Chapter 83
POV: King Hades Pierce
He simply nodded at Raven as they both silently walked towards the enemies’ fortress on the South Side. Based on Shanaia and Tamika’s information, the bloodlust rogues the rogues that Aeron had experimented with were camping there.
But he instantly raised his hand when he suddenly felt like something was wrong.
His forehead creased when he realized something.
There were no rogues around!
Not even one!
“What the f*ck!” He lowly let out a curse under his breath.
He slightly shook his head as Raven stared at him they might be thinking the same thing.
They were about to go back when the bloodlust rogues slowly went out from the trees surrounding them.
His forehead creased at how they would know that. Tamika had given them a special liquid that could hide their smell, but how the hell…
“F*ck whoever that traitor was!” He whispered under his breath as he gritted his teeth.
Raven loudly growled, signaling Dillion and Shimuel to instantly move away from their post which was a few meters away from them to ask for help from Kage and the others.
They knew that he and Raven couldn’t take all of these rogues now. Especially since he felt that he was getting weaker once again. He couldn’t even shift into his wolf for he was so scared that he would lose his control over it and finally lose his humanity.
Raven started to fight the rogues that were coming on their way. He must be grateful that even though he was in his human form, he could still fight against them.
He was panting hard when he felt Raven’s back from behind. They were both fighting from each side. But by one rogue’s luck, he landed a hard punch that he hadn’t evaded, and he ended up on the ground.
Raven followed as he saw blood on his arms. He grunted in pain he knew that it was poisoned.
The other rogues were about to attack them again when someone cut them down into two.
Shanaia’s sharp katana split them up into two just like that. His forehead creased as to how she managed to do that in a split second and in a flawless manner.
Dillion assisted Raven while Shimuel helped him get up. Shanaia and Kage were trying to hold the rogues as they were running away.
The moment they almost arrived at the boundary, Kage and Shanaia immediately followed, and the rogues slowly walked backwards and ran away. The sentinels instantly surrounded them protecting them from a possible attack.
“What the hell?!” Tamara’s furious voice resonated inside the receiving area, the moment she saw his bruises and Raven’s condition.
“You can interrogate them once they are well, Your Grace. For now, let us treat their wounds first.” Tamika immediately interjected.
‘Now, this will be a long day again.’ He mentally thought.
Tamara got the first aid kit as she sat in the receiving area. Dillion put Raven into his room so Tamika and Kage could treat his wound.
“Now, care to explain this to me?” She annoyedly inquired her husband while tending to his bruised face.
Hades let out a deep sigh.
“I don’t want you to get stressed. I need to go down to the South Side with Raven. The bloodlust rogues are just too strong, and that only us can fight them. We don’t want anyone to be harmed as a result of this.” He calmly explained.
Tamara let out a defeated sigh.
“If that’s the case, how did this happen? Only us here knew about the infiltration. But how?” Her voice instantly turned serious.
Hades gritted his teeth.
“Well, there’s a traitor among us.” He lowly whispered as he clenched his jaw.
His lips pursed together because of that indisputable possibility. He just knew that there was a possibility because how come that no rogues were guarding the post?
Someone that knew about their plan told Lamina like what they were probably thinking about.
“This time, I demand you to tell me everything that is happening, Hades.” He heard Tamara say making him look at him with surprise.
“But-”
“No buts, Hades. I already talked to Elder Zeparu and Tamika. They told me that the baby is okay and strong. I want to help you, so at least tell me everything. At the very least, let me assist you by telling me what is going on so that I can tell you my side as well.” She said it obstinately, putting down the cotton ball and even folding her arms in front of her chest.
Hades slightly shook his head. Tamara put down her folded arms and held his both hands while looking intently into his eyes.
“I understand you’re just being cautious about our baby. But I want to help… Besides, this is for him. I want to help because this is for his future, too. So, please…” Tamara softly pleaded.
Hades let out a defeated sigh.
“Fine. But don’t go to the field work and fight, okay?” Hades gently told her as he held her lovely face.
Tamara sweetly smiled at her.
He still couldn’t believe how Tamara could make him head over heels in love with her. Her effect on him didn’t falter it just intensified by the day that passed by.
“So, what are your current plans?” Tamara inquired.
“I will talk to them. I will make sure to catch whoever the traitor is. He or she will pay for crossing me like this.” Hades menacing aura heightened as he clenched his jaw.
“Your Majesty, Prince Raven is out of danger now. Good thing that the poison isn’t that strong.” Tamika coldly informed him.
“Good. I want you all to gather in the Throne Room.” Hades suddenly announced making them look at each other.
Tamara just let out a deep sigh beside her.
“You can just stay here, if you want.” He whispered in her ear, but she instantly shook her head.
“Nope. I will go with you.” Tamara immediately replied before they went together to the Throne Room.
The moment they both sat down in their own thrones, he smirked at everyone around them.
“I just can’t believe that this happened, huh? A mole is slowly becoming bold enough to cross the line.” He dangerously started.
“With all due respect, Your Majesty, but I’m lost. What are you trying to say?” Arlan curiously inquired.
Hades let out a sardonic smirk.
“I gathered you here to say something to everyone. Whoever is spying on me and betraying me should make sure I don’t catch you because if I do, I won’t hesitate to rip you apart.” Hades mercilessly warned.
Everyone suddenly turned silent as tension instantly engulfed them.
“This is my final warning.” He finally said using his cold and lifeless voice.
