Yayoi asked Morphy for help so that she could visit her parents again.
But, she had not expected to meet Eduard Xiang there.
She was led by the prison guards into the visiting room. He happened to be walking out towards her.
When she saw him again, her first reaction was to stop and stare blankly at him as he slowly approached.
“Brother Qingyu,” she called out softly as he brushed past her.
His footsteps became hesitant for a moment, but he did not stop. Instead, he continued walking.
She looked back at his tall, upright figure, with a sorrowful look in her eyes.
He was clearly Brother Qingyu, but why was he not acknowledging her?
However…
She stared at the visiting room. Had he come to visit her parents?
When she thought of this, she immediately picked up the pace and walked towards the visiting room.
The first thing Old Mr. Seneca said to her was, “Qingyu just came to see me.”
Her suspicion had turned out to be true. She could not quite accept it.
She laughed in a low voice. “Dad, he came to visit you?”
Old Mr. Seneca thought she did not believe him, so he quickly added, “Yes. He just left.”
Then, he sensed something was wrong. “No, he just left, so you two should have met.”
They had met each other, but he had simply ignored her. He was no longer the same Brother Qingyu who used to dote on her.
She took a deep breath. “Dad, I didn’t see him. He must have walked in the other direction.”
“What a pity.” Old Mr. Seneca felt a little regretful about this. “You two were such good friends. If only the two of you could meet again.”
“Dad, we will in the future.” Yayoi did not want to talk about Luo Qingyu with her father anymore, so she changed the subject. “Dad, how have you been recently?”
For the rest of the visit, she talked with Old Mr. About the Yang family’s corruption case. She did not bring up Luo Qingyu again.
After her short visiting time was over, Yayoi walked out of the visiting room to the prison gate.
She saw a familiar figure leaning against a car parked by the side of the road. She stopped and squinted, gazing over.
It was Luo Qingyu.
She did not dare think he was waiting for her, so she turned and went in the direction of her own car.
Just when she was about to open the door, a hand reached out from behind and pushed it shut again.
A familiar odor came from behind Yayoi. Her back stiffened and her eyes landed on the hand on the car door. It was long and shapely, with prominent finger joints. It had a faint scar between the thumb and the index finger.
A scar.
She pursed her lips. It was a scar cut by a knife.
She had made this scar using a knife.
“Yayoi.”
When she heard this familiar voice, her nose could not stop tingling. Tears almost gushed out from her eyes.
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before turning around. Her rather cold eyes landed on his handsome, familiar face. She curled her lips into a smile. “Mr. Xiang, I don’t think you know me well enough to call me by my given name.”
Eduard Xiang stared at her, a faint smile hovering in his eyes. She was still as sharp-tongued as before.
Eduard Xiang retracted his hand and put it into his pocket. He smiled somewhat. “It’s true that you don’t really know Eduard Xiang, but you must have known Luo Qingyu quite well.”
Yayoi frowned slightly. He had always denied that he was Luo Qingyu. So, why was he bringing up Luo Qingyu now? What did he mean by this?
Noticing her doubt, Eduard Xiang raised his eyebrows. “Yayoi, would you believe me if I said I have my difficulties?”
Yayoi stared calmly at him. “Tell me what your difficulties are.”
Eduard Xiang smiled apologetically. “I’m sorry, Yayoi, I can’t let you know.”
Yayoi started, then chuckled softly. Her eyes were full of derision. “How can I believe you if you won’t tell me your difficulties?”
“I will definitely tell you in the future.”
