Chapter 43
POV: King Hades Pierce
“Am I late for the competition?”
He instantly stood up the moment he heard that enticing and familiar voice with his heart beating fast and hard inside his chest and awakening his inner wolf.
Her scent instantly filled his nose, and it was keeping his inner wolf at bay wanting to take over him. But he was more ecstatic to even let his animalistic side take over him.
Not now.
He wouldn’t let himself be consumed with the madness that was dripping inside his entire system from the very day that he saw her on that cliff.
He gasped as he saw her gracing the Great Hall with elegance and sophistication. He couldn’t believe this.
Did Raven find her?
But she was walking alone on that grand staircase.
And he didn’t care less anymore.
All that caught his attention was the woman wearing that stoic face, but her eyes glinted with a bit of wickedness and longing while staring at the entire place.
Tamara Davis was slowly walking towards where he was!
Her maroon empire-cut dress hugged her body perfectly each of her curves were in the right places. Her innocent and soft feature were enhanced by her simple, light make-up augmenting her natural beauty.
While her wavy crimson red hair was tied up into a braided curled plait showing the perfect hallow of her neck.
She was not wearing any jewelries except a pair of simple-cut ruby earrings.
Her dark brown almond-shaped eyes met his pitch-black orbs, and it was making him burn with unspeakable emotions thrilling his every vein and everything around them just turned into blurry vision.
He wouldn’t care about other things just her.
Tamara was walking so slowly making his pitch-black eyes turn into dark gray ones until he couldn’t stop himself but to move his feet towards her and meet her halfway.
He clenched his hands into both fists as he could smell faint blood around her his forehead creased because of sudden curiosity but her sweet smile instantly melted him and washed away his doubts and worries.
The moment she raised her hand into a handshake his eyes turned into a lighter shade of gray from his original pitch-black eyes.
Everyone was silent.
Everyone didn’t dare to break the serenity of the place although a sudden tension filled the air.
Everyone’s breathing was hitched like they didn’t want to miss anything that might happen.
But King Hades didn’t mind any of it by now. All of his attention was on the stunning woman he had wanted to claim since time immemorial.
Yes.
Tamara Davis.
Finally.
That was all that was running into his mind.
For the one that was meant to be would finally fall into its right places with the perfect time and perfect place no matter what.
He slowly held her hand to accept hers and the spark between the both of them intensified.
King Hades heard gasps and shocking reactions that were trying to stifle into the crowd, but he didn’t care for any of it at all.
He wanted everyone to see how this compatibility test meant which was given to their father since he met their mother.
Tamara’s eyes narrowed into thin slits as it turned into its lighter shade.
He silently groaned in frustration as he instantly pulled her closer to him for a warm embrace.
“And Miss Tamara Davis won the third test!” Arlan’s voice resonated from the stage, but all of his mind was clouded with the warmth of his mate.
But he felt her body suddenly tense making him break his hug and stare intently into her almond-shaped eyes.
She let out a fake smile making his forehead crease.
Then the faint blood that he had smelled a while ago intensified that was attacking his nose.
“What the heck was that?” His voice was deep and low laced with slight worry and annoyance.
Tamara bit her lower lip and that was the only time that he noticed how pale she was if it wasn’t for her make-up.
He instantly stared at his second in command with a hand signal.
Arlan, then, cleared his throat loudly before speaking.
“Let us now lend our ears to our dearest king the King of All Wolf Borne King Hades Pierce.” Arlan confidently stated making everyone’s eyes turn to them.
“Everyone, listen!” His voice suddenly thundered in the four corners of the hall making everyone keep their silence.
Of course.
No one would ever dare to contradict or defy the King.
“I declare the end of this competition. You all witnessed the results of the three rounds and without any doubt Tamara Davis won this whole competition fair and square.” He clenched his jaw as he felt Tamara lean against him on his side.
He knew that something was wrong with her, and he must act now and fast.
King Hades stared at the Dark Wood Pack with his most vicious and ruthless pitch-black eyes.
“Tamara Davis is my Luna Queen. I’ll send out the invites for our wedding soon.” He smirked at each and everyone of them as he saw Lamina’s furious eyes directed at him.
Cessair gritted his teeth while her daughter was sitting in one of the chairs, now with her swollen eyes, and staring at them with her eyes that were full of jealousy and fury as she bit her lower lip and looked away when she saw him staring at her.
And Aeron was pursing his lips as he stared at his brokenhearted sister and then at them especially to him blankly.
The tension between them intensified and everyone might have been sensing it now.
He didn’t care less, though.
King Hades had been waiting for this day to come, and he wouldn’t hold himself anymore just the inner wolf that was trying and wanting to make loose inside him.
He clenched his fist as he tried to calm himself.
He must.
And he needed to or else, all of his plans wouldn’t be a success.
He surely knew that something had been triggered now that Tamara was still alive.
But he wouldn’t let anything happen to her now.
Not in his watch anymore.
“If you have more things to say, just direct it to my second in command. Although I am sure that no one would ever dare.” His voice was menacing and merciless, with a hint of threat laced in his tone.
Everyone bit their tongue to never say a word because for sure, they never wanted to contest the King’s wrath.
“For now, I wanted to rest and talk to my soon-to-be wife.” His voice was deep and authoritative.
Before anyone could even open their mouth he immediately held Tamara’s waist and led her away from the Great Hall.
They walked with a straight stoic face ignoring the jealousy, grief, and bleakness from the eyes of the people around them.
But the moment, Tamara stepped foot out of the Great Hall and away from the eyes of everyone, she suddenly slowed down and faced him with her eyes that were full of pain.
She silently groaned in agony and was panting hard, and he felt a sudden pang of worry inside his chest.
“What is happening?” His deep voice commanded her.
But before she could even speak to him, she suddenly fainted but he was fast to catch her, so she wouldn’t fall down to the marbled floor.
“T-Tamara…” He shuddered at the thoughts that were lingering around his system.
And it intensified the moment he saw blood on his hand that was holding her back.
He gasped in horror as he instantly carried her in his strong arms with fears slowly consuming him.
The wolf inside him was restless and for the very first time, they both agreed on one thing. And that was to save the woman he wanted to be his own Luna Queen.
The only one that he had waited for.
The only woman that he had hoped for for time immemorial.
