Chapter 16
POV: Tamara Davis /Tyra Amaris
She was still at the Lunar Pack infirmary and was currently being checked by Doc Dreyson. Uncle Lorenzo and Aunt Rania suddenly appeared in her room with their concerned faces.
“She was fine now. She was healing fast, even though I hadn’t used any medicinal plants on her.” Doctor Dreyson informed them while he was arranging his stethoscope on his neck after using it to her.
“That was great news, Dreyson. Thank you.” Aunt Rania was so ecstatic for the good news.
The moment they entered her room she was really frantic and worried about her, making her remember her parents again. Tamara shook her head gently.
“Just to make sure, she needed to stay one more day so we could observe her.” Doc Dreyson simply suggested as he intently looked at them.
Tamara could sense something the way he looked at them, but she just shrugged it all off. Maybe she was just overly thinking.
“Whatever will make her gain strength and heal, we will comply.” Uncle Lorenzo plainly answered in a serious tone.
Tamara, once again, was left alone in the room, for her to have a good rest. They were all quite busy especially with the upcoming competition for the chosen ‘Regina’ whatsoever it was which she just accidentally heard about in their conversation a while ago before they bid her their goodbyes for the mean time.
They asked Beta Benson to accompany her in the room, but she instantly refused. She was better off alone. She wanted to be unaccompanied and think of her next moves and plans.
Besides, she could tolerate the earsplitting silence inside her room alone than having an awkward silence between her and Beta Benson.
Until now, she wasn’t having time to talk to him or apologize for her actions towards him during their first encounter at the forest.
Tamara let out a deep sigh and looked at her almost healed wound.
In a short while of staying in the Lunar Pack, she eventually noticed little changes that she had failed to give attention to for the past few weeks.
Her dark crimson red hair was slowly fading and turning into a blowout burgundy. Her curly hair was becoming wavy and bouncy. Her slim body was turning curvy and voluptuous thus, her hips became bigger, and her front became fuller. She guessed she would also get taller now as tall as Shahara.
One thing that hasn’t changed is her dark brown eyes. But Shahara told her that it could have a lighter and darker shade whenever her mood and emotions changed.
Once, she felt furious, lonely, fearful, lustful, or when they were changing into their wolf form, her dark brown eyes darkened. Meanwhile, if her dark brown eyes lightened, that meant her mate was just around the corner or when she had already held hands with him.
Her changes in her physical aspect were blowing her mind away, but her behavior and strength was another level. She was becoming uncontrol all of a sudden, and her wolf was restless just like what happened to her in the woods. Shahara told her that she was learning faster than the average wolf given that she had just got there. Her strength was on the higher level, too, that she left Shahara into the woods, where she was one of the fastest wolves in the Lunar Pack, but she had left her at that.
She didn’t know what was happening to her she was confused.
Tamara heaved a deep sigh.
“Hey!”
A loud voice resonated throughout the entire room, making her jump a bit due to her abrupt surprise.
Her mind was drifting away, so that she hadn’t noticed a pair of dark gray eyes who were silently watching over her.
“My goodness! What the heck!” She shockingly exclaimed as her jaw clenched in deep infuriation and her uninjured hand flew towards her chest.
“How did you get here?! Are you trying to stun me to death?!” Tamara irately yelled at him and at the same time, she was trying to compose her astounded self.
He just chuckled at her priceless reaction. Tamara’s forehead creased as she stared at Kage Esmeray.
Yes.
The man who just caught her by surprise was the naughty and mysterious Doctor Dreyson’s apprentice Kage Esmeray. His black eye was now gone as if he hadn’t experienced having one.
Tamara wanted to laugh out loud but held her lips so as not to it serves him right though, she thought.
He was still wearing his smug smile making her shot her left brow upwards. Like any other time, she saw him, she was still wearing informal attire. A plain gray V-neck t-shirt and rugged dark blue denim jeans and rubber shoes.
Maybe another black eye would complement his outfit because of annoying her.
She mentally smirked at that thought.
“What are you doing here? And why the hell are you here?” Tamara gallingly said as she rolled her eyes upwards not trying to conceal her annoyance towards him.
Kage’s lips curled upwards his signature conceited smile plastered on his lips once again making Tamara seem more irritated towards him.
“Look, I’m here to check on you, okay? But uhmmm, I guess it isn’t needed to. You are as good as knew, just wear a bandage for the mean time, so your injury wouldn’t get strain. But you can already be discharged tomorrow.” Kage joyously informed her as he looked at the chart in his left hand, then back to her.
Tamara heaved a deep sigh.
Thank goodness!
She was already bored to death, but she wasn’t in the place to unlock her whims.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” Tamara curiously asked, while she noticed his gaze didn’t leave her.
“Uh, nothing. Actually, uhm…” Kage was out of words and scratched the back of his neck.
His eyes averted hers and his cheeks turned a bit pale pink which was new to her.
Whoa! Kage Esmeray?
The naughty and arrogant person in the prison cell suddenly became speechless. And as if she was embarrassed at her.
He’s got to be kidding her!
“What do you want this time?” Tamara lazily leaned her back at the bed trying to calm her infuriating nerves as her brow still shot upwards.
“Well, I know we started at the wrong foot, but I just wanted to apologize.” Kage seriously told her as he looked directly into her eyes he looked sincere, though.
Tamara blinked her eyes a few times to make sure that she wasn’t dreaming.
“I know I’ve been so rude to you… and well, I’m really sorry.” Kage frankly said and let out an embarrassed chuckle.
A few seconds of silence embraced them both of them were waiting for each other to talk.
Tamara let out a deep sigh. She wanted to nag and shout at him, yes. She wanted to say ‘no’ but who was she not to accept his apology? He seemed sincere too.
“Fine. But don’t you ever try to annoy me again.” She dangerously warned him while intently looking at him.
This time, Kage let out an earnest and genuine smile and that was so contagious that it made her smile, too. His smile was so bright that she couldn’t help but give it back to him.
Tamara shook her head in disbelief. He surely had a way on how to make anyone accept his apology, huh?
“Great. By the way, I think let’s repeat our introductions. I’m Kage Esmeray, Dreyson’s apprentice. And uhm, friends?” He simply confirmed, as he raised his hand towards her for a handshake sealing their new bond of friendship.
Tamara unbelievably chuckled. She was surprised to see that Kage had this side of him.
Shahara was right. She thought.
“Ta-”
Tamara suddenly halted. She almost said her real name.
“Uh, Tyra. Tyra Amaris.” Tamara abruptly answered and received his hand for a handshake.
She mentally heaved a sigh.
That was close!
“And well, fine. We’re friends now, so, don’t try your tricks on me. Or else…” She joked as she let out a soft smile.
They both chuckled as they shook their hands together.
Little did they know, a broad shadow holding the doorknob outside the room and about to open the door was intently listening to their entire conversation. He gritted his teeth as he tried to control his baring canines his wolf was at bay as his dark aura covered his whole being.
Before, he could do something unnecessary, he stepped back and turned around. His lips were pressed together, holding his maddening temper. His both hands were clenched, that his knuckles were already turning pale white.
No one dared to speak to him, nor to block his way. All of the people moved aside and bowed their heads their knees wobbled for they sensed that he was completely livid.
“Your Maj-” The poor Arlan who tried to talk to him while he kept his tracks out of the infirmary, just stopped his sentence as he noticed his ferocity and outrage.
He loudly gnarled at him as if warning him to leave him alone.
Arlan went agape and with curious and confused eyes just watched the furious King as he stormed out of the infirmary to God knows where. His forehead creased as his gaze moved towards the infirmary and back to where the King had gone.
Then, he sighed and shrugged his shoulders because of pure confusion.

POV: Kage
After his friendly conversation with Tyra Amaris, Kage went directly to Dreyson’s office. He always went there, though. He didn’t want to stay in his own office it was making him bored, being alone.
“So how was Tyra?” Dreyson immediately asked him the moment he entered his office.
“It was good. She was fine. But do I really need to do this?” He uninterestedly answered and plopped down on the couch in the corner of the room.
“The Vikesh requested this one. You needed to train her and guard her. You knew how important she was.” Dreyson gave him a knowing look.
“What do you mean by that? She was just a servant Omega?” Kage confusedly asked.
“Haven’t they told you? Anything?” The good doctor creased his forehead as if he was trying to decipher whether he was saying the truth or not.
“All I knew was, she needed to be guarded and trained. Nothing more. They didn’t give me a chance to ask. So, what are you saying now?” Kage was now more curious.
Who was Tyra Amaris, then?
She looked like just an ordinary girl to him.
“She will be representing our pack at the upcoming competition.” Dreyson seriously revealed.
Kage’s mouth was ajar because he couldn’t believe what he had just heard.
Unbelievable! How was that possible?
“You got to be kidding me?” He incredulously said.
“I guess, I’m not.” The doctor just shrugged his shoulders and his gaze moved towards the charts in front of him.
“How was that possible?” Kage said his questions in his mind out loud.
“The Vikesh didn’t disclose anything about it. Even my grandfather didn’t say anything.” Dreyson simply answered.
How would that girl be a representative of the pack?
Why wouldn’t it be Shahara?
That girl was just a servant Omega.
A nobody who just popped up out of nowhere.
So why?

POV: Someone in the Woods
At that very same moment, someone in the dark woods was creepily looking at the crimson red-haired woman who was slowly and visibly changing physically. His eyes sparkled and his elongated claws dug deep into the trunk of the huge tree. He bit his lower lip and sniffed the air an unfathomable desire engulfing his whole being. His lips curled upwards as he brushed his tongue on his lips.
His canines slowly bared as his wolf was at bay his pure lust consuming his entire humanity.
“I’ll make sure, you will soon end up with me, my dearest sweetheart.”
He declared as a fiend smile appeared on his lips.
“No one will have you. Not even the King.” He seriously declared, before finally being embraced by the darkness of the woods.
