Xu Halle watched their interaction, her eyes gloomy. She stood up and said quietly, “I’m tired. I’m going back to my room to rest.”
When she heard her, Corey asked instinctively, “Do you need me to help?”
“Corey!” cried Ying Xiaoxiao in a low voice.
“What’s wrong?” Corey’s face looked dazed.
“It’ll be better for me to help. It’s not appropriate for a man like you to go into a woman’s bedroom.”
Ying Xiaoxiao threw him an angry glance before walking over and reaching out to support Xu Halle. Quite unexpectedly, Xu Halle dodged her.
Ying Xiaoxiao frowned, her hands freezing in the air.
Xu Halle realized that she had gone a little too far. She quickly forced a smile and explained, “Xiaoxiao, go back with Brother Corey. I can manage things by myself.”
Ying Xiaoxiao looked at her quietly. If she was not mistaken, she had clearly seen a flicker of resentment in her eyes.
“Does Xu Halle hate me?”
Ying Xiaoxiao bit her lip lightly as she swept her gaze over Corey. She could more or less guess what was happening.
So she grinned brightly. “Alright, I’ll go back with Corey. Call me if you need anything.”
As soon as her voice faded, she turned and walked before Corey, squinting her eyes. There was a fierce, imperious look in her eyes. “Corey, let’s go first.”
“But…” Corey was worried about Xu Halle being alone.
Ying Xiaoxiao did not even give him a chance to hesitate. She directly grabbed his hand and walked him to the door.
“Ying Xiaoxiao, what are you doing?” Corey wrenched his hand free, a look of displeasure on his face.
Ying Xiaoxiao turned back. Her gaze landed on Xu Halle, who was near them. A flicker of light flashed across her eyes.
She spun around and stepped forward, grabbing his necktie and tugging at it, making him lean forward and come to her.
She kissed him on his lips.
Corey’s pupils dilated, reflecting the smile on her pretty face.
She stepped back, glancing at that tall and slender figure from the corners of her eyes. She smiled brightly and charmingly.
“I’m taking my boyfriend home.”
Her voice was neither loud nor soft. The other two could hear her clearly.
Corey had not expected her to kiss him so suddenly. He was so stunned that he allowed himself to be dragged away,
Ying Xiaoxiao opened the door and shoved him out, then she turned back her head at look at Xu Halle still in the room. The corners of her mouth lifted. “Halle, you must really hate third parties who come between a couple. I hope you won’t be one of them.”
After that, she went out, closing the door gently.
The room lapsed into a deathly silence. Xu Halle looked at the shut door, her eyes gloomy and downcast. Her slightly pale lips were tightly closed.
Outside the door, Ying Xiaoxiao and Corey glared at each other. The atmosphere became tense for some time.
Finally, Corey let out a helpless sigh. “Take it that I’ve lost to you.”
There seemed to be a helpless affection in his voice.
Ying Xiaoxiao pursed her lips and smiled. She raised her hand and patted him on the shoulder. “Hey, petty guy, I’m the one who’s helping you, alright? What would people say if they knew that you had stayed the night with a single woman?”
Corey shot her a cold glance, then he walked to the door.
The moment he opened it, Ying Xiaoxiao dashed out.
“I’m staying here tonight.”
Corey saw that she was treating this house as her own. She had opened the shoe cabinet and changed into a pair of slippers, then she ran into the house.
He smiled helplessly. Who had just said it was not nice for a man to spend a night with a single woman?
