Chapter 8
POV: Aeron Darkwood
They were in the living room of the Dark Wood Pack Mansion and the tension was floating in the air was nearly suffocating him.
His head was low while he was fidgeting because of too much fear and disappointment to himself.
A loud crashing of a black antique ceramic vase reverberated throughout the entire room.
Aeron’s eyes shut tightly as his heart speeded up. He bit his lower lip to keep himself from flinching.
The ruthless and cunning Luna of the Dark Wood Pack which was also his mother Lamina Darkwood, was so mad for what happened in the prisoner’s trial that she almost turned red due to her maddening fury.
She was walking back in forth in front of them and he could feel that she was so close to shifting into her wolf form but he hopefully not.
“What the heck happened, Aeron?! You are at a barn? For what? I entrusted you with the mission to find and kill Winston and Ameia’s daughter, right? Yet you failed to do it and now, you added this kind of freaking humiliation into our pack! What the heck is wrong with you?!” Luna Lamina’s loud and vicious voice resonated.
The Luna brushed her light ash blonde hair with her fingers due to her raging wrath. Hey grey eyes turned in to its darker shade as she was furiously staring at him.
It was undoubtedly a nightmare to him whenever his mother was in this kind of state.
He just kept his head low for he could stand the distress and anger emerging from her mother’s eyes.
Luna Lamina snarled loudly as she tried to contain her inner wolf.
He was quietly hoping that his father the Alpha of the Dark Wood Pack Cessair Darkwood, would stop his mom but to no avail.
He was leaning comfortably on the black and gray barrelback sofa while his legs crossed. His black rounded neck shirt was embracing his stocky body flexing his toned biceps involuntarily.
His right elbow was positioned in the armrest while his fingers were playing with his plump lips.
No emotions were written on his face nor didn’t even show any kind of fear.
His deep blue rounded eyes were coldly staring blankly at them.
Alpha Cessair just heaved a deep sigh and disappointedly shook his head while looking at them.
Aeron’s heart sunken and he heartbrokenly bows his head down lower than before.
“Mom, I think it wasn’t all Aeron’s fault. That Tyra woman whoever she is made this mess. Curse her! And whoever the heck beats you?! They need to pay!” Leah Darkwood his elder sister exclaimed while crossing her legs and her arms in front of her chest.
She was raising her brow in deep annoyance while her grey rounded eyes were into thin slits showing an immense intimidating aura around her.
His father cleared his throat getting everyone’s attention and every one of them kept their silence and looked at him.
“Let’s end this tension between us right now. It wouldn’t help any of us. Lamina, my dear, just stay calm. Don’t worry, we will get back at them. Most especially now that the King approved the competition for the next Regina.” His normally cold voice resounded throughout the entire room making everyone stopped on their intensifying commentaries.
His mother heaved a deep and they exchanged a knowing look. His eyes darted to where her mother was. She was now sitting beside their father and a vicious small smile escaped from her lips, but she was trying to refrain it from showing.
Typical attitude of the Luna of the Dark Wood Pack.
“And for those b*stars that dared to lay their hands on you, they are already in the dungeon. You already know what to do.” His father said while glancing at him with his stoic face.
Aeron clenched his both hands tightly making his knuckles turned pale white due to mixed anger and embarrassment.
“And Aeron…” Alpha Cessair coldly called him with his gritting teeth.
“Y-yes, father?” He fearfully uttered as he raised his eyes to meet his father’s and didn’t want to anger him.
“I don’t want anything like this to happen again.” He emotionlessly warned him that Aeron could feel their intense gaze towards him, making him tremble in so much anxiety.
“Y-yes, father.” He stutteringly answered as his gaze fell down and stuck on the floor.
“Tsk! Let’s go.” Leah maddeningly ordered him as she gritted her teeth with irritation and started to walk ahead.
Aeron hesitatingly followed her. He clenched his fist making his knuckles almost turned pale as they walked towards the dungeon located in the deepest and darkest part of the mansion the secret basement.
This was all his fault.
He was totally disappointed with himself.
He felt worthless… again the one he was well-known for.
The great and wicked Lamina’s coward son.
A useless and weakling wolf of the exceptional Dark Wood Pack of the East.
Everyone pitied and disrespected him.
He was being the talk of the town whenever he was outside the mansion and worst, they even bullied him most especially when he was alone.
He was tall but quite slim and had almost paper white skin. He had these deep blue rounded eyes just like his father, but he didn’t inherit the Alpha’s intense stare.
He admitted that he wasn’t blessed with great strength he held authority and power because of being the son of the Luna and Alpha of the ruthless and leading pack of the east.
He was even overshadowed by his older sister Leah who was a great fighter and had a strong personality. She was an independent and fierce woman just like their parents.
He was already accustomed to it, though. But it would be a different case when it affected his family more when they got mad at him.
He would not forgive those who dare cross that part of him.
But how could he had stopped them from doing so.
He was a weak and coward person.
He silently clenched his teeth as he felt his wolf at bay.
“Leah, you think, it is better if I wasn’t born at all.” He lowly asked almost breathless making Leah halt walking.
She instantly faced him with eyes narrowed into thin slits, but his head remained low. He knew that she was now on the verge of losing her patience from what she had heard him say.
Aeron pitied himself more depressing thoughts linger through him.
He wanted to ignore it, but he couldn’t it was as if eating him up little by little.
“Stop talking like that, Aeron. You knew that mother and father loved and cared for you. I care for you, okay?” Leah said, emphasizing every single word for she wanted to erase whatever negative thoughts he had in his mind.
He took his glance away from her his hands clenched more but didn’t say a word.
Besides, she looked like he was staring at his own mother’s eyes whenever she wore that expression. Her grey eyes were accentuated her entire face making him intimidated a bit by her.
“Look, they just wanted you to do your best and you’re already doing it. You may not be as strong as I am in terms of physical strength, yes. But remember that you are great as a salutary. You discover and conceive things and use them to your advantage. You’ve been the greatest weapon of this pack with your inventions. Don’t forget about that, Aeron.” Leah proudly explained at him and gave him a knowing look.
Aeron heaved a deep sigh.
His sister never failed to make him feel at peace and boost his confidence.
“Stop thinking that way and let us move on. I will give those bullies of yours an unforgettable lesson they will never forget.” Leah smiled viciously and turned around to continue walking down the stairs.
Leah could be cunning and vicious if she wanted to and no one could ever stop her from doing what she wanted to do.
Even though to their own pack members as long as they committed something hideous and against them.
Aeron languorously followed her.
Three men were present in the room when they got there. Their wrists were tied with chains upwards they were badly beaten that they couldn’t be recognized anymore. Blood splattered to the cold floor from the whipped they received.
Aeron shook his head. Their father already took an action towards these guys. He could be this protective towards them if he wanted to.
“Dad already beat them into pulp.” Aeron clearly commented.
“Yeah. Sounds like he did. Too bad I cannot play with them. They were too weak and gross.” Leah grimaced just by looking at them.
“Maybe Dad wanted me to test my new inventions with them instead.” He flatly said, facing the three men in front of them.
“Alright, then.” Leah just shrugged at his side and crossed her arms.
Aeron’s lips curled upwards mocking the men in front of him.
He went to the darker part of the room where his inventions were placed and got the one glittering light blue liquid inside the sealed tube.
“What is that this time?” Leah boringly asked while checking her purple painted nails.
Aeron mischievously smiled.
This was him his hidden side. He was as merciless as his parents and a part of him that branded as a Dark Wood Pack elite member.
“My new invention, the Dream of Death.” He icily told Leah as he put it in the syringe and went near the three men.
“P-please…” He heard one of them pleadingly said, making Aeron tremble now in excitement.
He really wanted to hear pleas from people before giving them his inventions it was making his flesh and blood very satisfied.
Aeron didn’t respond and let his tongues brush his lower lip, then instantly injected the syringe.
The man just froze in place his eyes turning white. Aeron moved on to the next two and did the same.
“Let’s go.” He immediately told Leah as he moved towards the door after injecting the three.
“Don’t go inside.” He coldly warned the guard on duty who just bowed his head towards them.
“What was that?” Leah repeatedly inquired while raising her brows while walking to his side.
Aeron smirked evilly.
“It will make you hallucinate like you were already dying until it triggers your wolf form. If his heart speeds up and gets ready to shift…” He stopped as they heard a loud agonizing scream followed by a flashy boom sound, as if something or someone, to be exact had burst.
“He will explode.” Aeron evilly added and shrugged.
“Eww, that was gross. You should have said it earlier. I don’t want to be covered with flesh and blood that aren’t freshly killed by myself.” Leah grimaced.
He walked languidly with a delighted smirk on his lips.

POV: Lamina Darkwood
At the same time when Lamina and Cessair was on their room.
“We need to execute our plan and it should be fast, dear.” She wickedly told her husband, who was currently sprawled in bed facing it while she was gently massaging his shoulders.
“Just do what you want to do, dear. I trust your decisions.” Cessair hoarsely answered as he closed his eyes and was engulfed to darkness.
He was too tired and a massage from his wife made him sleepy.
Lamina narrowed her eyes into thin slits, and the grey shade of them turned darker almost black.
A cruel smile escaped her lips.
Finally, her plans were falling into place.

POV: Someone
Under the dark gleaming light of the moon, someone was wickedly looking at one of his loyal subordinates for the new information that he had asked him.
“Are you certain that he was the one inventing those prohibited medications?” A deep low voice asked the trusted man whose head was bowing at him.
“Yes master. I already located his whereabouts, and you were right.” He respectfully answered.
“Very well, then, gather the evidence and leave everything to me.” He coldly said dismissing the man who immediately followed and went out of the room.
He turned around and faced the huge glass window.
“You have already heard it all. I believe our plans are already making progress.” He mischievously said to the man standing behind the shadows the golden crest in his head gleamed as the moon light radiated at it.
He really could hide himself accurately that he’s the only one who could pinpoint where he was.
“Let us do our next plan, then.” A ruthless voice from the shadows ordered as he stepped out of the darkness with an ominous smirk plastered on his lips.
