Chapter 89
POV: Queen Tamara Vikesh
She felt weak all of a sudden like the stress and exhaustion doubled upon hearing those words from Tamika. But before she could even react, Tamika suddenly fainted as she and Shanaia instantly went to her side.
Tamara called one of the sentinel wolves outside the Throne Room when Kage suddenly went inside and carried Tamika into their room.
Until now, she hadn’t been on speaking terms with Kage after everything that happened.
She knew that sooner or later she would have to rekindle things with him.
“What happened to her?” Kage seriously asked.
He looked strangely concerned while looking at Tamika, but she just shrugged it all off.
“She suddenly fainted.” She worriedly replied.
Kage checked her pulse and heaved a deep sigh.
“She must be too exhausted. I recently discovered that she hadn’t been sleeping for three straight days now.” Kage clenched his jaw as he stared at Tamika.
They could feel his arising annoyance towards the woman sleeping soundly on the bed now.
Shanaia let out a breathy sigh.
“She was overworking herself. Now, she must be very devastated. I advise you both to leave this room for now so she can rest. I will stay with her for now.” Shanaia suggestively told them.
Tamara nodded her head in agreement, while Kage pursed his lips together as he walked towards the door without even saying goodbye.
“Are you sure you’ll be okay here?” She concernedly inquired.
Shanaia nodded her head as she gave her a quick side glance.
“Yeah, Your Highness.” She simply replied.
Tamara finally nodded her head and stood up from sitting on the bed.
“Very well, then. I need to wait for Hades in the receiving area. Inform me once she’s awake. I need to know what is happening to her and to confirm what she just told us a while ago.” Tamara seriously stated.
“I just have a request for now, Your Highness.” Shanaia suddenly interjected before she could even leave the room.
Her forehead furrowed.
“Sure, what is it?” Tamara curiously asked her.
Shanaia swallowed hard before she stared directly into her eyes.
“In the meantime, please do not tell anyone about what Tamika told us a while ago. We still need to confirm it from her and… I don’t want anyone to feel unsure of her gifts. It might affect her.” Shanaia softly pleaded.
Tamara suddenly felt a pang of pain in her voice one thing that was just so familiar to her. But she instantly shrugged it all off from her mind and gave Shanaia a small smile.
“Of course. This will still remain a secret within us, for now.” She assured her and Shanaia just nodded her head.
For a short while, seeing how Shanaia took care of Tamika, reminded her of Shahara. She truly missed her so much, but she knew that she wouldn’t be here with them anymore.
With that particular thought in mind, she decided to silently walk out of the room. Her mind was already preoccupied with Hades’ situation now.
Anxiousness and worry were taking over her entire system as the main door suddenly opened while she was walking down the grand staircase.
She saw relief the moment she saw Hades stepped foot inside the castle.
“Hades!” She excitedly shrieked.
Hades, on the other hand, welcomed her with wide arms and hugged her tightly.
“I am so worried.” She tearfully admitted.
Hades let out a deep sigh and inhaled her scent as he placed his nose on her bared neck. She stopped herself from moaning because of the tickling sensation that she felt because of the intimacy that he was giving her.
She could even feel him kiss her temple before he broke his tight embrace.
Tamara wanted to groan in disagreement, but seeing how exhausted he was, she tried to understand.
“How did it go? Are you all okay?” Her worries never left her not until she made sure that he was truly okay.
Hades simply nodded his head and then smirked at her afterwards.
“Yes, my wife. Tomorrow, we will begin with our next plan.” Hades had confirmed which had put her a bit at ease.
But thinking about Tamika’s condition, she suddenly felt restless which Hades had already noticed.
“Why? Is there a problem while I’m away.” He worriedly inquired as he held her with both hands.
Tamara instantly shook her head and gave him a small, sweet smile.
“Uh, no, Hades. I am just too exhausted and worried. But now that you are here, I will surely be at ease.” She tried to act as if it was nothing.
Hades gave her a curious look like he was trying to weigh her emotions when she chuckled at him.
“Stop staring at me. Everyone is looking at us.” She smilingly whispered as she felt her face profusely flushed.
Because that was the only time, she saw that her claim was right.
Everyone in the room was suppressing their smiles and trying to mask their amusement.
‘What the hell? In front of all of these people? Really, Tamara? After they tried to battle with life and death, you are doing these cheesy things?’ She castigated herself inside her mind and her face turned redder this time, even her ears were already red like a tomato.
She bit her lower lip as she saw Shimuel trying to look around as if he wasn’t listening to their conversation. Arlan was biting his lower lip as he was looking at the floor suppressing his smile. Raven was grinning like a Cheshire cat while waiting for his brother to look at him and gave him an opportunity to tease him more, but Hades’ eyes were only darted to hers alone and she didn’t know whether it was a good thing or not.
Well, she might say a good thing especially that her heart was like it had been resurrected after not seeing Hades.
She waited for Hades to finish talking to his subordinates, Raven, and even Kage who had just gone there to ask for news about what happened before they proceeded to their room.
“I still need to talk to Tamika about what happened.” Hades seriously stated as they walked towards their room.
Her heartbeat suddenly escalated as she swallowed hard.
“Uhm, actually, she fainted a while ago because of overfatigue.” She instantly replied.
His footsteps came to a halt as he stared at him; she could see a twinge of guilt, concern, and curiosity in his eyes.
“What?” Hades lowly mumbled out.
Tamara let out a deep breathy sigh.
“She had been using her gift for us for three consecutive days without sleeping. Now, let us leave her time to get the rest that she must have.” She seriously informed Hades.
Her King slightly shook his head as he bit his lower lip and massaged the bridge of his nose.
“This is a crucial moment for us. And I am very sorry for her.” He darkly told her.
“I bet that’s the case. But we can’t do anything for now but wait. Besides, the next plan would be tomorrow, right? Maybe, we can still proceed with that.” She carefully suggested.
Hades suddenly looked worried and doubtful before he slowly shook his head.
“I hope Tamika will still confirm this to us to make sure of our victory. I don’t want to take any chances, wife.” Hades soulfully told her as he faced her showing his vulnerability and raw emotions.
Tamara couldn’t help but feel amazed at how this man could surprise her every now and then. She couldn’t believe that this man was capable of showing everything to her even his very own weaknesses and fears.
“I don’t want to take any chances… not now, not ever. Most especially if it’s you and our baby.” He sincerely stated making her knees tremble with all the emotions that he was giving her.
Her heart raced as she placed her hand in his face while the other remained in his hold.
“I promised to look after myself and our baby while you fight for us, my love. There is nothing that can take us away from you.” Tamara vowed solemnly as Hades closed his eyes trying to feel the surreal moment they had together.

POV: Lamina Darkwood
She wanted to shout out loud as she saw how their small vicinity was ruined in just a matter of hours. She gritted her teeth as she tried to stop her inner wolf from taking over her and decided to attack the King’s castle like what he did to them.
That wasn’t a wise thing to do for now. She needed to check as to how far did they gone this time.
“Mother…” Aeron suddenly called her.
She asked him to check all of his experiments. It was a good thing that the laboratory was still operating after all of the attack. The King might have completely lost his mind doing such a low blow stupid thing.
His foolishness of targeting the vicinity where they were residing as their target. They must have thought that all of the elixir was there and that a simple bombing of the laboratory would work.
But no that wasn’t the case.
The laboratory had been built in a most unique way, and Aeron had been making sure to create a metal wall that would protect the inside even though the bricks and cement outside would crash down.
“How’s the elixir?” She seriously inquired.
But of course, she wouldn’t take the risk that the elixir that she, her father, and now, her son was working hard to create perfectly would just get destroyed in just a snap.
She wouldn’t allow it not on her watch.
Aeron nodded his head.
“It’s still working, Mother. It isn’t ruined by them during the attack.” Aeron seriously confirmed.
She wanted to shout in joy, but her calm demeanor remained as she grinned viciously.
“They thought they could take us down just like that, huh. Well, they wouldn’t. Not just like that. Not in a million times.” She ruthlessly said before she looked at Aeron.
“Find your father and sister. We need to plan as soon as possible. Let’s give them what they want. And you must get ready. We are going to give them what they want. They started this war, then we will surely give it to them. Peace talks are over, we have no time.” Lamina darkly stated.
Aeron swallowed hard as he nodded his head and obeyed his mother’s wishes without any more commentaries.
“I have something to tell you, Luna Lamina.” Elder Courdamus suddenly appeared at her side, the moment Aeron walked away from them.
“What is it?” She boredly inquired.
For now, her plates were full and if this Elder would just tell her rubbish things, she might lose her patience and kick him out for good. He had been a pain in her *ss for too long already. And her patience for him was already running out. Although, on the other hand, she still needed him because of the other allies that they had were in this old, wicked man’s hands.
“Haven’t you realized why the Queen wasn’t with them when they attacked?” Elder Courdamus playfully told her.
She grunted in frustration.
“If you want to tell me something, just tell me straight to the point, Courdamus. I don’t have time for your mind games.” She annoyedly warned him.
She saw the fear in his old, tired eyes and gave him a small, unbelievable smile.
“Because the King already had an heir, Luna. The Queen is pregnant. And that only means another problem for us, right?” He suddenly turned serious as he said those words.
With that, Lamina felt her nails elongate as she growled with heightened ferocity and fury.
While someone from the shadows felt the same intensified emotions as Lamina.
“I will kill you, Tamara.” She ruthlessly whispered as she stepped into the darkness getting drowned by her own pain, jealousy, and insanity.
