My mind was in chaos, filled with anger after the mistake that never should have happened. I’ve been holed up in my office, working non-stop for the past 48 hours. I blame Debby for not doing her job properly, for letting that weak Omega slip out that night.
I can’t believe I marked her. Of all people, a weak Omega I hissed in anger at what I did. she can’t be my mate, never. I growled, pounding my desk, sending papers flying and spilling the alcohol that had been sitting there.
A knock sounded at the door before my secretary timidly entered. “Master, is everything alright?” she asked, worry evident in her voice as she kept her eyes downcast.
“Ha, yes, Julia, something is definitely wrong,” I replied, my mind sparking with the thought of a welcome distraction. I looked up at her, a petite girl who, surprisingly, has lived among monsters yet retained her innocence. She was beautiful, no doubt about that.
“Um… okay. I’ll be outside if you need me, Alpha,” she stammered, trying to make a quick escape from my office.
“Stop.” My voice echoed through the room, and I watched with satisfaction as she froze in place. Nodding to myself, I sat back, studying her.
“Julia, are you running from your Alpha?” I asked slowly.
“No…no, Master, I wasn’t running, I was just…”
“You can take away my pain, Julia,” I interrupted, eyes gleaming with intent. “I rejected my mate. You could say I ran away from her. Do you know why?”
She remained silent, but I continued anyway. “She’s a weak, homeless Omega. She can’t be my queen, nor will she ever be the right choice,” I said, clenching my teeth in anger, grinding them to the point of almost cracking.
Julia’s lips moved soundlessly, as if trying to say something, but the words wouldn’t come. “I need relief, Julia. Can you do that for your Alpha?” I asked, watching her intently.
The tension in the room thickened as I allowed my Alpha aura to fill the space, grazing her senses. I could smell her arousal, she was already wet, causing my primal instincts to flare like a snake ready to strike.
Her eyes widened in horror as she realised she was moving closer to me. I knew what was happening, I was using my Alpha authority on her. Who was she to disobey her Alpha?
Suddenly, the door burst open. “Who dares…” I started, ready to unleash my fury, but stopped when I saw it was Garreth, my Beta, interrupting the moment I was about to savor.
“Go back to your office, Julia,” he commanded, taking in the scene.
“How dare you, Garreth!” My anger spiked at the disobedience of my command.
“Can’t you see i’m busy”
“What is this, my good friend? It has been long since you drank alcohol” he said softly
“That’s Alpha for you”, I roared, pressuring him, but he still stood straight like a rock.
“This isn’t you, Alpha,” he said, then sighing, “There’s something you might like to hear,” he said, his eyes filled with unmasked pity.
“What problem could you possibly not handle?” I asked, frustration and anger evident in my voice.
“Alpha Zain of Blue Lake has been spotted at his mansion far away. I need your permission to capture him,” Gareth reported.
“No need. Since I’m less busy and in need of a distraction, I’ll handle it myself. You stay and manage the pack,” I ordered, already getting up in a rush.
“There’s no need for you to waste your time on that sick bastard, Alpha,” Gareth tried to dissuade me, but I was already halfway out the door, eager for a distraction.
“Take care of the pack, Gareth. Alpha Zain awaits a warm welcome.”

I was pissed, genuinely pissed, at the interruption. Ever since I turned away from that weak Omega, I’ve been restless. I’ve also noticed a slight stir from my wolf, but that’s the extent of it, just a stir, nothing more.
“Idiot, spineless coward,” I cursed under my breath at my wolf for refusing to emerge, making me the laughingstock of all Ellorin.
“Greetings, Master,” my warriors greeted as I arrived.
“Hmm, it’s good to be here,” I remarked, breathing in the fresh air and taking in the beautiful scenery. “No wonder Zain chose this place to die,” I chuckled.
“Master, he’s still inside,” my commander reported. I had ordered my men to patrol the area around Alpha Zain’s mansion, ensuring they wouldn’t be noticed.
“He thinks he can run from the king after everything I did for him?” I chuckled darkly. The fool had no idea what was coming.
“Bring me Zain,” I ordered, and my men sprang into action. I settled back, ready to enjoy the show. I listened as the noise from inside the mansion suddenly ceased, followed by shouts, a brief scuffle, and then silence. The fool couldn’t even put up a decent fight.
“Alpha, he’s here,” my men reported a while later.
Hearing this made me smile. “He’ll pay for every second I spent hunting his lazy ass,” I declared, rising from my seat. “Lead the way.”
Zain was tied to a chair, wearing nothing but a pair of boxers. Surprisingly, there wasn’t a single wound or drop of blood on him, just the way I liked my victims, perfectly untouched, ready for me to inflict the suffering they deserved.
“You bastard, rot in hell!” Zain spat as soon as he saw me, but a single glance from me silenced him.
“Where is he?” I asked coldly.
“I don’t know him, I swear! I don’t know him!” he whimpered, his voice trembling with fear. Disgust welled up within me, but I forced a smile.
“Pathetic Alpha. I haven’t even started, and you’re already a mess,” I sighed, shaking my head at his pitiful state. Alphas like him, pampered since birth, had no idea what true pain was, what it means to be a leader.
“I swear, I don’t know him! I only met him once and did business with him, but I don’t know anything else!” Zain continued to beg.
“Don’t worry, lover boy,” I sneered, glancing at the woman tied up next to him. “I’ll free your slut. All I want is you. And you will give me what I want because the king demands it.”
With a snap of my fingers, the agonising sound of bones snapping filled the air, followed by Zain’s wails of pain.
“Think carefully and tell me everything I need to know, and you’re free to go. Otherwise…” I trailed off, motioning to his remaining fingers. “The only thing it will take is time, and luckily for you, I have plenty, blame it on a pathetic Omega, just like you”
I smiled Evilly, my words followed by another sound of a broken finger followed by the agonising screams of alpha Zain.
