Alyssa woke up to the sound of birds the next morning. It surprised her that Nicholas hadn’t taken advantage of her in any way. Heck! He hadn’t even kissed her! What was wrong with him? Why did he take so much pain to bring her here when he didn’t even want to kiss her? She quickly freshened up and rushed down the stairs to the familiar smell of freshly cooked breakfast. At this rate, he would spoil her and she wouldn’t ever be able to live all by herself.
“Good morning, Nicholas. You’re spoiling me rotten with these delicious treats. I’m afraid I’m getting used to living with you,” she said, her eyes lighting up as she checked out the scrambled eggs, and smoked sausages he made. Nicholas smiled back and continued to make the avocado-topped toast.
“That’s precisely what I intend to do. After this, you wouldn’t be able to live all by yourself.” Alyssa chuckled, seeing the infectious mood he was in. Could she ask him about the wedding?
“Ah! So that’s your motive!” she said playfully.
“Now that you’ve figured it out, what do you plan to do about it?”
“Nothing, just get pampered as long as you’re in the mood,” said Alyssa, and Nicholas looked up at her, his eyes holding her gaze.
“What if it’s forever?” His question took her breath away.
“Don’t make promises that are impossible to keep,” she said, helping him serve the food.
“What makes you think I wouldn’t be able to keep them? You underestimate me, Alyssa. I don’t know why you are refusing to give us a chance. If this has anything to do with your brother, then let me tell you I’m ready to face him. He doesn’t have any right to interfere in your affairs. You’re an adult and can decide for yourself.”
“No, it has nothing to do with Alexander.”
“Then?” prompted Nicholas, almost at his wit’s end. Couldn’t she see he had left his work, his best friend’s wedding, just to be with her and woo her? She didn’t have any valid reason to reject him, yet she did every time he approached her.
“Then nothing. I don’t think a relationship based on desire will work in the long run.”
“Who said I only desire you? I care about you. Why don’t you just give me a chance?” he urged. He had never pleaded with any woman in his life, but Alyssa just couldn’t feel how special she was to him.
“Okay, I’ll be your girlfriend, Nicholas.” It was so sudden that Nicholas gaped at her wordlessly. Did he hear her correctly?
“Can you repeat that?”
“I said, I’ll be your girlfriend.” Alyssa smiled, her heart skipping a beat at seeing the astonished look on his face. His eyes darkened like thunderclouds as if her acceptance alone unleashed the hungry beast hiding deep inside him. He approached her, stopping inches away from her, blocking her between himself and the counter.
“Again,” he whispered, his eyes roaming all over her face as if in a daze. Alyssa’s breath hitched when his eyes fell to her lips as if he was fighting a battle within him to restrain himself. She didn’t wish to hold back any longer.
“I’ll be your girlfriend, Nicholas,” she whispered. A deep groan of satisfaction escaped from his throat and he leaned in further.
“Then let’s start with a kiss,” he rasped, crashing his lips to hers without even waiting for her permission. It seemed as if he had been waiting for just this moment. His fingers tangled into her hair while his wet tongue glided along the seam of her mouth, leaving a trail of devastating pleasure behind. It had been so long since they had kissed and she had been going crazy ever since she set foot on this island. A soft wanton moan escaped from her lips and it fueled an intense hunger in him, making him deepen the kiss. His hand encircled her waist and pulled her flush against his body while he plunged his tongue deep within the warm, velvety softness of her mouth. It aroused Nicholas as an insatiable feeling of lust pounded through his veins, thickening his blood and hardening his friend down there.
Alyssa’s soft moan of surrender, her fingertips digging into his chest muscles, made him feel alive. This was what was missing from his life! She kissed him back, slowly exploring his mouth, licking up his taste, drinking down his gruff groans of pleasure as she tangled her tongue with his. It was enough to unleash a savage greed in him that tightened in his chest. He needed more.
Insatiable hunger turned the kiss wilder and Nicholas bit and dragged his teeth along her soft bottom lip. A shocked gasp escaped her mouth, but Nicholas was relentless. He dominated the kiss, pushing Alyssa backward till her back hit the counter behind her. If he could, he would have lain her down over it and pumped his seeds inside her, but he would take it slow. He wanted her to be ready for him, as ready as he was for her.
“I’ve wanted this for so long, Alyssa. I’ve wanted you. I’ve spent so many sleepless nights because of you,” he whispered when at last his lips released hers. The breakfast lay forgotten on the kitchen counter while they tried to regulate their breathing. It seemed they both couldn’t keep their hands off one another.
“I want you too, Nicholas.” She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him close. She wanted to say so much more. Nicholas waited for her to confess her love, but she didn’t.
“Do you realize that now you’re mine? Mine for life,” he said, engulfing her in his warm embrace.
“Yes, and you’re mine for life,” she pointed out, and he smiled into her hair. Yes, he was hers for life. A euphoric feeling of bliss engulfed his heart and at last, he was at peace.
“Let’s put some fuel into our system before we take this somewhere else,” he said with a chuckle, releasing her. Alyssa knew what he meant. He wanted to make love to her after breakfast. They sat down opposite one another to eat, but the se*ual tension between them was too intense to be ignored. Nicholas fed her, and she, too, fed him back. Now they indeed were a couple! Nicholas wanted her to move into his house after they returned, but he was afraid to bring up the topic yet. He would have to go about the traditional way. He would have to talk to her dad and her brother before approaching her.
“Will you let me go now that I’ve agreed to be yours?” asked Alyssa hopefully.
“Was that why you agreed so quickly?” he asked in disbelief.
“No, I’m just asking since you told me earlier that you would release me once I agreed to be your girlfriend.”
“Please me first. I could consider your wish!” he challenged her. Nicholas was a little confused by that discussion. Did she agree just to be able to attend Eva’s wedding? They ate in silence and cleared up the table.
“Done. So what now?” asked Alyssa shyly, knowing fully well what he wanted from her.
“You tell me how are you planning to please me?” he asked with interest. He could hear his rapidly beating heart as he waited for her reply.
“Maybe by giving you a head massage to start with!” she said with a grin.
“Who needs a f*cking head massage when it’s my body that’s aching?” he demanded, making her giggle.
“Let’s see what I can do about that,” she teased him more, but he just lost his restraint and strode determinedly towards her. “Nicholas, what are you planning to do?” Alyssa turned on her heels and ran as fast as her legs could carry her. With Nicholas hot on her heels, she knew he would be able to catch up with her in no time.
“I was just kidding, Nicholas.” She ran out of the great room, straight down the corridor, and out onto the porch.
“I’m not. Got you,” he said, catching hold of her and picking her up on his shoulder.
“Nicholas put me down right now,” she yelled, punching his back as he carried her all the way inside.
“Please me first,” he said, climbing up the stairs. He carried her towards their bedroom while her heartbeats raced with excitement. He lay her down on the bed, reminding her of the first time they had made love in Singapore. There wasn’t a minute she didn’t remember that moment she shared with him. She knew he too remembered it as much as she did.
Nicholas gazed at her with hooded eyes. She was the most gorgeous creature on earth! With her hair spread out like spun gold all over the pillow, her dark eyelashes fluttering around glassy eyes, and her soft pink lips swollen from his kiss, she was a sight to behold. He could get her used to sleeping with her and waking up to this every morning. The kiss was stamped on his lips and he felt invigorated, alive. She had now awakened a beast hidden inside him, who couldn’t be satiated easily. He now needed everything that Alyssa could give him.
