy. “I’m so amazed by the effort you put into this date.”
Angel’s eyes sparkled, and he took my hand, his touch sending shivers down my spine.
As we dined, discreet butler services attended to our every need. Our meal was served and we savoured a 3-course meal, paired with wine, on fine china and crystal glassware
“I’m truly impressed my love. Thank you for this.” I said stretching my hand across the table to touch Angel. Angel held my hand and kissed my knuckles.
“You deserve the very best Thea. I just want to give everything you desire and deserve from now forward.
His words touched my soul. I can see how genuine he was. He really did look like he wanted to give me the world.
“There’s something I’d like to give you.” He said and I got excited. I smiled and he snapped his finger. Soon, a waiter came bringing a box to me. It was decorated and the waiter handed it to me.
“Angel?” I called in surprise, my curiosity pushing me to know what was in there.
I opened the box and gasped as soon as I saw the sparkling diamond necklace, bracelet and earrings in there.
My lips part in surprise by the stunning gift.
“You sparkle like this diamond in my life Thea.” He said and for the first time I let the tears in my eyes fall.
“This is beautiful Angel.” I said in a teary voice. I was so excited.
“You’re more beautiful.” He said and tears spill down my face even more.
“Do me the honour.” I said asking him to help me wear the jewelries.
“My pleasure.” He said and stood up then came behind me. He took the necklace and placed around my neck. I touched it and smiled then I held Angel’s hand and leaned on it. He leaned as well and dropped a kiss on my hair.
Dessert was served afterwards then Angel and I went ahead to watch the breathtaking view of the city.
We had a glass of wine each and cheered our drinks to each other.
Angel was behind me, hugging me with one arm as we enjoyed the view.
Minutes went by and Angel turned me around to face him. He took my glass and his and kept it aside then he held my face and stared deep into my eyes.
“I hope you enjoyed your evening.” He said and a bright smile lengthened my lips.
“Words can’t describe how I feel right now Angel.
I’m here, enjoying this beautiful view. A pretty gift. Exquisite decore, everything Angel. Most importantly I’m enjoying this evening with you.” I said and he let out a silent laugh looking satisfied with my answer. He looked at me again but this time, more intensely.
“I’m so in love with you Thea.” He said and carressed my face.
“You’re my everything Angel, I love you so much.” I said and he smiled at me then he placed his head gently against mine. The tip of our nose touched and slowly we brought our lips together and locked them in passion.
Releasing our love for each other in the way we savoured each other’s lips.
