With a loud bang, Honor Noire slammed his hand down on the table and cursed, “This Chris is utterly shameless! So despicable! So disgraceful!”
After his outburst, Honor Noire’s face was marked by anger. Going forward, the Noire family would have to cooperate with Chris, letting him earn billions of dollars each year for nothing.
Honor Noire sighed lightly. Although he was very angry, there was nothing he could do about Chris. He glanced at Blake Noire and warned, “Don’t go provoking that scourge Chris unnecessarily in the future!”
Blake Noire nodded and said, “Dad, I understand!”
Now, Blake Noire wouldn’t dare provoke Chris. He had been severely taught a lesson by Chris before. His leg was crippled, his family jewels were damaged, and he had lost all his money.
The news of Chris visiting the Noire family quickly spread among the other major families. As Chris had now become a person of interest to all the major families in Middleton, not only did he visit the Noire family, but he also approached other families seeking partnerships. With the Noire family already signing up, what choice did the other families have but to agree?
In one day, Chris had secured a substantial number of orders for Panda Networks. With these orders, it was only a matter of time before Panda Networks became an internet giant. The next day, when Chris brought a stack of contracts to Candace’s office, Candace was startled.
“Chris, are all these contracts signed by you?”
she asked, staring at the mountain of contracts on the desk. Candace flipped through a few and found they were all contracts with the major Middleton families, all of whom were giants in the internet industry.
Chris asked with a smug smile, “Candace, with these contracts, can we become the internet giant of Amerosia?”
Hearing this, Candace couldn’t help but give a wry smile.
“Chris, the total value of these contracts is already in the hundreds of billions. Becoming an internet giant isn’t going to be easy. You’re making me want to quit my job! After all, with or without me, you could lead the company to success.”
Chris chuckled awkwardly, “Candace, don’t joke like that. I still need your help. What would I do if you weren’t here to help me when I leave Middleton?”
Later that evening, Esther told Chris that she wanted to return to the East Coast. The recent kidnapping of Susan had left Esther very worried. Although Susan had been successfully rescued, Esther still wanted to go back to the East Coast to check on things. Most of the business at the Middleton branch was already taken care of, and Jake could handle the rest.
Hearing Esther’s words, Chris hesitated about returning to the East Coast so soon. At that moment, his phone rang. Chris picked it up and saw that it was a call from Lynx.
“Boss, I’ve discovered some crucial intelligence! A fragment of the Dragon Emblem is hidden among the ten noble families, but I haven’t yet determined which one. However, the Noire family is the most likely place!”
“What?”
Chris was startled upon hearing Lynx’s words. The matter of the Dragon Emblem fragment was of paramount importance. Hence, Chris had always tasked Lynx with gathering information about the Dragon Emblem fragment. Unexpectedly, one of these fragments was hidden within one of the top ten noble families. Chris instructed, “Lynx, first find out which of the ten noble families is hiding the Dragon Emblem fragment. If you find a clue, let me know immediately.”
“Okay!”
Lynx nodded and then hung up the phone. After ending the call, Chris looked at Esther with an apologetic expression and said, “Dear, I’m sorry, but I still have things to take care of here, so I’m afraid I won’t be able to go back to Middleton with you.”
Esther smiled and replied, “That’s alright! You stay here and take care of your business, and then you can come back to the East Coast once you’re done!”
“Dear, you’re so understanding!”
Chris stepped forward and embraced Esther, and then the couple proceeded to make love…
The next morning, Esther took a flight back to the East Coast, leaving Chris alone in Middleton. Without Esther by his side, Chris felt a sense of freedom. However, what troubled Chris was that Seraphina frequently visited, often dressed very provocatively, which always stirred him.
Ring ring! That day, James called with urgent news.
“Chris, I have important news. The Middleton Four Young Masters are returning!”
“The Middleton Four Young Masters? What’s that?”
Chris asked, puzzled by the call. James explained, “The Middleton Four Young Masters are the founders of Crimson Bloom! Hollow Frost, Lysander Frost’s brother, is one of them. You crippled Lysander Frost’s legs, and Hollow Frost will surely not let you off this time!”
Upon hearing this, Chris smirked. Truthfully, Chris had never taken these so-called Middleton Four Young Masters seriously. As the prestigious Amerosia Primus, how could he regard these heirs as a threat?
Nonetheless, the news of their return quickly spread throughout Middleton. It had been a year since the Middleton Four Young Masters were last seen in Middleton. The return of the Middleton Four Young Masters especially excited Crimson Bloom.
Meanwhile, at the Frost family residence.
“Chris, you dared to cripple my brother, I will kill you!”
A young man in an Amerosia battle suit, adorned with four gold stars on his shoulder, said angrily. Hollow Frost, the eldest son of the Frost family and Lysander’s brother, was also the future heir of the Frost family. A year ago, Hollow Frost had embarked on a secret mission abroad for the Amerosia military. A year later, upon his return, he found his brother’s legs had been cruelly broken.
The brothers had been very close since childhood, and now seeing his brother crippled was unbearable for Hollow Frost. Leonard Frost tried to calm him, saying, “Hollow, don’t be impulsive! Chris is the powerful Amerosia Primus, not someone we can afford to provoke lightly.”
Hollow Frost snorted coldly, “What Amerosia Primus? Chris merely had the dumb luck to become a disciple of Archer Wintersong. If it weren’t for his master being Archer Wintersong, how could he possibly have become the Amerosia Primus?”
