Chapter 12
POV: Lamina Darkwood
“Is this all that you find?” Luna Lamina annoyingly asked Gorgo the Dark Wood Pack’s Beta who couldn’t look straight at her and just bowed his head.
She furiously stared at the picture of a baby girl and a golden crest necklace placed on her table.
“Yes, Luna Lamina. Winston and Ameia Davis were indeed ingenious and shrewd. They hide Tamara’s whereabouts profoundly. Even her scent was unrecognizable, and I didn’t know how they did that.” Gorgo nervously explained.
Luna Lamina could smell his frustrations, making her grit her teeth in deep annoyance her inner wolf was at bay.
“That wasn’t good enough, Gorgo. I want you to find her and fast or else, you know what the hell will happen to you.” She ferociously warned him.
Gorgo swallowed roughly as his legs shook because of fear.
“I understand Luna Lamina.” He abruptly answered full of dismay to himself.
“Get out.” Luna Lamina said dismissively making Gorgo move immediately out of the room as she intently looked at the picture held by her hand.
“I will soon find you, and I will kill you myself.” She brutally said as the side of the photograph crumpled a bit because of her tight holding.
Her face was laced with raging fury and ferocity.
She would make sure her plans wouldn’t be ruined just because of Tamara Davis.

POV: Tamara Davis / Tyra Amaris
Meanwhile, Shahara told her that they would be visiting the Lunar Pack Infirmary today so here they were and walking along the pathway that led there. They didn’t use the car, as they both agreed to enjoy the soothing and lovely ambiance and surroundings.
All the members of the packs were living near Lunar Mansion which was a few blocks away. According to her, the Lunar Pack was humbly the leading pack on the western side.
Tamara or she should train herself to be called Tyra now was so excited about the visit. Shahara also explained to her that she needed to pretend to be her personal servant Omega or the lowest ranked wolf to conceal her real identity for the meantime.
She knew and accepted it so she wouldn’t be found by the ones who were running after her and killed her parents.
“As you already know, werewolves had a hierarchical caste. Each of the werewolves had packs or were known as a ‘community’ in where you came from. Unfortunately, if you don’t have any pack or you were kicked out of your pack, you become a rogue a no-pack involvement wolf. They are commonly found in the Southern part. Most of the rogues now were dangerous or worst, deadly, and I know you already knew that.” Shahara thoroughly explained to her as they walked through the concrete pathway.
Tamara clenched her fist as she remembered her parents during that tragic night making her knuckles pale white, then she bit her lower lip to control both her rising emotions and her agitated inner wolf.
Shahara abruptly noticed her reaction and that she immediately continued.
“Each pack had a leader the male leader was called ‘Alpha’ and his wife or the female leader was called ‘Luna.’ Like for example, the Lunar Pack, where we are part of. As you know, they hold the decision making and have the responsibility of protecting the whole pack.”
Tamara listened intently at her now a little calmer while nodding her head.
“Next are the sons and the daughters of Alpha and Luna where I am part of. Then, the Beta or the second in command of the Alpha or Luna. They were the ones who led the pack when Alpha or Luna was away. Or they will be tasked with assisting the son or daughter of the leaders.”
“Who was the Beta of our pack?” Tamara curiously inquired.
Shahara’s forehead creased, and she chuckled.
“Oh, I forgot to tell you. It was Benson. He was the Lunar Pack’s Beta.” She simply said and smiled at her shocked reaction.
Tamara’s eyes widened in surprise and couldn’t believe that it was Benson. Maybe she should apologize to him for her rude actions before yes, she should once they get back to the mansion.
What the heck, Tamara. She mentally thought.
She didn’t even know and apologized for her past behavior. Her cheeks turned pale pink because of sudden embarrassment.
“Aside from the Beta, the Elder Wolf also plays an important role in the pack. They are the oldest among the pack members who gives advice and is highly respected. They express maturity that their thoughts and opinions are highly considered during discussion or even in decision making. Some of the other packs elders are just too greedy of wealth and power that instead of being a role model for a peaceful living, they serve as immoral models, instead.” Shahara grimaced as she said those pressing words.
Tamara’s forehead creased as she looked at Shahara but didn’t comment on that for she could see fury blazing in her eyes.
“But here in our pack, we have the best elder, who show the importance of living with peace, contentment, and love. He was Elder Zeparu whom you will meet in the infirmary later. He loves to help the salutary wolves.” Shahara’s reaction immediately enlivens by mentioning the Lunar Pack Were Elder making Tamara ecstatic in meeting him, too.
“Then, the Sentinel wolves, or the ones who were trained and tasked to guard and protect the pack’s territory. The Hunter Wolf, on the other hand, were exceptionally skilled wolves at hunting down prey for our food. And then, the salutary wolves, which were also called as the herbal wolves, are the ones who treated the injured wolves. You already know that we have a fast-healing process well, that is, if we have a strong inner wolf. Sadly, if we have encountered critical situations and need immediate intervention to heal, the salutary wolf was the one to be called upon.”
Time flies fast that they didn’t even feel that they were already in front of the Infirmary Building painted in white with a light gray lining at its corners which looks like a normal hospital for Tamara.
“Doctor Dreyson Heist was the lead salutary wolf and his apprentice and soon to be a certified salutary wolf Kage Esmeray are the best here. Of course, with the help of Elder Zeparu their mentor. By the way, Doctor Dreyson is also Elder Zeparu’s grandson.” Shahara excitedly opened the sliding door and the nurses greeted her while bowing their heads.
Shahara just gave a small smile and passed at them maintaining her friendliness yet authoritative aura. Tamara awkwardly bowed her head for the curious look they gave her and hesitatingly followed behind Shahara.
They entered an office-like room all painted with plain white.
“Doc Dreyson!” Shahara was so excited that she immediately went to the doctor and hugged him tight she hadn’t even noticed the other man in the room.
Tamara just embarrassingly stuck on where she stood the closed door was behind her. She didn’t know what to do or how to react.
The doctor was smiling from ear to ear and returned Shahara’s tight hug. He was wearing a white polo shirt and black slack pants matched with black leather shoes. Well, she could say that he was a typical doctor next door who was quietly neat and gorgeous type.
His blonde hair was neatly done matching his dark forest green eyes. He had a pointed nose and naturally pink lips. He was tall and fair, too. He wears a friendly smile making him more attractive but not in a romantic way on her, though just a friendly attraction.
A loud and almost livid clearing of throat from someone standing on the doctor’s left side interrupted them all making Shahara jump a bit and instantly lose her tight embrace to the doctor.
Her eyes widened in shock and her lips ajar a slight fear and longingness crossed her eyes the moment her eyes dropped to the man furiously clenching his jaw.
Tamara saw how dark the aura the man had and was furiously looking at them. His lips pursed tightly, and his eyes turned pitch black.
The immense tension engulfed the air between the four of them making it hard for Tamara to exhale her breath.
“R-raven,” Shahara lowly said almost above whisper but enough for them to hear.
The man gritted his teeth and forcibly dragged Shahara’s arms.
Tamara was so shocked and agitatedly stepped aside to give them space towards the door as they went out of the room.
She was left there, standing with her mouth agape.
Who was that man? And why did she drag Shahara?
Those questions were still popping into her mind when she heard the doctor speak.
“Pwew! That was intense.” Doctor Dreyson sighed breathily and broke the deafening silence that immersed between them.
Tamara’s eyes flew to the doctor, who was smiling at her he seemed approachable, though. She gave him an embarrassing look for she didn’t know how to act in front of him.
“Shahara didn’t change at all. She was just so friendly to the ones dear to her.” The doctor gladly commented and shook his head gently a smile still plastered on his lips.
“Uhmm,” Tamara was left for words.
She was still shocked on what to do whether she would stay or just follow Shahara, wherever she was.
“You were Tyra Amaris, right?” Doctor Dreyson asked her in his friendly tone making her calm a little bit but still felt awkward.
Tamara gawkily nodded.
“Please take a sit. Alpha Lorenzo and Luna Rania talked a lot about you. Even Shahara.” He cheekily told her and sit in his chair behind his table while motioning her to sat on the bench on the side where the man named Raven, according to what Shahara called him, sat a while ago.
Tamara just scratched her nape in embarrassment and slowly sat on the bench.
“I hope it’s about the good things in me.” She smiled shyly.
“Of course, they were so fond of you.” He instantly replied.
The doctor was so welcoming and nice she could feel the lightened aura from him. As if she forgot her problems and sadness while talking to him.
She was becoming calmer every minute that passed that they were talking. Shahara was right, he was indeed outgoing and amicable.
“Dreyson, here are the files that you asked me to find.”
A tall man interrupted them as he suddenly opened the office door and directly went in front of the doctor’s table. Doc Dreyson wasn’t surprised about the man’s behavior maybe he was already accustomed to it.
Tamara’s brows furrowed while looking at the back of the man who was relatively familiar to her, she just couldn’t pinpoint where and when because all she could see now was his toned back.
Her head tilted sideways as she tried to fully see his face, but to no avail she could just see his ears and his long jet-black hair tied into a topknot.
He had a toned body and tanned skin. He was wearing a white long sleeveless shirt that was folded just until his elbows. He paired it with dark blue denim pants and a white slip-on sneaker.
If he was a doctor, it was quite odd for him to wear something as informal as that. Tamara mentally told herself. She just shrugged it off and looked at the hanging paintings around to make herself busy.
“Great. By the way, Kage, this is Tyra Amaris, the one Alpha Lorenzo and Luna Rania are talking about.”
Tamara heard Doctor Dreyson so she immediately stood up and pasted a real sweet smile on her face to meet whoever the man was.
“Tyra, this is my student and soon to be certified salutary wolf, Doctor Kage Esmeray.” Doc Dreyson introduced them to each other with his voice laced with pure gratification.
“Oh, come on, just skip those formalities, call me Kage.” The man jokingly said, and finally faced her.
“You!” Tamara exclaimed with her lips pursed and her brows furrowed because of her unfathomable annoyance.
“Oh! Hey, you’re the pup in the prison.” The man named Kage said naughtily, wearing his smug smile making Tamara grit her teeth with irritation.
And before she knew it, she punched the hella guy’s face as hard as she could!
