Chapter 72
POV: Queen Tamara Pierce
Only the hooting of the owl was heard in the midst of darkness. It just intensified the heaviness of the tension that was surrounding her and Leah. She didn’t know what the heck had just happened to her. It was like she had suddenly turned into an odd creature something that she didn’t know what.
Leah let out a wicked and low chuckle while staring eerily at her. She could sense that something was up with her. Something dangerous and strong. Something that was out of her league, yet she needed to face.
Tamara felt like her heart was hammering inside her ribs too fast and too hard that it hurt her a bit. She swallowed hard as she felt the sudden darkening aura that was surrounding Leah that it worried her a bit.
“This is one of Aeron’s inventions. I just tried it now, but it seemed so effective, huh?” Leah mockingly stated as she suddenly jumped and vanished in front of her.
Before she knew it, the side of her where her ribs were hit by Leah’s hard punch.
Tamara was thrown into the huge tree before she fell into the ground disturbing the solemn silence that was surrounding them. The birds flew leaving their nests, most probably because they didn’t want to suffer from their wrathful fight. She grunted as she coughed some blood some flowed into the corner of her mouth.
She swallowed hard as she tried to compose herself.
‘What the heck just happened?’ She mentally thought.
Leah let out a hearty laugh as her eyes wickedly smiled at her.
“My, my, so, this is what it can do, huh? It is so amazing!” Leah gleefully stated as she stared surprisingly at her both hands.
Tamara slowly stood up as she gritted her teeth trying to ease the pain that was throbbing at her side. She might have some broken ribs now.
Leah chuckled at her reaction.
“Now, I can try my newly found power on you, huh?” She mockingly said.
Tamara sadly smirked at her making Leah get annoyed once again. She spit out the blood that was inside her mouth before she grunted at her.
“You still need to drink some liquid before you finally gain strength, huh? That’s too bad, Leah leaning with only that kind of stuff.” She playfully stated pushing her to her limits.
And before she could even step aside, Leah loudly screamed and attacked her. Now, she was ready to make some counterattacks. But Leah was moving so fast and with the strength that she had finally unleashed that Tamara couldn’t keep up.
She was again hit in her face, and the corner of her lips bleed. Her heart thumped so fast because she realized how strong Leah had become. She was only slightly hit by her punch, but the impact had made her lips bleed.
Now, she knew that this wasn’t a good thing to her.
Leah roguishly smiled at her before brushing her tongue into her lips.
And before she knew it, she suddenly vanished into thin air and appeared in front of her. Her inner wolf became restless that she evaded her sudden attack.
Her eyes turned crimson red and then darker shade of brown. She frustratedly groaned as she felt her veins slowly burning her skin.
“Ahh!” She grunted in pain.
She heard Leah ask what was happening to her, but she had no more strength to talk. She bit her lower lip as she was breathing heavily.
Tamara clenched her chest as she curled up into a fetal position. Her sweat was accumulating in her forehead as she tried to control her animalistic side.
Then a loud scream calling her name suddenly filled her ears. Her eyes blinked as she heard the King’s voice trying to find her.
She was breathing heavily as she gritted her teeth and let out a loud cry.
Tamara firmly closed her eyes as she tried to sooth herself, but her ears had caught something that she couldn’t believe was happening in front of her.
“Leah… let’s go.” A familiar voice resonated into her ears.
She tried to open her eyes and she saw a silhouette of a familiar man becoming clearer into her eyes. He was standing in front of her with Leah no emotion was visibly written into his face.
“But-”
He harshly stared at Leah shutting the hell out of her.
“If you are this stubborn, then, you are by yourself, then.” He seriously stated.
And before she could finally close her eyes, she saw how the man just walked away from her like she had no meaning to her… like they were never knowing each other.
Tears slowly streamed into her face as she had finally felt the exhaustion taken over her entire being with the pain that was lingering into her heart.
She bit her lower lip and question herself why.
‘Why do you have to this to me?’ Tamara mentally asked before she had finally collapsed.

POV: King Hades Pierce
It was certainly torture for her upon learning that Tamara didn’t meet his subordinates. He had taken a bit longer in fighting with the lycanthrope rogues and now, he clenched his jaw as he remembered Tamara who was lying into the ground, unconscious and weak.
He wanted to punch something, but his worry was so great that it had occupied his mind rather than the anger that was lingering inside him. But he needed to let Elder Zeparu check on Tamara’s condition and see what was happening to the Hunting Game.
Prince Raven instantly went to him, the moment he stepped out of the room.
“They were all gone.” He seriously stated.
His jaw clenched because of the abominable anger that he was feeling because of the news. Well, he was already expecting it to happen, and it was making his blood boil with excitement and great fury.
“Find them.” His voice was deep and dark causing his brother to swallow hard before nodding his head.
“And find whoever the traitor is as soon as possible.” He darkly ordered him.
“Whoever he is, I’ll make him pay.” King Hades ruthlessly declared before turning his back on his brother and entering the room only to find that Tamara was already awake.
His heart clenched as he saw her crying.
He immediately sat beside her and held her in both hands.
“What happened? Are you okay? What the heck happened to her?!” He worriedly asked, but Tamara just couldn’t answer him, so he instantly stared at Elder Zeparu.
But the old salutary wolf just shook his head, and excused himself, and walked towards the door.
“I k-know who the t-traitor is…” She slowly stated after a short moment of silence.
She was even trying to stifle her own sobs easing the pain that was clenching her heart.
King Hades wanted to know who it was, but his worry was so great that he didn’t care anything at all but to make sure that she was okay.
“That is not the time for you to talk about it, Tamara. Please, you need to rest, wife.” He tried to reach her face and wipe away her tears, but Tamara held his hand and shook his head.
She swallowed hard before staring directly into her eyes.
“It… I-It was K-Kage.” She weakly declared as she firmly closed her eyes.
King Hades heard Elder Zeparu loudly took a deep exhale, but he didn’t care any less.
Because his attention was only on Tamara. He saw how hurt she was, just by saying those words. And he couldn’t stop himself but to feel an intensifying fury burning into his own skin like he wanted to kill someone because of what he did to his queen.
“H-He betrayed us, H-Hades. I c-couldn’t believe h-he betrayed m-me. He… He was w-with L-Leah.” Her eyes welled up once again as she cried her heart’s out.
He hugged her tightly as he tried to soothe her. He didn’t know what to do, but he just wanted to kill Kage for doing this to Tamara.
