Chapter 23
POV: Tamara Davis
Every minute that passed created an intensifying tension and anxiety for everyone in the room. Only Dillion was in the room together with the candidates.
Tamara’s fingers were fidgeting with too much nervousness.
Although, her mother taught her about the poem she must not feel comfortable, for what if it was just her own interpretation of the poem? What if it wasn’t the exact answer that they were looking for? What if she failed this round?
Everyone has their own meaning to every literature that depends on their point of view.
A loud creak of the open door resounded in the entire room, which made every one’s gaze move towards it.
Tamara’s heartbeat faster as she saw the King, the Were Elders’ Council, and Arlan enter the study room. Her hands turned cold as she clenched them firmly, and then unclenched them loosely again and again to ease her anxiousness.
Her gaze never left them until they sat in their designated seat.
She gently bit her lower lip when her eyes met the King’s making her swallow hard and churning her stomach with pure titillations.
“Thank you for waiting, ladies.” Arlan’s voice boomed throughout the entire place.
Tamara clenched the hem of her midnight blue halter dress as if her life depended on it. Her growing anxiety making her wolf restive and wanted to take over her.
“I have here the six chosen interpretations who passed this round. One of this certainly stood out all of us were very surprised and delighted.” Arlan declared as a tiny little genuine smile pasted his lips.
“When I call you, kindly step forward, for you pass the first round.” He added as his face turned serious.
“First on the line, Miss Leah Darkwood from the Dark Wood Pack of the Eastern Side.” Arlan announced the first candidate who would join the second round.
Darkwood?
Oh, yes!
Dark Wood Pack!
A lady with a menacing dark aura confidently stood up and walked towards the makeshift stage. A grave danger undoubtedly screams around her. She was wearing a black princess line dress. Her chocolate brown hair was tied into a messy bun. Her face was decorated with a dark contour of black eyeliner and mascara, and her lips with dark red lipstick.
She gave everyone a mocking smirk making Tamara’s blood boil as she pressed her lips together trying to keep her inner wolf at bay.
Elder Courdamus also had that same smirk as hers that Tamara gritted her teeth with deep annoyance and disgust.
Now, she understood why Shahara didn’t like the young woman, for, she also shared the same furious feelings towards her.
“Secondly, Miss Renata Gil from the Black Blood Pack from the Eastern Side.” Arlan proclaimed as the lady with light ash blonde hair stood up. Her face was innocent like a doll. She was wearing a fuchsia pink body-hugging sheath dress.
Elder Nord stood out proudly as he loudly clapped his hands his lips with a smug smirk.
Tamara let out a deep sigh two out of six she couldn’t believe how to fight those two from the Eastern Side. How much more if all of the candidates that will pass the first round were all an ally of the Dark Wood Pack?
Her plans will definitely burn into ashes.
“Third on the list, Miss Maia Landers from the Night Walker Pack of the Northern Side.”
A woman in a dark red bodycon dress with a plunging neckline stood up. Her curly Havana-brown hair bounces as she seductively walks towards the stage where the other candidates who passed were.
Every second that passed, Tamara’s chance of being in the top six candidates slowly crumbled down the floor. Her heart sluggishly stooped down, and she let out a deep sigh.
“Fourthly, Miss Amabella Carlen from the Moon Stone Pack of the Western Side.” Aralan announced as she held her gaze towards the girl with golden blonde hair. Her skin was tanned, and she’s a quietly toned and voluptuous woman. Her maroon wrap dress fits perfectly on her, emphasizing her hourglass-shaped body.
“You also made it, Miss Lindy Mindsor from the Midnight Pack of the Northern Side.” Arlan proclaimed.
A lady with long jet-black hair that reached until her hips stood up. She was fair that best matches her purple bouffant dress that touches above her knees. She was not wearing any make-up she was like a goddess in the woods that Tamara couldn’t help herself but be amazed.
Then, she realized, there was only one slot left. She let out a breathy sigh composing and trying to console herself, whatever the outcome would be.
“Finally… the last candidate but definitely not the least. The one who got the perfect answer to the given poem…” Arlan announced as a small smile escaped his lips.
Tamara held her breath with so much anticipation her cold hands were firmly turned into clenching fists.
“You are in the next round, Miss Tamara Davis!”
Tamara’s eyes bulged in shock as she covered her agape mouth with her cold hands. A deep silence filled the room.
Everyone’s eyes darted towards her making her glued to the floor.
“Miss Davis, please come forward.” Arlan met her eyes and encouraged her to collect herself and keep her tracks forward.
She gathered all her strength to stand up and walk in front of her trembling knees.
She couldn’t believe it!
She passed!
She was part of the top six!
She’ll make it to the second round!
Tamara bit her quivering lower lip and held her head high.
She wouldn’t give this moment to make her enemies see her weakness. She pasted a stoic and blank look into her face an intimidating aura surrounded her unconsciously.
“Miss Davis, we would like to ask how you found the perfect answer to the poem?” Arlan’s deep voice filled the entire room the moment she was on her cued place on the makeshift stage.
Tamara swallowed the lump in her throat before she finally found her voice and looked at the hanging chart near her.
Her raging fast heartbeat was calmer that time.
“A poem had its own way of conveying its meaning. For this one it had clues that will surely unlock the possible interpretation of the author who made it. This poem is a tricky yet remarkable one.”
Even she couldn’t comprehend as to why her voice turned suddenly deep and authoritative. Though, she didn’t give any more attention to the reason why. She needed to wear the massive confidence that lies within her for she wasn’t just anybody. She would prove to everyone that she was just a mere servant omega that she deserves to be part of the pack she was in… that she deserves justice for her parents’ death and for everything that happened to her.
Her eyes narrowed into thin slits as her head slightly tilted towards the hanging chart.
“As I read the entire poem it is important to note the possible details. The eighth line was the one we needed to interpret. For it says ~ Until beyond… what could it be? ~, which was connected to the ninth line ~ That she wanted to say, reciprocating love in reality? ~ The clue starts with the tenth to the twelfth line that says:
~ Thy complete word in every significant possession found ~
~ In every possible line. ~
~ In just one, two, three… just five. ~
The statement that is needed to complete and be interpreted is the thirteenth line that says: ~ Love is beyond what… what did you guess it would possibly be? ~.”
“The clues were found on the first, second, third and fifth lines in which we needed to find the words with the most significant possessions the lady had.” Tamara profoundly explained.
Everyone in the room was all ears in listening to her. No one dared to create any kind of noise.
“Which means: the apple from the first line; water from the second line; knitted entity from the third line; and a tea from the fifth line. Now, from there, I needed to dissect word by word to reveal the word.”
‘~ The last slice of an apple she had, ~’
“The apple is the clued possession; but which part of it reveals the part of the word? It is the ‘last slice’ which was interpreted as the last letter of the word the letter E.”
Tamara seriously looked at everyone who was intently listening to her explanation some were also nodding their heads while some were foreheads creased. She continued, though.
‘~ Falls to the depth of the final three drops of cold water. ~’
“The water is the clued possession; but which part should unveil the word? It is the ‘final three drops’ which was interpreted as the last three letters of the word the letters T, E, and R.”
Tamara continued and looked fixedly at the chart.
‘~ For the warm knitted entity the first one detached, the two that follow permitted; ~’
“In this part, the knitted entity is the clued possession, but what is the secret part? It is the ‘first one detached, the two that follow permitted’ meaning from the word knitted entity; the first letter K was removed; but the next two letters were part of the hidden word, which were the letter N, and I. The fourth line was just a transition towards the next clued possession.”
Tamara didn’t give any attention to how almost everyone started to blow out their minds on how the heck she found out the profound way of interpreting the poem their mouths slightly ajar by hearing her explanation.
‘~ For once again, she wanted a tea that was pronounced with clarity; ~
“This one is quite tricky as one of the clued possessions which is the tea. It wasn’t the same with the other clues, for it says that you needed to ‘pronounced the word with clarity’ not to get any letter or any part of the word. It means that when we extract how it is pronounced, we will come up with the word ‘ti’.”
Tamara let out a proud and intimidating smirk which she didn’t know where it came from.
“All in all we had the letter E, T, E, R, N, I, T, I which will be read as ‘ETERNITY’… Love is beyond ETERNITY.”
Tamara wrapped her explanation by shrugging her shoulders and looked at Arlan who was one of those people around them plastered their faces with shocked and amazed expressions.
Their eyes wide open and their mouths agape her shrewdness was to the next level!
The King’s loud and deep clearing of his throat resonated throughout the entire place making everyone snap out of their reverie and admiration towards her.
“Uhm, very well, then. That was the profound and shrewdest answer that made us certainly astonished.” Arlan exclaimed.
A loud clapping of hands resonated throughout the entire room, but Tamara’s eyes darted towards where the King was.
She saw a glimmering pure amazement and gratification from Kind Hades’ eyes which immediately changed into a blank and serious one as if she hadn’t seen it passed in his eyes a while ago.

POV: Leah Darkwood
Leah was biting her lower lip so hard to keep her raging wolf while looking at the woman who stole the limelight that was supposed-to be hers. She could already taste the blood from her lip for her forceful reaction. She let out her injured lower lip and clenched her jaw so hard her hands were firmly curled into a balled fist.
Tamara Davis.
So, you are Tyra Amaris, huh?
She couldn’t believe that what her mother was looking for was just under their noses.
She wanted to let out a cursed out loud, but she needed to contain herself. She wouldn’t want any bad impressions towards her.
No.
Not in front of everyone especially not in front of the King.
She looked at the lady with that midnight blue halter dress who was profoundly explaining her answer to everyone.
Every second was a deep torture to her. Her blood boiling with raging fury was plastered with her face as her eyes narrowed into thin slits.
If looks could kill, Tamara might have been dead.
Leah gritted her teeth as everyone in the room couldn’t hide their shocked expression and astonishment towards her.
She let out a small evil smirk.
Tamara Davis.
Whoever you are, I will definitely crush you down she thought as her eyes darted evilly towards the woman.
She wouldn’t let anyone steal the spotlight that was supposed to be hers.
She wouldn’t allow it.
Not today not tomorrow.
For the very moment, she started contemplating her most vicious plan of getting rid of Tamara Davis.
