“Ha ha ha…”
“That’s right! Affections can be cultivated, take it slow. My granddaughter is second to none!”
“Hurry and take Mr. Clark to your place! I’ll inform the clan that no one is to visit you today!”
Elis Pearce gently patted Callie Pearce on the shoulder, his eyes still filled with indelible shock.
He had always thought Flynn was famous for his medical skills, which were extraordinary and divine, even Mr. Price had to admit inferiority.
Nathan and the Spencer family introduced Flynn because of his medical expertise.
Little did they expect that not only was Flynn’s medical prowess against the heavens, but his martial arts were also terrifying.
If they could have such a powerful son-in-law, the Pearce family would surely thrive and prosper for centuries!
Ah, the Kaur family is truly foolish, discarding what others dream of as if it were a worn-out shoe!
Foolish!
Ridiculously foolish!
Despairingly foolish!
Especially Madeline, truly blind!
You prattle on, saying Flynn is from a different world than yours.
Indeed! But you’re not worthy!
You are but an ant on the ground, while Flynn is like the sun and moon in the sky!
He, lowly as dust, vile as a beggar?
Nonsense!
He is the one who is truly lofty!
If this Greater Sovereign were to stand by the Kaur family, even the Spencer family would have to show respect!
And yet you divorced him…
From the day he met Flynn, Elis Pearce paid extra attention to Flynn and his circle.
He had his own motives, hoping his granddaughter could rise through association.
It’s not shameful; any family encountering Flynn would try to forge a connection.
But Flynn had many women around him, and Callie Pearce never had a chance.
The more this was so, the angrier Elis Pearce became at Madeline’s behavior.
This woman, always boasting of her superiority, pursuing the ultimate in status and idolizing Layla, wishing to become like her.
But what you pursue is something Flynn could easily provide.
And you don’t know that your husband is a hundred times stronger than Layla!
In terms of medicine, Flynn is Mr. Price’s master.
In terms of martial arts, Flynn is a Greater Sovereign.
What can the proud phoenix-like Layla compare to? Flynn completely overpowers her!
And yet, Madeline, you still look down on Flynn.
Dismissing his genuine talents as arrogance, egotism, delusion…
“Oh, right! Callie Pearce, Rose, and the others probably don’t know about Mr. Clark’s status as a Greater Sovereign, so don’t spread it around.”
“Mr. Clark is now a free man, and even though he’s now with Scarlet, they’re not yet discussing marriage. You must seize the opportunity!”
Elis Pearce smiled again, a sly old fox.
Despite always being at home, he continuously observed the dynamics in Niarak.
If Rose knew Flynn was a Greater Sovereign, she would definitely use it to suppress Layla.
After all, Rose had once used the God of War as a smokescreen; if she knew Flynn’s capabilities, she would surely exploit them.
Just revealing the Greater Sovereign’s status would make Layla and Lilia as fearful as gods, offering up the Sharp family’s assets for absorption.
Unfortunately, Elis Pearce had only guessed half right.
Among the girls of Niarak, indeed, only Callie Pearce was aware of the details of Cloudgate Mountain.
Rose and the others did not know.
But with Rose’s current character, even if she knew, she wouldn’t directly reveal Flynn’s strength.
She wants her enemies utterly destroyed and to profit handsomely from it.
Rose plans to dig a pit for her enemies, a volcanic crater, luring them to jump in!
But is this the extent of Flynn’s ultimate strength? Just the tip of the iceberg!
Flynn’s true power is far more terrifying than Elis Pearce could ever imagine!
“Grandfather, Callie Pearce likes Mr. Clark, and it’s not for gaining anything.” Callie Pearce felt somewhat troubled and aggrieved.
Her feelings for Flynn were pure; she did not want to become her grandfather’s tool for currying favor with Flynn.
“Child, do you think your grandfather cares about material things?” Elis Pearce spoke earnestly.
“For many years, wealthy families have sought your hand in marriage; if not thirty, then twenty have certainly come calling.”
“Among them were top families from the south. If your grandfather wanted to climb the social ladder, wouldn’t you have been married off by now?”
“Your grandfather knows about your feelings for Mr. Clark; he just wants to help you!”
Elis Pearce only had this one granddaughter, whom he had cherished since she was a child.
Three years ago, Callie Pearce was so ill she wished for death, and it tore her grandfather’s heart.
At that time, he thought that if his granddaughter did not survive, he would not want to live either.
He feared that Callie Pearce would be scared alone in the afterlife!
Later, when Flynn cured Callie and she fell for him, her grandfather supported her wholeheartedly.
But Flynn did not feel the same way.
After Callie Pearce’s confession was rejected, she cried in her room all day.
Her grandfather cried for her pain.
Since then, he was determined to help his granddaughter win Flynn over.
Even if it meant Flynn would only be her consort…
Thus, the old man began using his vast network to investigate Flynn’s mother’s whereabouts.
Partly out of gratitude.
And partly to create opportunities for Callie to meet Flynn.
“Grandfather, I’ve worried you,” Callie Pearce said, understanding Elis Pearce’s intentions, her eyes moistening, voice choking.
“Go on, no matter the outcome, you are my pride,” Elis Pearce said with a smile, cheering Callie Pearce on.
“Sure, I promise you, Grandpa, no matter the outcome, I will accept it with a smile,” Callie Pearce gave her grandfather a smile and left the room.
In the courtyard.
The car trunk was stuffed with logs, and Flynn was sitting inside the car watching videos of women dancing. Seeing Callie Pearce coming, he quickly put away his phone.
He then cleared his throat and said with a laugh, “Short videos are so annoying. I wanted to watch the news, yet it keeps recommending these kinds of videos.”
Seeing Flynn’s serious demeanor, Callie chuckled and said:
“Mr. Clark, I’m not Scarlet. If you like, you can continue watching.”
Flynn poked his head out, and seeing that Elis Pearce hadn’t followed, he sighed in relief and grinned, “Who says I wouldn’t dare to watch in front of Scarlet?”
“Joking! I watch whatever I want! Can she control me?”
For some reason, after saying this, the image of a bright, shiny pair of scissors flashed through his mind, making him feel suddenly uneasy.
“Ms. Wong certainly wouldn’t dare to control you,” Callie Pearce covered her mouth and giggled, her eyebrows arching playfully:
“The dance in that video is called ‘The Charming Dance.’ If you’d like, Callie Pearce can perform it for you.”
“It’s just up to Mr. Clark if he wants to give that opportunity.”
“Sure!” Flynn raised an eyebrow, pretending to be profound, “I know a bit about dance; I could give you some pointers.”
He wasn’t interested in Callie Pearce, but that didn’t stop him from enjoying the sight of a beautiful woman dancing.
Especially curious to see Callie Pearce in shorts and stockings, dancing a hot routine.
It must be quite a sight.
Love knows no bounds, but life has its limits, after all.
A beauty dancing before his eyes was certainly a delightful thing.
But if the crazy old man were beside Flynn at that moment, he might grab his ear and ask:
“Young man, was the oath you swore last night just hot air? I’m eager to see how long you can keep this up!”
