Within minutes, they stripped off their clothes, the urgency to continue where they left off driving them insane. Ever since they reconnected on the island and separated for a day, they had missed one another immensely.
While Nicholas’s mouth drove her wild with pleasure, Alyssa stroked his powerfully ripped body, her touch so sensual that he groaned with a burning need. “Alyssa, stop. You’re driving me wild,” said Nicholas, his voice hoarse with desire.
“I want you to make wild love to me, Nicholas,” she whispered, her voice hoarse with desire. After their confession, their need for one another had multiplied to a new level altogether. Alyssa’s entire body flashed hot, needing the release only he could give her.
“You do? I can’t wait to embed my co*k deep inside you,” he whispered, grazing his teeth against her earlobe. His dirty words made her exhale a sensual groan as she parted her legs to welcome him. The love-making was out of the world this time, almost as if they surrendered to one another straight from their heart and soul. It was eternal, elemental, and intense. If anything could be called heavenly, it would be this moment. They had come a long way together, through many ups and downs, and finally found a home for themselves in each other’s hearts. There was no looking back now.
As they lay sated in each other’s embrace, Alyssa closed her eyes, feeling complete and blissfully happy.
“Wow!” she whispered. Nicholas smiled, knowing what she meant.
“I know, and it will be more beautiful as we grow older with each other. Every single day will be a new loving experience for us. Through all difficulties, I will be with you forever.” He released her and got up from the bed. Opening the nightstand, he took out a velvet box containing a ring. Alyssa’s eyes widened as she realized what he was about to do.
Nicholas kneeled by the bedside on one knee, gazing into her eyes with love and sincerity, looking vulnerable without clothes. It was a unique proposal, nothing like those Alyssa had seen in the movies, yet it was special and heartfelt.
“Since the first time I saw you, I was attracted to you. That first unfinished kiss made me crave you more. I wanted you to complete that kiss but you left suddenly. I waited for you to return and when you did, it was the happiest day of my life. Then I did not know I was in love with you, Alyssa. All I knew was I couldn’t live without seeing you. I stalked you many times, and I pursued you many times, but it wasn’t because of some enmity with your brother. His enmity was totally one-sided. I was annoyed with him a few times and wanted to teach him a lesson, but not at your expense. My motive for pursuing you was totally personal. It was because I was in love with you. Although you misunderstood me many times, I never lost hope. I’m glad that I believed in us. It helped us clear our differences. Now that we are finally together like we were meant to be, will you marry me, Alyssa, and be with me forever?” said Nicholas earnestly.
Alyssa’s eyes filled up with tears of happiness. It was the most beautiful proposal she had ever witnessed. She pulled him up and hugged him close to her heart.
“Yes, Nicholas, I’d love to marry you.”
He caught her hand and placed the ring on her finger. “I hadn’t planned to propose this way. I had planned a beach proposal on Oyster Island, but something is better than nothing. With your parents planning our formal engagement tomorrow, I got little time to plan,” he said breathlessly.
“I loved it, Nicholas. It was the most genuine, loving, and beautiful proposal ever.”
“I’m honored, baby. Do you like the ring? You need to place it back in the box for tomorrow’s engagement ceremony,” he said. Alyssa gaped at the sapphire and diamond studded ring with awe. It was indeed special as the stone matched his eyes!
“I love it, Nicholas. It matches your eyes,” she gasped.
“Oh, really? I thought it matched yours.” The argument continued as they cuddled against one another. Later Nicholas ordered dinner, and they tucked in hungrily. The love-making at night was slow, gentle, and more lingering as they explored new ways to please one another.
The next day, both of them went to work. Alyssa had to give her resignation since she would train under Nicholas for three months before taking over VE Global Finance. Everything went smoothly, and Alyssa was happy to serve a seven-day notice period at Bellevue hospital. She didn’t see Eva and wondered where exactly her friend was. There was no news of her brother, either. She just prayed that they sorted out their differences and found the happiness they truly deserved. In the afternoon, Nicholas picked her up from the hospital and drove her straight home to get ready as quickly as possible, as they only had an hour at hand.
“How was your day? Did they release you?” asked Nicholas worriedly.
“Yeah, don’t worry. I only need to serve a seven-day notice period.” Nicholas caught her by the waist and swirled her around as if she didn’t weigh a thing.
“I’m so happy that things are falling into place. Your parents would be thrilled to hear this news.”
Alyssa wore a sky blue, A-line full-length dress subtly embellished with handmade sequins. With her beautiful hair let loose, she looked dazzling. Nicholas winked at her through the mirror as he fixed the zip of her dress.
“I’ll be the one to take it off at night. Don’t even plan to stay over at your parents’ house,” he whispered. Alyssa smiled and nodded at him. Of course, she wouldn’t want to stay over anywhere else other than her own home.
Clad in a black tuxedo, Nicholas looked nothing less than her prince charming! He led her to his car, and they sped away, already ten minutes late. “Will there be any guests?” asked Alyssa nervously. Nicholas shook his head, knowing that he had invited no one.
“I don’t think so. It’s just us and we should be able to wrap it up quickly.” Alyssa, however, had her doubts. Knowing her parents, she knew they would certainly invite her friends and Nicholas’s family. It couldn’t be a hushed-up thing. With Alexander marrying so suddenly informing no one, her parents would definitely want to invite their close friends and family to hers.
“Hope so,” she just said. Nicholas drove in through the enormous gates of her parents’ mansion, but his eyes widened seeing the number of cars already parked there.
“I knew it. Mom and dad can’t keep it low. It seems they have invited nearly a hundred guests already,” she said with an eye roll. Nicholas groaned, knowing they could never escape early. He led her towards the door to press the doorbell, but before he could do so, the door opened and everyone poured out to welcome them inside. Alyssa’s eyes widened at seeing her entire gang of friends with their families. Sienna, Lucas, and their kids, Nicholas’s mom and granny, Skylar and Christian, Hayley and Ashton, and Maxwell and her relatives. There were Nicholas’s close relatives as well. Except for Alexander and Eva, everyone was present!
“I don’t believe this! Who invited you?” He asked Maxwell, who grinned at him. Alyssa noticed he didn’t look heartbroken at all!
“I’m disappointed in you, Nick. How could you not tell me?” he demanded, but his grin gave him away. Still, Nicholas looked apologetic.
“It happened so fast, I didn’t get the time to invite anyone. So, who invited you?”
“I did,” said her mom, coming forward to escort them inside. “You’re looking so grown up, Lisa.”
“Thanks, mom. Where’s dad?”
“He’s with Nicholas’s family. Daniel and his dad were old friends, and he’s meeting Claudia and Margaret after a long time.”
Her friends surrounded her, chiding her for the sudden event. “Thank God we didn’t return last night,” said Skylar, who had arrived with Christian to attend Eva’s wedding.
“So finally you sorted out with Nicholas. I always knew he was the one for you. Does Alexander know?” asked Hayley.
“I don’t know. I haven’t seen him in a while. It’s best he knows after the wedding!” she said warily, and Hayley agreed.
“Since your parents have given you permission, I don’t think he would object,” said Sienna, who joined them. Alyssa noted even Marcus was missing from the scene.
Her dad hugged her close for the first time and Alyssa had tears in her eyes, knowing how unwell he was. She had misunderstood him completely all her life. It was her own prejudices and rude behavior towards them that made her drift apart. All her life she had held them responsible for her father’s death and revolted against them, but not anymore. They were her parents, and they deserved each other! What happened with her real dad was a misfortune, a twist of fate! She felt more at peace with herself after the realization and forgave her parents.
“Ready? Let’s get you engaged,” said her dad.
