Chapter 87
POV: King Hades Pierce
“I have something to tell you.” Raven seriously stated as he entered the Throne Room.
He had this unreadable expression painted on his face.
Hades just finished talking to Arlan and Shimuel about Dillion’s grave. No matter how he had committed this unlawful act, he couldn’t deny the fact that he still wanted his corpse to be buried near the palace.
“About what?” He matched his seriousness with his he even raised his left brow in response.
Raven heaved a deep sigh.
“I talked to Dillion before he died.” He languidly started while Hades remained silent waiting for him to continue his words.
“He told me his reasons for doing everything he did. He said that his family is indebted to Lamina’s father, and he couldn’t do anything but follow the last promise he had sworn to his father.” Raven added.
Hades leaned against his throne as he tried to remain expressionless.
“Well, I don’t see any significance to it all. We all know why the Darkwoods did this treachery. They are trying to achieve immense power and authority the same goal as the old Darkwoods, right?” Hades emphasized.
Raven slightly shook his head as if he had just discovered something.
“But there’s more to it than what we thought it was. Dillion revealed that Lamina is a Kersh. And not just a simple part of that clan. She is the only daughter of Lomero Kersh.” His brother finally exposed the news to his brother making him grit his teeth.
Now, everything has fallen accordingly. Knowing that Lamina was the man’s daughter it was the last piece of the puzzle that they were trying to complete for all these years. Now, he finally discovered that Lamina had something else another reason to do this.
Lomero Kersh.
He couldn’t believe that he could still meet one of his own his own daughter to be exact. He still couldn’t believe that Lamina could still do this despite the fact that it was her family who owed them, big time.
She was truly a great pretender and a woman without dignity. He couldn’t comprehend why she was doing this despite the fact that her family was the one to blame for everything that happened to them.
For that man, Lomero, was the man who had caused their family to drift apart and their parents’ deaths.
A very inventive and crazy man who had been trying to create an elixir to manipulate everyone.
One thing that explained how Lamina’s son, Aeron, had discovered that elixir was already long gone.
Before he could even speak a word, Tamika suddenly entered the room without any consent. But instead of getting mad at her insolence he was abruptly surprised at her shaken emotions. Behind her were the sentinels, who had this frightened expression written all over their faces.
“W-We apologized, Y-Your Majesty. S-She-”
“Just leave.” He cut the words of one of the sentinels before glaring intently at Tamika.
He ignored how the sentinels gave each other a curious stare before getting out of the room.
“I know that you might be mad because of my insolence, but this is urgent, Your Majesty.” She seriously stated.
“What is it? Have you seen something again?” Hades curiously asked her.
At first, he still couldn’t believe that she was really a seer, but later on, he just realized that she was a true seer that the moon goddess had blessed. Her visions had given them enough information to plan ahead as well as for it to be victorious.
It’s just that some of her visions weren’t given directly but in a sort of tiny metaphorical manner instead.
Tamika let out a deep sigh as if she was trying to hide or to stop her own frustrations.
“You must act fast, Your Majesty. Blood is everywhere and that elixir will create chaos.” She meaningfully stated.
“They are so close to completing the army as well as making the elixir work perfectly. Once that happened, there’s no point of victory on our part. We would lose everything.” She sinisterly continued.
He darkly stared at her and then at Raven, who seemed to be in shock about her vision.
“We’ll be doing the plan as soon as possible, then.” He assured her.
“And one more thing…” She trailed off as she pursed her purple lips together before heaving a deep sigh.
“What is it?” He curiously inquired.
“Tell that salutary wolf guy who is tailing me all the time to be alert and stay away from the enemy. Don’t let him draw blood for them. And neither to the both of you.” She deliberately added as if it was just a bitter thing for her to say.
Tamika didn’t wait for his response anymore and turned her back on them. Well, as if this was the first time, she pulled that impudent stunt. She and that Shanaia girl had been doing it to him all this time ever since they had stepped their feet into the palace.
So, that rude act of hers didn’t surprise him anymore.
“Oh! And I also remembered something very important, too.” She suddenly uttered before she turned around to face them once again.
This time, her expression suddenly turned deadly and critical as she gave her that grim look.
“You must protect your child, Your Majesty.” Tamika seriously added before she gave him a knowing stare.
Hades swallowed hard fear suddenly crept into his heart. One thing that he couldn’t believe he still had after all of the things that happened to him.
“W-What do you mean?” He asked in between his gritting teeth.
Tamika let out an inaudible sigh.
“That you might be facing the most difficult thing in your life once this war begins, Your Majesty.” Tamika ominously replied with her grim face.
Hades bit his lower lip so hard that he could already taste his own blood. He even ignored Raven’s worried face while looking at him because he was busy thinking about his own plans.
No.
He wouldn’t let anything happen to his child.
He would do everything to protect them, even if it meant giving up his own life.
Because they were his light, his hope, and his life.
If something bad happens to them, being alive wouldn’t mean anything anymore.

Meanwhile, after Cessair’s encounter with the King, he instantly broke the news to his wife.
***
POV: Lamina Darkwood
“Dillion is what?!” She furiously yelled.
Her husband had just come back from dealing with the King, when he broken the news that her informant, Dillion, was already dead.
“He’s dead, Lamina.” He simply replied.
Lamina heaved a frustrated sigh as she walked back and forth in front of her table. They were inside her office. She was busy talking with Aeron a while ago, and now, here was her husband, telling her that the one who was feeding them information about the King’s plans was now dead?!
“Why now? Have you killed him?!” She accusingly spat at her husband who had just given her a deadly glare.
She swallowed hard.
Lamina couldn’t deny that her husband was truly a silent man, but at the back of it all, she also knew how deadly he could be once he put something into his mind and strong will.
“I… I’m sorry.” She softly whispered trying to calm her raging nerves.
“Stop being overly dramatic, Lamina. Aeron is so close to creating the elixir perfectly. You don’t have to worry about Dillion’s death. And for your information, I didn’t kill him, so stop raising your voice at me.” His voice suddenly became dark and intimidating.
She clenched her jaw trying to stop her shudders and hide her own fear. She had seen Cessair lose his patience once, and she wouldn’t dare wake up and see that particular demon hiding inside him once again.
“Besides, it isn’t my intention to kill him. I was aiming for Hades, but he took the blow. I believe he isn’t worth your trust in him anymore. He had grown softly as one of the King’s third in command.” Cessair seriously added as he took the bottle of wine and poured for himself.
Her brows furrowed as he watched him leisurely sipped from his wineglass.
“What do you mean by that?” She curiously inquired.
Cessair boredly stared at her.
“That Dillion is already caught off guard by that other third in command. He had finally admitted that he was the traitor. Hades, Raven, and whoever they were, had heard everything. Despite all of it, he still saved the King. If it wasn’t for him, I had already hit the jackpot, damn him!” He suddenly turned furious as he spat those words.
Lamina gritted her teeth.
So, Dillion had finally broken his promise to their clan, huh?
“Did you manage to give him a critical blow, then? Enough for him not to talk until his grave?” She seriously asked this time.
Cessair chuckled humorously at her question.
“That’s a silly question, my dear. Of course, I was aiming for the King, and I even drank one of Aeron’s experiments. I believe he wouldn’t give any piece of information to them. Not even a bit.” He proudly replied.
Well, now, she could still thank fate for what happened. At least, everything was still safe… well, for now.
And they still need to make their plan fast.
She was about to talk when a loud knock suddenly interrupted them.
“Mother, it’s me.” Aeron’s voice resonated on the other side of the door.
Cessair shot her a knowing look his eyes twinkling with hope and excitement at the prospect of good news from their son.
“Come in.” She loudly replied.
Aeron was still wearing his lab gown as he graced them with his presence. He was a bit shocked to see his father inside her room especially that he hadn’t yet taken his shower. A scent of blood was still lingering around them because of him.
“So, what is it?” Lamina tried to hide her excitement as she asked him that, but she knew that she was failing miserably.
Aeron swallowed hard. He stared at her and then at his father and then back to her before he finally spoke.
“I am already close to perfecting the elixir, Mother.” Aeron seriously said, using his low voice.
Lamina wickedly smiled at him.
“Really, son?!” She excitedly yelped and eagerly walked towards him.
His husband, who was sitting on the couch, seemed to be pleased with him, too.
“B-But, there’s one thing that I still n-need, Mother.” Aeron suddenly interjected their exhilaration.
“What is it? Just tell us, Aeron.” Cessair curiously inquired as he stood up and faced them.
Aeron swallowed hard as he moved his deep blue rounded eyes from his father and then to her.
“I need blood samples, Mother…” He seriously replied.
She should have told him to draw her blood instead when he instantly added the words that had shaken her entire being.
“… from the Royal Blood.” Aeron plainly added making her problematic this time, especially when Cessair gave her an idea.
“It’s simple and easy, Aeron. Call that bastard son of yours, Lamina, and ask for his blood.” Cessair simply suggested.
But she knew that she couldn’t just do it. But knowing Cessair’s expression, she didn’t want him to get mad at her now.
Lamina nodded her head, as her mind was drifting away.
‘This wouldn’t be as easy as it will be.’ She mentally thought.
