Kira’s body tensed with fear as Dave’s rough hand gripped her tightly from behind. He had come back after some time, not answering her question about what he meant by them leaving, and now she found herself in the woods, heading to where she didn’t even know, with Dave behind her.
Her arms were bound tightly, with the rope behind her back digging into her skin. Every step was forced as Dave pushed her to move, his hold strong and relentless. He was in control.
“Where are you taking me?” She asked as she turned her head, her heart racing. She herself could hear the panic that crept into her words. But there was no answer from Dave, just a sharp shove that made her stumble forward again.
“Shut up and move faster.” Dave growled in her ear, his voice tight and low. “I did not think you would be this stubborn. At the rate at which you talk, you will blow off my eardrums. Maybe when we get to our destination, I will do something about that mouth of yours. Might even consider redeveloping it.” He threatened and pushed her more.
“Where are you taking me?” She demanded and resisted, not wanting to walk forward.
As Kira struggled and kept asking, Dave laughed. She was really, extremely getting on his nerves. “Don’t you think you are a bit eager to know where we are going?” He asked as his grip tightened on her, and he yanked her forward, “I feel you are actually happy and just pretending because why do you want to know so much? Don’t you like surprises?”
“I do not care about anything related to you, let me go right now!” She said to him, making sure her voice came out strong, despite how she really felt inside.
“I won’t go anywhere with you,” she said to him, her stomach churning with nausea as she felt his lips brush against her ear.
“Really?” He asked her, his lips still brushing against her ear, “Although your opinion is irrelevant, and you will see soon enough where we are headed. Now, move!” He muttered and pulled her forward.
The force he used to jerk her forward again almost threw her off balance.
“I do not like being mean to you, my sweet, but do you have to be so stubborn?” He asked, although he was talking to himself.
Kira’s heart hammered in her chest with each step she took, causing her to panic. She had no plan to escape, and now her fear was starting to turn into doubt.
“What if no one comes for me?” She thought, “It has been hours now, if I am not mistaken, and still no one has come.”
“What if they think I- I ran away?” Kira asked herself, her stomach tightening with dread.
“No, no,” she shook her head as she kept thinking, “They won’t think that, they won’t. They will come for me.”
As they kept moving, with Dave pushing her every minute when she tried to resist, she finally asked a question she had been meaning to ask.
“Why are you doing this?” She asked, trying to steady her voice. “I have done nothing to you. What do you want? This…you… I could have never imagined you would do something like this.”
Suddenly, Dave stopped walking, pulling Kira to a halt with him. “Now, now,” he said to her as she looked up at him, his eyes intense, dark, and almost manic. “Why do you make me feel bad?”
“Hmm?” He asked her.
“I just want to know why you are doing this and can’t let me go,” Kira answered, even as he made her skin crawl. There was just something twisted in the way he looked at her.
“Fine, I will answer,” he nodded. “First, do you think I am stupid, my sweet?” He asked her, pulling her closer to him.
“Let go,” Kira demanded as she tried to move away, but his grip tightened on her arm.
“Shhhh!” He told her, “Stay still. And furthermore, we cannot stay here. What if your mates return from their trip and notice you are gone? If they think you left on your own, no one will come for you, and that would be an advantage for me. But if they suspect something or know something is wrong, they will come looking for you. We are still in New Orleans, and I would like to keep you to myself.”
Then he pulled her closer, as if she were not already close enough, his breath hot against her skin. “And you know what’s better than all of that, my sweet?” He asked, his lips curling into a dark smile. “Making sure they never find you.”
“You are sick,” Kira muttered in disbelief. “How could someone be so… so…” She thought, and she could not even find the right word to describe the madness Dave was portraying.
“I know,” Dave agreed, taking what she said as a compliment. “I am sick, and you are my cure,” then he smiled and whispered, “Your body was meant for me. Everything about you, my sweet, belongs to me. So the sooner you accept this, the better for you.”
“You are f*cking sick,” Kira shouted and immediately tried to push him away. “LET ME GO!” She demanded angrily, “Right now Dave, Let me go, RIGHT NOW!”
Even as she shouted and tried to fight him off, a small part of her could not shake the fear she was feeling. The fear that Dave might be right about one thing. What if they think she ran away? She did not want to doubt them, but that was also a possibility.
Dave smirked as he watched her struggle, still holding her tightly.
“Alright, that is enough,” he ordered, and made her stop, by gripping both her arms and threatening her, “Move again and I will kill you. I do very much believe you belong to me, and that is why I can kill you, so you belong to no other.”
“You are really sick,” Kira scoffed and spat on his face.
“Mmm,” he smiled and wiped off her spit with his hand, cleaning it on his shirt.
“Besides, don’t you remember?” He asked while looking at her.
