Cara pov
What?” I gasped, feeling the world spin around me. “A Cupbearer? But that’s impossible. There are no rogue Cupbearers. Our kind heals, we don’t harm.”
Debby’s face was grim as she shook her head. “That’s what we believe its true. But who says an Omega can be a pureblood. Or that you of all will be a pureblood cupbearer.”
“But that’s…different, I still try to cling to the rational thoughts, scared of having my worldviews scattered again.”
“Look cara,” debby showed me the wound and from the mouth of the wound was ozing a dark light. these marks… they’re from one of us. If there’s a rogue Cupbearer out there, it changes a lot of things,…. its means that they know. And our life is in danger Cara.” She said with a serious expression.
A chill ran through me. A rogue Cupbearer? Could it be true? But there was no time to think about it. The general was fading fast, and I knew that if I didn’t act now, he would die.
” we need to do something!, atleast to stabilise him, he is not responding to medicine and the rate he is going he will die in the next hour” I stated the obvious,
Debby sighed,” I know….”
“Then let’s do something, you said it yourself that they already know about us, there is no need to hide like incompetent chickens, while people that requires our assistance are dying!!!”
Ignoring Debby’s warning, I moved closer to the general, before Debby could stop me. I placed my hands over his wounds. Energy surged through me, warmth spreading from my fingers as my powers kicked in. I focused hard, putting everything I have been learning the past month into action. pouring everything I had into healing him. The bleeding slowed, his breathing steadied, but something dark lingered, gnawing at my efforts.
“Debby I need you” I shouted to her, the rogue cupbearers energy was corrodong away Mt healing effects so fast than I could hill the general. I needed Debby to hold it off long enough for me to stitch the wound back together.
Debby came out from her shock, and jumped In to action, holding off the dark energy until I stitched up the general, stabilizing him in the meantime.
The nurses around me gasped, as the came in. They watched in awe as his wounds began to respond to medicine, They didn’t know what I was doing, they thought I was just using bandages and pressure like they were.
“You did it!” one of the nurses said, her face lighting up with relief. “Cara, you saved him!”
I forced a smile, even though I felt weak and drained. “Just doing what I can.” In said, me and debby sharing looks, before she nodded. Signifying to me to go and do what I have to do.
That was all I needed to convert my agitation from not doing anything to help, stabilize their wounds. As if in silent agreements, serious wounds were brought to my side and that included the ones who where unfortunate to be hit by the rogue cupbearer or cupbearers.
After a while, The chaos in the clinic began to calm down as the last of the wounded were stabilized. No one had died, thanks to my powers, and immediate response, making sure they where not exactly healed to be unatural but good enough for their werewolf gene to kick start healing itself.
though no one realized it. The nurses, exhausted but happy, gathered around me, their faces filled with admiration.
Noises of jubilation and celebration filled the whole pack, people were happy and thankful that they have survived the rogue infastation.
“You’re amazing,” one of them said. “I’ve never seen anyone work with such skill.
Yes, you were fantastic, they crowded around me, giving out praises and thanking me for being selfless. Even the patients I had helped all had look of gratitude on their faces.
“You should come to the pack party tomorrow,” one nurse suggested with a warm smile. “We’re celebrating after all this.”
I hesitated. Debby had been pushing me to attend, but I’d refused without a second thought. Now, with everyone looking at me, waiting for an answer, I felt trapped.
I glanced at Debby for help, but her mischievous smile told me she wasn’t on my side this time. She wanted me to go. Of course, she did.
“I…” I began, wanting to refuse, to slip away quietly and avoid the attention. But seeing their hopeful faces, their relief after such a terrifying day, I couldn’t say no. “Alright,” I said softly, forcing a smile. “I’ll be there.”
They cheered, their spirits lifted as they moved about the clinic, cleaning up. For a moment, it felt like everything would be okay.
Then I felt it.
Before I even saw him, I felt Brian’s presence. The air shifted, growing heavier, and the light atmosphere vanished in an instant.
He entered the room with a commanding presence that made the air feel heavier, like even the walls were paying attention to him. His tall, muscular frame filled the doorway, casting a shadow that seemed to stretch across the room, silencing everyone. There was something about the way he carried himself, calm, yet powerful, His alpha aura immediately filled the whole place, my heart beat increased. ” What was he doing here?” I asked myself.
Ever-since our big fight , I have not seen nor talk to him so seeing him all of a sudden, in the clinic with his jaw clenched and eyebrows raised, as if he was looking for something got my heart racing.
I held my breath as he stroked towards me, i cant help but see him realx a bit when he saw me. his army of soldiers followed behind him, flanking his sides.
He was garbed in his warrior attire, looking as handsome as always. his always curled hair looked rough and ruffled, and his clothes were torn at the edges from the battle. He didn’t react to the greetings of people around, only focusing on me as if I was the only thing in the room.
Even though he didn’t say a word, the entire space seemed to shift around him, like his mere presence had changed the atmosphere.
There was something about him, something dangerous yet undeniably attractive, and it was impossible to ignore. Brian wasn’t just handsome, he was the kind of man whose power and allure could silence a room without effort.
It warmed my inside. I almost drolled. My wolf leapt in happiness that our mate is finally here, but I tried to hold off any emotion that came from him being here. I know it was the mating bond that is making me react that way to him.
Hey,” I mumbled, my voice barely audible, squirming under his intense gaze.
His eyes locked onto mine, as if I was the only thing that mattered. The weight of his attention made my skin tingle.
By now everywhere was quiet, as they all looked up to their leader in surprise. wondering why he would be staring at me and his reasons for coming into the clinic.
After what felt like forever, he finally said “I came to escort you home”
I melted inside, his voice brought shivering up my spine, vibrating in my core. But my pride didn’t let me listen to him.
“I am… working” I said putting up a defiance font
I could here the collective intake of air, the crowd were probably shocked at my boldness to speak to him like that. But I don’t give a damn about Brian and fuck whoever he is.
I was expecting him to lash out like he sue to do but he let out a dangerous growl that vibrated throughout the whole room. It made my hair stand in attention.
“You dare not defy my orders,” he said softly, almost like a warning. and with that I was hoisted up by strong hefty hands like a weightless sac of feathers, and despite my embarrassing shouting and pathetic struggles I was escorted home in Brian’s arms.
