Chapter 75
POV: Queen Tamara Pierce
“Is everything alright?” She worriedly asked Hades as he entered their room.
He might not have had to tell her about it, she knew that something was wrong. So, even though, she had a strong desire to hug and kiss him tightly, she had to stop herself from doing so because of the gloominess that was surrounding him no matter how much he tried to hide it.
Tamara didn’t know how she had managed to be sensitive about it, but her pregnant hormones might be helping her right now to be extra sensitive to everyone around her.
Besides, she also knew that something was wrong based on how darkened Hades’ aura was no matter how much he tried to cover it up with his small smile. Her ruthless and sweet husband just couldn’t fake his emotions anymore not in front of her.
“Nothing, wife. How are you?” He acted like nothing was worrying him.
Tamara’s brow suddenly shot upwards.
“Just tell me, what is happening, Hades. You know how I hate being left in the shadows.” She stubbornly stated.
She knew that the moment, Hades discovered that she was pregnant, he became more and more cautious and protective of her. She loved that feeling, though, but it irritates her too, most of the time.
Hades heaved a deep sigh.
“Wife…” He called her and sat beside her.
His huge and calloused hands held hers tightly, but she could still feel the gentleness, the way he caressed her.
“Just tell me about it, Hades. I just wanna know. I am not that fragile.” She insisted.
But Hades just gave her a swift sweet kiss on the lips to stop her from talking.
“I don’t want you to be stressed for now, wife. So, please, give me peace of mind. Stop worrying about me. Raven and me we are both doing our best to protect everyone, and we are close to doing so.” He gave her a sincere smile.
Tamara felt a bit reluctant, but his sincerity had given her peace.
“Just promise me not to be stressed and stop worrying, okay? Be sure to be healthy and strong for our baby.” He seriously told her as he touched her still flat stomach.
She nodded her head.
“Please assure me, wife.” He looked like he had been worn out when she raised her hand to hold his face.
Hades smiled and closed his eyes.
“Fine. But once the kind elder assures me that I am already fine, you will tell me everything, okay?” She adamantly said.
Hades let out another deep sigh before he nodded his head.
“Fine.” Hades told her.
And before she could even say anything again, he leaned into her and kissed her passionately. With that, she knew that she couldn’t say anything, anymore.
Well, as if she would dare to stop him from doing what he wanted to do now for she also wanted the same thing now.

POV: Lamina Darkwood
“Everything is falling according to plan.” She wickedly smiled as she was standing in front of the table where every ally that they had gathered together.
“Now, the war had already started, but we mustn’t worry, because we already had the upper hand. Let us all raise our glasses. For our victory!” She viciously stated, as she raised her wine glass, and everyone cheered with them.
“Everyone please, you may help yourself and enjoy our bounty meal.” She seductively announced as she motioned the food around.
Lamina smilingly greeted everyone cheering for her and congratulating them. Aeron and Leah were at their table and were eating the sumptuous food.
“Lamina…” Cessair, her husband, called her seriously as he moved towards her and pulled her to a quiet corner of the room.
They had been building this secret hideout since time immemorial, and now that they had already declared war which they had been planning for a long time ago, Lamina couldn’t just believe that everything that she had been longing for was already happening.
“Congratulations, my dear.” Cessair sweetly told her and held her waist.
“Congratulations to the both of us is the right term for that, my dear husband.” She temptingly stated and placed her arms around his neck.
Cessair gave her a quick kiss on the lips before leaning against her forehead.
“But there’s one thing that I am curious about, Lamina.” Cessair suddenly turned serious as he stood up.
Lamina’s forehead creased as she curiously stared at her husband waiting for what he was trying to tell her.
“About that salutary wolf guy. What are you planning to do with him?” He interestedly inquired, but she just gave him a meaningful smirk.
“Oh, dear husband, it isn’t as if you didn’t know me.” She wickedly told him as she traced his husband’s strong biceps using her index finger.
Cessair just shrugged his shoulders wanting to know what was running through her mind.
“I know that you didn’t like him even from the very beginning, Cessair. And I have abandoned him once, why can’t I do that one more time, right? For now, we still need him, so brace his presence until we have already achieved our victory, okay?” Lamina cruelly explained causing Cessair’s smile to widen because of her abrupt assurance.
“I just want to make sure that Leah and Aeron are the ones who will legitimately inherit our triumph, dear. I don’t want that bastard son of yours to still take what is supposed to be our children should have.” Cessair honestly said and Lamina just seductively shushed him with her index finger placing it gently in front of his lips.
“Don’t worry about it, dear. I’ll take care of it soon. But for now, let us make sure that nothing will ruin our plans, okay?” Lamina assured him and gave him a quick kiss on the lips.
Little did they know, someone from the shadows had already heard everything that they were talking about with his heart slowly breaking apart.

POV: Kage Esmeray
He’d never felt so much guilt in his heart as he did right now.
Kage exhaustedly sat on the huge rock under the light of the moon.
He felt his heart clench in pain as Tamara’s face instantly filled his mind.
The way he saw the pain in her eyes because of his betrayal, the way her eyes moistened in tears, and the sadness that reflected into her face it was all hunting him.
Now, he felt like he was lost in every way.
He didn’t know what to feel anymore. He couldn’t find it in his heart to feel the very reason why he had decided to do what he had done. He couldn’t find it in his heart and to convince himself anymore that he was doing this for himself.
Yes.
It was a selfish thing for him.
It was a selfish thing to choose to find the love that he was looking for by his parents. And since his father was already long gone and he had just discovered his mother, he was hoping that even the tiniest emotion of love from his mother could fill up the missing piece inside his heart.
But he was wrong.
And even if he regretted everything that he had done now, he couldn’t just go back.
However, it was already too late and all that he was feeling right now was guilt that was filling the void inside his heart.
And that was the greatest regret and pain that was lingering in his entire system.
He gritted his teeth as he let out a deep sigh before pulling out a small Swiss knife from his pocket. He played it in between his fingers so that it wounded his thumb a bit creating a tiny drop of blood that escaped from his skin.
But the strange thing was, he couldn’t feel the pain from his bleeding wound.
“If you are going to take your own life now, you are just going to blow away the chance that the moon goddess has given you.” A soft and gentle voice suddenly interrupted his thoughts.
His brow furrowed as he looked around, but he couldn’t find anyone.
“Who the f*ck are you?” He furiously asked.
A shadow from the huge lofty tree appeared, and he was just so ready to throw the sharp knife into whoever it was and he did!
But the woman just caught it using her index and middle finger!
His eyes widened as he saw who it was.
Her familiar purple-tinted lips and her deep purple eyes were enough for him to distinguish who it was by face but not by name.
“You must be aware by now that your chance has already been laid out in front of you. All you have to do now is to stop being so childish and selfish.” Her voice was soft yet menacing.
But more of his ego is getting trampled on the ground causing his inner wolf to growl in deep frustration.
“Who the heck are you to tell me that?! You don’t know me!” He angrily spat, but the woman just smirked at him.
But he noticed how it never reached her eyes. And watching her right now, she just looked like a lifeless woman which sent a shiver down his spine.
‘I’ve seen her before, but who is she?’
