Ivy’s heart gave a lurch as she heard Kayden’s words. What did he mean? Was he truly so determined to save her? Sure, she acknowledged that she had a pretty face, but risking his life for her seemed too much!
“Alright, come at me all at once. Don’t waste my time!” Kayden stepped forward and said in a cold and indifferent tone.
“Damn it!” The scar-faced man couldn’t tolerate Kayden’s blatant contempt for them. He charged forward with his machete, swinging it down toward Kayden without a hint of hesitation. While Kayden stood there unmoved as if paralyzed by fear.
Many around them squeezed their eyes shut in terror, some even letting out shrill screams.
A loud clang sounded. Just as the machete was about to cleave down onto his head, Kayden calmly raised his hand to catch it. He gripped the machete firmly, but to everyone’s shock, his palm remained unscathed as if it were made of iron and impervious to the blade. Then, in a flash like lightning, his hand sliced across the scar-faced man’s throat.
In the blink of an eye, a horrifying scene happened before everyone’s eyes! The scar-faced man dropped to the ground, eyes wide and pupils dilating. His hands flailed wildly, like a crazed animal.
His struggles didn’t last for a long time. Moments later, crimson liquid gushed from his throat, splattering out like a raging fountain.
Just moments ago, a sharp blade had sliced through his throat. The speed was so blindingly fast that if it hadn’t happened to him, the scar-faced man wouldn’t have even realized he’d been cut.
He instinctively raised his hand to grasp his throat, but the blood kept gushing forth uncontrollably and soaked his fingers. The crimson torrent surged, and quickly covered his entire face with a mask of blood.
The little girl erupted into a piercing wail, intensifying the already electric tension in the air.
Fear started to clutch the heart of the scar-faced man. His pupils dilated as he lost his last shred of awareness. In an instant, he crumpled to the ground. During the whole process, he never managed to utter a single moan.
He was dead! Blood pooled around him, and watching this grotesque scene made everyone’s stomach churn!
“Ah!” A woman on the bus suddenly screamed, “He killed this man! He killed him!”
She screamed and leapt up like a psycho. Her screams detonated like a bomb in the crowd, sending shock waves of panic rippling through everyone! The reality of murder was too much for them to bear, and the horrific image of blood spraying from a throat made their skin crawl.
Ivy felt a shudder run through her. A murder had truly occurred. Kayden killed this man, for her. She looked at Kayden with a swirl of conflicting emotions in her eyes. At this moment, she didn’t know how to confront this man.
Shock rooted the bald man to the spot. He could hardly believe that someone would dare to take a life right before so many people’s eyes. He had been leading this gang for years, and this was the first time someone dared to kill his man. This was intolerable! With fury igniting in his chest, he barked at his men, “Get moving! Go get him and kill him! I want him dead!”
The remaining seven thugs charged at Kayden. They raised their machetes, ready to strike. Unfazed, Kayden locked eyes with them, and in an instant, he made a swift move. Then another thug crumpled to the ground, blood spraying everywhere. He died, just like the scar-faced man.
In a matter of seconds, all the thugs lay sprawled on the floor, lifeless and unmoving. A pool of bright crimson blood formed and painted the ground red. Such a gruesome sight made everyone’s skin crawl.
This was no mere scuffle; it was a merciless execution, devoid of any mercy!
Who on earth is this man? How could he kill so brazenly? He had just taken eight lives with nothing but his own strength. Each strike he delivered was a fatal blow, a clean cut to the throat, and he did that without a flicker of hesitation. His movements were more incredible than those of any action film. He was like a cold-blooded executioner.
All the people around were watching Kayden. A chilling fear settled over them, giving them goosebumps.
When the last thug hit the ground, the bald man’s voice shattered the tense silence, “Don’t move! Stay right there!” He aimed a handgun at Kayden while keeping a tight grip on Ivy’s throat with his other hand.
The bald man had her throat locked in a firm grip, and Ivy couldn’t utter a single sound. She struggled desperately, but it was utterly futile. The difference in their strength was just too great!
In fact, most people present secretly hoped the bald man would just pull the trigger on Kayden. After all, the bald man looked fearsome but was merely a robber. Kayden, however, was something else entirely; he was a murderer! When he struck, it was with lethal intent. It was as if anyone who crossed him would in the end turn into a lifeless corpse on the ground. Such a man was truly the most terrifying!
The bald man aimed the gun at Kayden, but he didn’t fire immediately. Instead, his eyes lingered on the corpses sprawled on the ground.
Kayden instinctively cast a glance at the bald man. He stood his ground without stepping forward.
As the bald man saw Kayden standing still, the fear on his face gradually morphed into a twisted smirk. “Go on, move! You were so tough a moment ago, and what’s the matter? Are you scared now?”
In the face of a gun, humans seemed pitifully fragile. No matter how powerful one might be, he could not survive as the bullet hit his heart. Just like Kayden, who had been a fierce opponent just moments before, now he could only stand motionless.
The bald man sneered, his confidence swelling. “You killed my men. I’m going to shoot you right now, then take your wife into the woods and fuck her hard!” His laughter echoed with smug.
Kayden took a step forward. He said in a low voice, almost like muttering to himself, “I don’t like it when people point guns at me.”
The bald man froze for a moment. He asked in puzzlement, “What did you say?”
“I say… no one can point a gun at me!” Kayden emphasized it, word by word, and it wasn’t just the bald man-everyone in the crowd heard him distinctly.
Even Ivy doubted if she had misheard. This man was unbelievably arrogant and overconfident about his own strength!
“Shit!” the bald man roared in fury, pulling the trigger without hesitation.
The gunshot didn’t ring out. Instead, a piercing scream erupted from the bald man’s lips. He didn’t notice that Kayden had been clenching a stone in his hand. Just before the bald man could fire, Kayden darted the stone at him. The stone shot like a bullet and shattered through his hand gripping the gun. The gun clattered to the ground as the bald man howled in agony!
The impact sent the bald man reeling back several steps. Kayden moved forward with calm determination and pulled the dazed Ivy behind him. He scooped up the fallen handgun and aimed it squarely at the bald man’s head, declaring. “Rot in hell!” he said.
The bald man’s eyes widened in sheer terror as he begged, “No! Please don’t kill me! I didn’t mean it! It was my boss who ordered me to do it! My boss is Toro, Toro Leighton! He made me do it!”
Tears of fear were welling in his eyes as he pleaded, but Kayden ignored him entirely. He squeezed the trigger without hesitation.
