Chapter 49
POV: Tamara Vikesh
The silence filled up the cold breeze as the owls kept on hooting in every tree. The fireflies were everywhere, giving further light to the forest where she needed to go.
The moment Tamara stepped out of the Lunar Pack Mansion the hunters growled a long and loud sound, as if giving her the respect and alerting their master of her presence.
She slowly walked down the stairs still fascinated by what was about to happen to her.
“Are you ready?” Her father, Lorenzo, seriously asked although she knew that he was as emotional as hers the moment she had stepped foot at the last pace of the stair and hugged him tight.
He was wearing a midnight blue tuxedo and his dark brown hair was gelled backwards. He looked so intimidating like the very first time she had seen him.
She just nodded her head as she broke the embrace. She didn’t want to talk for she knew that her tears were already taunting her eyes preparing itself to be free from her eyes’ grasp.
“Congratulations, darling.” Her mother, Rania, was looking at her lovingly.
She smiled at her sweetly and hugged her tight. She looked stunningly beautiful in her simple midnight blue sundress. Her hair twisted into a messy bun, and it had small crystals around the bun.
“I just hope that Shahara is here with us.” Rania gloomily whispered.
She felt her mother’s loneliness and grief for she also wished the same thing. She wanted Shahara to be with her. In fact, she wanted to thank her for she might be in this place right now, if not for Shahara. She felt her heart sink down as she pursed her lips together to stop her tears from falling.
“I am wishing for it, too Mom.” She emotionally stated as she couldn’t stop a lone tear that escaped into her eyes.
“Oh, darling, don’t cry. I am so sorry for being too emotional.” Rania apologetically said as she wiped her tears away.
“I’m sorry.” Tamara whispered, and her parents enveloped their arms tightly around her.
“We should move forward.” Lorenzo tried to stifle the emotions escaping into his face as they both stared at her after they let her calm herself.
Tamara simply nodded her head.
Of course, they must.
It’s been two weeks since they mourned for Shahara. They wouldn’t believe that she was dead, but their father the Alpha of their pack needed to proclaim her death.
She was trying to ignore the pain inside her, but she just couldn’t. Now, she must do her best to be proclaimed as the Luna Queen and fulfill her duties. She would make sure to bring justice to everyone that made her cry and for every pain that their enemies had caused her. She would make sure of that.
“Let’s go. I believe he is already waiting for you.” Lorenzo carefully told her as they guided her towards the forest.
“What if…” Tamara suddenly inquired, but she just couldn’t say it fully for it might ruin the ambiance around.
Lorenzo let out a deep sigh before staring directly at her eyes.
“If you are thinking about the other packs don’t worry because they didn’t know that this was the day.” Lorenzo knowingly replied at her.
“The packs were already in the Great Hall in the palace with Prince Raven. They thought this would be held there.” Rania enlightened her more.
Tamara couldn’t help but gasp in surprise as they continued walking towards the dark forest. She swallowed hard as she thought that this was finally it!
She let out a deep sigh.
The hunters as well as the sentinel wolves were around them.
Dillion and Shimuel were escorting them silently towards a particular a familiar and special place that she had requested.
Her heart started to thump so fast inside her chest as she felt her inner wolf being restless inside her. The sound of the crashing water down to where it belongs was becoming more and more clearer to her ears.
Tamara held her bouquet of white and blue roses tightly. Her princess-cut white dress that flows freely just above her knees was shining under the luminescence of the almost full moon. Her slip-on white sandals with crystals on it were crashing down the dried leaves breaking the serenity of the night.
Her wavy crimson red hair was tied into a half-braided bun letting the other half of it be carried by the soothing wind.
Tamara was trying to calm her excitement as well as the fast beating of her heart. Her inner wolf was too fidgety and thrilled for what was about to happen.
Until they saw the torches glistening magnificently a few more meters away from the enticing waterfalls, where she wanted to make this special moment to happen.
Her forehead creased as she only saw the important people around. Her parents, Benson, Elder Zeparu, Doc Dreyson, and Kage. Dillion and Shimuel… and Arlan with the hunters and sentinel wolves. She was puzzled as to the reason why, but everything just turned blurry for her the moment she laid her eyes on the man who was arrogantly standing a few meters away from her. He was becoming more defined under the lesser light from the torches and from the moon itself.
Her mind went haywire as she felt her breathing hitched. She just couldn’t leave him out of her sight. She didn’t care anymore who attended this special night for them to become one. She didn’t care as long as he was here they were here.
Tamara bit her lower lip as she gaped at the King who was wearing a black and gray tuxedo. The cloth used was glistening under the moonlight just like her gown.
She couldn’t help but smile at him. He was certainly gorgeous like the very first time he had taken her breath away.
His glorious gold crown was glimmering with the light that was surrounding them.
Tamara couldn’t ask for more. She wouldn’t asked for the rose petals scattered everywhere. She wouldn’t asked for a luxurious carriage or a long and expensive wedding gown. She wouldn’t asked for a red carpet or a chandelier under the great hall.
Because she felt contented with what was happening now. She loved the sound of the dried leaves breaking the silence instead of the rose petals. The natural aroma of the mist forest could cover the floral ones from the roses and other flowers in particular. Walking along the path towards the place was giving her more anticipation and her gown was just perfect for her.
Why would she choose a red carpet when everyone was holding a torch to light her way? And a chandelier wouldn’t compare to the moon gracing its own glory for this special night.
Yes, she was content. Marrying the King now under the moon was already a dream come true for her.
Her dark brown almond-shaped eyes turned into its lighter shade as she walked slowly towards the King who was patiently waiting for her near the waterfalls. The soothing sound from the flute resonated in the place. Arlan was playing it, but she was more amazed by the man clenching his jaw now. As to what the reason was, she didn’t know.
Tamara could never have thought that the simplicity and peculiarity of their wedding could be this meaningful to her. Because it wasn’t always the place, the things, or the dress that made it all worthwhile and meaningful. But it was the people involved.
It was whom she would be marrying. Under the moon the divine celestial witness that could make their wedding possible. The one who would bless them for eternity.
Tamara gave her a small shy smile at the King, the moment she stopped her tracks and stood in front of him.
King Hades held his big hand in front of her. Tamara swallowed hard to ease the nervousness that was building inside her.
When she held her hand on him, King Hades gently pulled her closer to him making her slightly gasp.
“You are so gorgeous, Tamara. And I can’t wait ’til this is all over.” King Hades seriously whispered, using his gruff and deep voice a tempting one making her stomach churn in exhilaration.
She blushed at his sweet words.
It’s true that King Hades wasn’t a fan of letting his emotions take over him, but she loved it whenever he let it go in front of her with little moments like this.
“The feeling is mutual.” She shyly whispered back as they stared at each other mirroring the intensity of their emotions through each other’s eyes.
King Hades stood up proudly.
“Let’s get this over with.” He seriously stated, and they faced the moon above while their hands were holding each other.
“I, King Hades Pierce, the King of All Wolf Borne, standing in front of the great moon goddess who blessed us with this life, vowed to cherish, protect, and dedicate my life to the only Luna Queen, Tamara Vikesh. I vowed to her that she would be my one and only better half, and that she would own all of me my body, heart, and soul until beyond eternity.” His words sent shivers to her spine creating a tickling sensation in the pit of her stomach and making her toes curl involuntarily.
Tamara was just so mesmerized by him right now. The seriousness and more on the sincerity and veracity in his voice had made her entire being flipped. She felt like she had fallen for him a little bit more.
She swallowed hard, for it was now her turn for her vow.
“I, Tamara Vikesh, standing in front of the great moon goddess who blessed us with this life, vowed to cherish, protect, and dedicate my life to the only King of All Wolf Borne, King Hades Pierce. I vowed to him that he would be my one and only better half, and that he would own all of me my body, heart, and soul until beyond eternity.” She softly stated as she felt his grip tighten a bit.
She bit her lower lip as Arlan went towards him to give him a small red velvet box. She slightly gasped the moment she saw the golden ring with small diamonds intricately embedded around it.
“Tamara, take this ring as a sign of my promise under the blessing of the moon the witness of our eternal vow and a proof of our endless bond together and always.” King Hades sincerely stated and wore her the golden ring.
It glistened under the moonlight, and it perfectly fit her ring finger. Tamara emotionally smiled at the King as she held the other one.
“Hades, take this ring as a sign of my promise under the blessing of the moon the witness of our eternal vow and a proof of our endless bond together and always.” She lovingly said as she wore him the ring.
King Hades stared at her with those soulful dark gray orbs reflecting on how affected he was with their faces getting closer to each other.
“Now, let us finally seal this eternal bond.” He seriously whispered but it came out as a seductive one in her ears.
Tamara’s breathing became uneven as the King held her waist and the other on the nook of her neck pulling her closer to him. And when he slowly moved his face towards her their lips met for a sweet and passionate kiss.
Everyone around them cheered and clapped their hands celebrating their very own eternal unity.
Finally, she could say that she was the King’s mate and that it had been sealed for eternity at this very moment.
Tamara moaned in pleasure as she reciprocated the intensity of the King’s ardent kisses. Until they were already gasping for air. King Hades leaned his forehead against hers. His eyes were closed, and his minty breath was fanning her face it was soothing… it was calming.
“Finally, you are mine.” He soulfully stated as he opened his eyes and she swallowed hard to see the burning intensity of emotions reflecting into his eyes.
Tamara smiled at him.
“Yes, I am yours, and you are mine, too.” She softly whispered, and the king enveloped his arms around her firm but gentle enough not to crash her inside.
