Logan’s POV
I let out a tired sigh, my face twisted in a grimace. I could feel the weight of everything crashing down on me, and I was too close to tears.
“Aria would never do that to me,” I whispered, then squeezed my eyes shut, trying to block out the pain. “I’d kill her with my bare hands before she does….”
Erinne leaned forward, her voice sharp. “How are you so sure of what she would and wouldn’t do? She did claim Denderick’s child was yours, did she not? Aria is capable of doing anything.”
I shook my head, forcing my eyes open as I sat up. “No. I-”
“Oh, listen to me, Alpha Logan!” she snapped, cutting me off. “Aria is not who you think she is!”
There was still a frown on my face, but I could feel doubt creeping in. I didn’t want to believe her, but there was something in her voice, something convincing. Maybe it was the alcohol dulling my senses, or maybe it was something else, but I felt myself slowly starting to believe her.
A small smile tugged at Erinne’s lips. I could see it-she knew she had me in her clutches, and there was absolutely nothing I could do about it. I was useless!
She turned back to massaging my feet, her voice turning jealous and vindictive. “You know I was her slave, right?”
“Right….” I groaned.
“She told me that she’d fallen in love with Alpha Denderick,” Erinne revealed. “So, when you pushed her away, she finally got her chance to be with the man she loved. She is with Alpha Denderick now, in his pack. And I can assure you that she couldn’t care less about you.”
A small gasp slipped from my lips. It was so out of character for me, and I was taken aback at first. But Erinne pressed on.
“So, what you need to do right now,” she murmured, slowly standing to her feet, “is to completely forget about her existence. Aria is out there, living her best life with the man she dearly loves, while you sit here, moping and feeling sorry for yourself!”
Her words hit me hard, and something in the corners of my mind told me that she was being too harsh. I had to punish her for that. But how could I, when my bones felt like they were on fire?
Softening her voice, Erinne continued. “Aria should be dead to you. The sooner you realize that, the better for you.”
I sighed and closed my eyes, feeling the weight of everything. “I just want to forget about her for a few minutes. Everywhere I look, I see her. Even when I’m sleeping, she is right there in my dreams.”
Erinne crossed the small space between us and walked over to me, stopping directly in front of me. “I can help you forget about her, Alpha. Just… let me do it.”
She reached out and took the now-empty goblet from my hands, placing it gently on the table behind her. Then she pulled me closer by my shirt collar.
“You know, in the end, all that you will have and all that you ever choose to be will be nothing without me.” She said, running her nail over my lips. I started to lean in for a kiss, but she drew back, a teasing smile on her lips.
I groaned and grabbed her waist, pulling her forward roughly. I leaned in and trapped her mouth in mine in a lustful kiss, my breathing slowly becoming heavier.
I tasted the bittersweet tang of the alcohol on her lips before delving deeper into the kiss. She moaned softly under the pressure of my mouth, and I muttered a soft “Goddess!” before letting her go and stepping back to look at her face.
She slowly began to unbutton the dress she had on, all the while staring at me with a seductive smile. She undid the buttons and pushed the dress down to reveal her breasts.
She had nothing underneath.
I moved forward again, more than ready for her this time. I offered my mouth to hers as she took it in a kiss: one hand lingered on her waist while the other grabbed one of her breasts. I squeezed lightly, and she let out a squeak and then giggled.
She pushed me back, and I collapsed onto the couch. She straddled my thighs, both hands on either side of my face, and gave me a long kiss before stepping back and taking hold of my belt buckle.
She deftly unbuckled my trousers, and I leaned upwards slightly to help her pull them off. She pulled them down to my knees, then straddled me again, taking my hard dick between her thighs.
“Goddess, woman!” I uttered as I felt her slick folds. She wasn’t wearing anything down there either.
I sighed as I felt myself slide into her. She began to ride me: slowly at first, and then our tempo began to increase.
I sighed in bliss as she rode me expertly, both hands on my shoulders. I could feel relief washing over me. The feeling of being inside her was exhilarating, and soon I began to groan softly as our rhythm increased. I grabbed her waist for support and began to push myself into her from underneath.
Soon, the leather on the couch began to squeak under the pressure, and I could feel myself coming even closer to an orgasm. Suddenly, I stiffened and moaned loudly, pouring myself into her as I had my release. She collapsed on top of me, her hair in my face, as we both panted heavily.
We stayed that way for long minutes. I could feel a smile spreading on her cheeks as she lay against my chest.
But as I lay there, my mind started to clear. Something didn’t feel right.
And like a veil lifting, my vision cleared and my mind came back to normal.
“What are you doing?” I growled, my voice thick with annoyance. I jerked up and pushed her off my chest.
She leaned away, still sitting on my lap. “What do you mean, Alpha Logan?”
My eyes blazed with anger as I looked around the room. “What happened here? Why am I naked?”
“We just had sex, Alpha Logan,” she reminded me, still maintaining that smile. “Did you not remember? You were drunk, do not worry. I assure you, you enjoyed every bit of it.”
I jerked my legs upward, forcing her to her feet. “Why are you in here? Who let you in in the first place?” I snarled. “Why did you take advantage of me?”
“Because I did tell you that I was on your side!” she countered, her voice tinged with fear. “I tried to comfort you, and it led to us having sex.”
At first, I stared at this woman, taking in her white-blonde hair stained red by the fireplace behind her. Her face was in a shocked expression, hands hovering between us as she hesitated to touch me. And in that moment, I hated the very sight of her.
She wasn’t Aria. She will never be Aria.
“Get out!” I roared.
